Super helpful, and very detailed video. Been a Mod Motor 4.6 guy/racer my whole life, and just recently added a 2018 F150 RCSB into the the mix with a with a Whipple onboard. Did new guides, primary chains, and tensioners at 80k miles during the process along with the intake/exhaust cam sensors.

What gaskets, if any are you replacing?

Don't you have to relearn the throttle body? and no "check engine" light comes on?

Why didnt yoy guys show how to install the harmonic balancer pulley? Im just curious. It's been hell trying to find the best way to do this, with an install tool of course. Some say to heat the pulley up and cool the front seal, but that sounds sketchy
@CompetitionAuto3 ай бұрын
I am sorry we didn't. We normally just use an installer that pulls it on. we don't heat them up.

Carl one question. When you are doing the mechanical work is that sped up or is it real time. I think it's real time. Either way you are a hell of a wrench...

Yes some areas are speed up and thank you!

How did you handle the ac condenser? Would it work to Remove the mounting bolts and leave it hanging on its pipes?

Best OPG video I’ve seen yet for Gen3 Coyote in a F150. However I’m confused. Got my 2020 Coyote F150 torn down and installing right now. Your video says set key way at 5 o’clock and 12 o’clock. I have the Ford manual, and it says 3:30 and 7:30. Can you clarify why that would be?!? Cause I’d hate to go back together with it all wrong, and have to tear it all back apart all because my Ford manual says one way, and I follow that. Cause your truck started after with no issues. And now I’m stuck not wanting to move forward until I get some clarification. And I have a beautiful Gen 5 Whipple ready to go on too!!! Please help! Thank you!

Thank You, As for the 12 & 5 o'clock vs the 3:30 & 7:30 Its all the same as long as all the timing marks line up and you don't get one of the banks 180 degree out! Its all about getting the cams in a steady location (so the cams don't move when the chain are off) and still able to see the marks on the chain with the mark on the gear. Hope this helps out.

I’m a little confused, i did my full revolution between removing the second chain and not during the install. Seems you did the opposite. I was following the Ford manual. I removed the rt side chain at 7:30 turned it one revolution and then went to 3:30 and removed the Lt chain. Reinstalling it at 3:30, rotated to 7:30 and installed the rt chain. Is there a way to double check my timing is right?

cant find anyone around here (san angelo tx.) besides ford willing to replace the timing chains and pump, rattling quite a bit. Would you be willing to have someone bring a 2018 f150 5.0 up there and do this? if so, total cost?
@CompetitionAuto2 жыл бұрын
Of Course, We have customers bring cars from out of state all the time.

Is this why it ticks and clatters on acceleration? Sounds like a diesel?

That truck sounded just like my stock truck when he started it after his install.
