I hope you guys enjoyed this review! To those saying it should be an M5 competition, I'd argue the AMG GT63 is Mercedes equivalent. Yes it is shaped more like the m6 grand coupe, however unlike the M6 the AMG GT63 performs better than the M5 or M6. It does however cost more then the competition. Regardless these cars are amazing!

In the F90 M5 you can have rear wheel drive in all 8 gears, in the E63S u can only have drift mode for 3 gears :)

Vlad Malkov and you can switch to rear wheel drive at any time, any speed with just a press of a button.

Yeah truth be told for some apparent reason he never explained that important fact, The M5 is a more pure rear wheel drive car with the mode being able to permanently disengage and left to rear wheel where as in the merc it's got it's set gears. Also I've never ever heard the E63 s recorded a 2.8sec run time, it's 3.4sec, the M5 is known to be the quicker of the two at 2.8sec

Not in any speed. In the dyno testing he realised AWD reacivates at around 60mph or 3rd gear.

DeeJay you need to go back a few videos, he tested the e63s at 2.8, 2.9, and 3.0 secs with one winter tire and a passenger

Avais Hussain i work at a bmw dealership, and lemme tell ya, out of all the cars I’ve sat in and driven, the F90 M5 is probably the best. Cameras don’t do it justice, the sound of the exhaust is amazing. Sure it may not crackle but it’s still agressive af.

The problem with the e63 is that the light just don't fit to the rest of the body language, it really breaks it for me. The M5 looks like made out of one solid shape, everything adds up perfectly.

Carl Meier function wise they are basically the exact same... Both are on par. Same goes for looks because looks are subjective. For me personally I like front of of the e63 better.. Rear of m5 better.... Interior of e63 better and seats of m5 better.

Great review. Both cars are so close in all aspects that it essentially comes down to personal preference. Point of correction: there is currently no 528i; F10 528i was replaced by the G30 530i (N20 vs B48).

Great review and I had the luxury of driving both cars and I must say the E63s is a much better car overall. You are right about the E63S feels more special over the M5 and that is how I felt as well. I had considerable seat time on both cars and decided to purchase an E63s and is the best sport luxury sedan I ever own. It's definitely the best daily and puts a smile on your face everytime I drive it.

Great video, great comparison. I recently went back and forth between these two as a new daily and went with the M5. I do have all the exterior carbon from BMW Individual on my M5. Honestly, there are so close it comes down to personal preference. I had an AMG that I was trading so the M car felt more unique to me whereas prior to getting my AMG I was in an M6 and the AMG felt more unique. I tend to simply flip back and forth between M and AMG cars as daily drivers. Nothing provides as much comfort, luxury, performance, practicality, and styling as the M and AMG cars in my opinion for the price points.

Both are great cars, but I would take the M5. It looks a bit better, a bit more driving fun and in most drag races it also wins. It’s hard to decide which interior is better. I probably also go for the M5, but those speakers in the AMG are just lit. Overall two great cars that I absolutely love.

A few things. The M5 holds its torque almost until 6000rpm vs the merc although makes more peak torque it drops off sooner second the m5 weights I believe at least 200lbs less. Also most dynos have the M5 at closer to 630hp from factory.

Both cars are great ! As new car they have very close performance level but as they get old a little the different starts to show. for me i prefers the AMG, it looks better refined and has something special about it. the speaker & infortainment system is top notch!
