I guess the hardest part will be filling in the 90 % of the map that's couldn't be fast traveled to.
@dragonbornexpress56509 ай бұрын
No, I think the hardest part is trying to replicate the level design of the original version while trying not to expose some of the issues that occurs with the translation in perspectives. (Like when they showcased the Temple of Trials; The hallways being so boxy sticks out in 3D like a sore thumb and feels extremely gamey.)
@chasecsgo70419 ай бұрын
@@dragonbornexpress5650 i dont think this is the case here at all they did an extremely good job i cant see what you are talking about, and how hard would it be to use the same system of travel with the map and random encounters dont they already have a mod for that, then they only need to fill in most areas. Making these areas are much harder than the actual empty map areas thats easy to lay out its hard to make all the models for everything in these buildings that arent already made, trees and terrain are easily replicated and repurposed for many different games and things they can change the colors and make it work otherwise i doubt they would have spent the time making half of the game.
@eclipsegst94199 ай бұрын
There are two solutions. first would be a system just like the original with an overworld travel map that you warp to when you walk into a travel zone and select yes on a prompt, and within it the random encounter rng that could drop you off at one of the same random encounters but in full 3d. If that isn't possible, the world could just be scaled down enough to be travelable and the random encounters sprinkled about the wastes. I would be fine with either if the game has working quests that's all i care about really.
@AviTwesvii9 ай бұрын
@@eclipsegst9419I think the first option is the best because one thing I really liked about the originals was that thanks to the world map, the (lorewise) game area felt huge and it felt very significant travelling from one place to another, seeing the days passing and all. It truly added to the role-playing element for me but I truly understand if they'd prefer to scale down the map, since this is a mod and it's already mind blowing by itself that they're remaking Fallout 2 into a whole different game engine!! :)
