If it was easy, everyone would have a rock crawler, its all trial and error, no two rigs are the same. Good on you to have the patience to work through it Paul. With no blue print to follow, sometimes ya gotta sleep on it before you can visualize the end result. With the front tires sticking out beyond the bumper, this thing should climb a concrete wall.

I'm a dog and cat guy. Had a friend didn't like cats. Every time he showed up Mama kitty would instantly be in his lap. He'd shove her off and say Go on cat. After about a year or less he call her Mama Kitty and talk to her and rub her. Everyone would turn their head so he didnt see us laughing. Once he had a girlfriend, they had a cat or two or three and he'd talk to em all like he'd done for years. One day somebody mentioned how he'd changed from the first month's of he and Mama Kitty. He denied it all that made it even funnier.

Found you by watching a video of Matt's off road recovery. Due to the fact there is no quality programing on regular channels you are very refreshing. Being entertaining and educational at the same time. I have work in farming and trucking and the mechanical industry for 50 years. Most of my fab work and mechanical have been from the school of hard knocks. Paul's projects are very relatable. His skill level is much higher than mine, but he does make missteps and mistakes just like the rest of us. you are a real reality show. I watch you on tv rather than the computer. this limits being able to comment. So I have taken the time to get on the computer to send you a message. Thank you for all your hard work to put these videos out. keep up the good work!

Nice progress, Paul. You're gonna have yourself a crawler that you'll be proud of and happy to drive/wheel. It will certainly be one of the more unique vehicles on the trail, but you knew that, right? Dig your frame rail air tank idea, great way to utilize space. Will be curious to see how much she weighs after all your mods are complete. I'm guessing between #3500-#4000. I'm wrenching on a '65 Corvair, but had to put that on hold for a shoulder replacement surgery that I'm recovering from now. It'll be another six months before I'm wrenching on anything, so watching your progress helps me feel a vicarious sense of completion. Looking forward to its maiden voyage.

I guess two things are true at this point: screw the rad, winch goes there, rad goes in the back. Or, narrow talll rad goes there, seemless tube goes down the chassis as a winch rope guide and a bit of extra chassis ridgidity. - honestly a rear winch and rad was spot on for me, but I was at the dafter end of off-roading :o)

I whole-heartedly agree with the statement "I'm not a cat person". The animal that my wife brought home is referred to as "four legs", because cats are damned sure not smart enough to respond to their given name, as dogs are. I give exactly two craps that my wife calls the feline "Sophia"... you can say "hey dipsh*t " in a gentle tone and the critter will come to see what you are feeding it.
