I want to buy a 2024 Ford F-150. There are two engines, a 5.0v8 and a 3.5 turbo. Which one is better in the long run in terms of service, less mechanical problems, less fuel consumption, better towing power and in the desert? I am following your beautiful channel and subscribe and like.

@@qazqaz-kp1xj I am biased a little but I see both sides. Sadly, I’ve heard the 3.5 gas mileage hype is a scam. They aren’t getting the 28 that ford advertises. I’ve had three 5.0 vehicles now and I’ve had no problems with them. The 5.0 will for sure be the better option for towing unless you go with the high output f150 with the 3.5 motor. Personally, I’d go 5.0 all day. Thanks for subscribing to my channel!

My Glock "retractable shovel" stays on my hip.......but having the storage is nice too. The underseat storage is nice! I bought the BuiltRight seat pull kit since my 2021 F150 was pain to drop the driver's side rear.....I'll have to check them out for the velcro storage. Check out Morrflate, I love their kit for airing down and the guage is dead nuts accurate.

Can you talk more about the aerodynamics of your tent setup?

@@justinandjessdiy absolutely! What would you like to know more about?

@@OTGtravels @OTGtravels Is your goal to be flush with the cab or below it. Curious if there is an optimal height that would keep fuel efficiency the same or close

@@justinandjessdiy keeping the tent in line with the roof of the truck as opposed to having the full size rack where the tent would sit above the roof line substantially causing wind drag. Having it below the roof line is obviously optimal, but you can only go so low before you remove the option of having things mounted on the side of the rack

Roughly how much does all that overland gear weigh, on top, inside, everything you bring with you for a trip, all of it? I'm trying to decide between a Platinum, Tremor or Raptor for a 2025 purchase, leaning Tremor, and payload capacity is a relevant factor. Thanks. And thanks for a useful review too. If I got the Platinum or Tremor I'd likely do some after market work like a level/lift and larger 35 tires and such. Oh, and do you think 2 maxtracks are enough, or would 4 be better? And do you think using a pop up tent is a lot better than using a ground tent?
@OTGtravelsАй бұрын
@@Nate-zy5ce i would guess it’s roughly around 1,000lbs when I’m fully loaded and headed out. 2 maxtrax has always been enough for me, but I can see where 4 could be a benefit at times. Glad you liked the video!

@@Nate-zy5ce as far as the tent goes, I love a roof top tent. If you use it enough, it is 100% worth it. I’ve used both, and the RTT just gives that tree house vibe.. and who doesn’t want to sleep in a tree house? It does suck if you have to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, I will admit.
