I absolutely love these ideas. What I started doing years ago was my oatmeal container you know the big round one , I covered them in scrapbook paper and trim and you can store two rolls of toilet tissue inside.

Oh my gosh! 😂😂. I literally have been using a popcorn can as a trash can for 5 years. I was lazy and just painted it black. Your idea was better! AND I also just recently made a faux galvanized Kleenex box cover using a super thick cardboard, but I couldn't help thinking, "how fun it would be if I lived near you" We would have soooo much fun brainstorming! I am always repurposing items ! Having worked for Head Start preschool in the 80's ....we made games, paint pots, all kinds of artwork out of trash. I can't throw sturdy things away! In Oregon we can recycle so that helps!!! Love reusing, creating, etc. Great video!!!

Hey Fabedhacks! Can you post how many sheets of scrapbook paper, cans of paint and jars of mod-podge you likely would need to make the entire set? Thinking of Mother's day gift sets and would like to get correct amount of supplies together...Assuming just one tube of E-6000. TIA!

Yes! Absolutely. Meant to do that and will go back now that I have a break to do. But so you know, For all of the projects, I used probably about half a can of the Rustoleum Metallic Chrome spray paint and about 8 sheets of the 81/2 x 11 inch scrap paper from Hobby Lobby. If you use the bigger 12 x 12 sheets, you will need less but they only have the gray marble in the smaller. (By the way, the gold tone marble sheet was from Michael's but that is the only one. All other examples of scrapbook paper were from HL.) Definitely less than 1 tube E6000, probably only about 1/8 of a tube, but hard to say on on the mod podge. If buying from DT, I would definitely get at least 3 of the small bottles, but any of the larger sizes from craft stores, Walmart, etc would definitely be enough. So glad you are thinking of doing this as a Mother's Day gift! What a great idea!😊💗

Mod podge is one of the few things that's actually cheaper per ounce to buy in the smaller containers from the Dollar Tree. Save The empty containers because you can use them in the same way she uses toilet rolls for the caddy.

I thought about you last night when I was cleaning the kitchen and came upon a cake frosting container. I thought... “what would Rosemary do with this?” I don’t know what you would do with it, but I took the measuring cup out of the dog food bag and replaced it with the frosting container. The dogs approved although I left it in the unexciting white. Very clever up cycles! Your bathroom is fancy schmancy and the landfill was spared.

How do you get your candle jars so clean?

For starters, I make sure to burn the candle all the way down. Then sometimes I put it in the freezer before scrapping. After I have scrapped out as much as I can and there is only small pieces of wax and residue still attached, I use Goo Gone to get the rest out. Hope that helps! 😊💗

Do they become waterproof using mod podge?

I think more like water resistant and the more layers of mod podge you apply, the better the water resistance. Also, the diys made from plastic, glass, and metal will have a far greater resistance while the cardboard items like the makeup org and tissue box will only be able to stand up to some minor splashing so they really should not be used around any water source. The vanity caddy will fare better though since the materials the milk cartons are made out already have really good liquid resistance.
