F150 5.0L Y-Pipe Coolant Leak Fix

This video shows how to replace the common coolant leak on the Y-pipe fitting on my 2015 Ford F150 with 5.0L V8. These quick connect fittings are a common failure point on all 5.0L F150's from 2011 to 2021.

@robertclymer6948 Your welcome! Haha great question, I realized it about 30 seconds after I started it up when it went from normal to muffled sounding. I shut it down immediately realizing what I did. After cussing myself for a bit I settled down and pulled the intake pipe and throttle body off. I looked inside the manifold and didn't see it. Then I pulled the whole intake manifold off and found it lodged in the manifold right before entering cylinder 01 in one large wadded up ball. I was super lucky. I'm glad I left the paper towel as 3 connected sheets so it didn't get sucked down in there. I've got a video coming soon showing how to trouble shoot this. I think from here on out I won't be plugging any openings 😂

Hello sir, how can I tell where the leak is coming from, I don’t see any coolant in my oil when I do my oil changes or white smoke coming from the exhaust, so i thinking I got a external leak, but I just can’t tell where exactly is coming from, I do smell some coolant coming from the from driver side. Thanks in advance

@@k-a147 I had trouble telling where it was coming from but could smell it from the driver side like you mentioned. I noticed the Y pipe or T connection was leaking after driving for a while then opening the hood and seeing the water pump pulley and belt was wet with some white scaling below it. The gaskets go bad in those quick connections and need to be replaced.
