Paul and Michelle. I've never met you, but I feel I know you. I am inspired by your family values, and the business. The world would be a much better place if everyone raised their children the way you have. Until my sisters and I started watching Fabrats and Matt's videos we had no idea driving on rocks was a thing. Yah I'm 15 and a girl but this looks so fun. We watched this and I said, "we need to build some rock crawlers," and my sisters all nodded their heads yes in agreement. Our daddy though said, "there is no way I'm letting you girls do this." So it looks like the Alexander sisters are going to be sneaking around in the barn again...

After seeing the yota more and more I'm liking the rustic/ distressed look. It's the rock crawler version of a ratrod. I know personally for me I wouldn't paint it. Maybe just clear coat it to help preserve it.

Ratrods Rule!!! There's a system of painting rust, then applying a stopper when it's rusty enough and a seal coat and it looks as rusty as you want it too, but with the durability of paint/clear coat...

I've been thinking the same thing - the patina on it is beautiful, most other places in the world that truch would have been a rusted-out shell by now. Curious to see what he has in mind for the paint - Robby is gonna have a really cool canvas to work with.

@@argentum530 Is that like Derek from VGG and his "slighty" flammable finish he puts on once a year? Being in the paint and body trade I've always been trying to remove the rust. Just how do you seal rust without it doing what rust does? Oxidize, and as much as it can...

Hi Fabrats, greetings from Denmark. Your videos have been a lifesaver for me after i broke my leg in November and have been on a very slow recovery since then. I love to build stuff so being away from the workshop for two months has been really annoying. Watching your projects develop and the skills you apply have given me a ton of ideas for what I will do when I get back on two stable legs again. Your approach to the challenges combined with the (mostly unwarranted) humbleness is very refreshing. Looking forward to your next post.

You get to hang out with your kids and wife, and all that wonderful stuff, do what you do best, have them shadow you and learn some life skills, pick up some knowledge along the way, all while we enjoy watching you have fun and figure things out as you go. I love the impromptu work, of just trying something, see the gears turn in your head, and then try something else instead until it gets finished. Content over quality every day. Some people worry about looking good or setting up the lighting or what-not. And the most important thing is to just be yourself, do what you do best, and have all your true self just come through the camera.

I'm new to actually 'following' any specific KZbin channel and I stumbled across Fab Rats when they started the Golden Nugget build. I really enjoy the easy going personalities of both Paul and Michelle, their interactions with their kids and the only drama is what's for lunch? I appreciate how Paul builds stuff by eye, he uses the leveler and triangle square tool when need be, he sees it in his mind and builds it. If it doesn't work right, he fixes it. I saw something in this clip that made me appreciate him all the more. Paul was speaking at the Jamboree and the humble way he shared his faith proved why I enjoy the way he goes about his day. Keep building and I'll keep watching.

Paul you're not like everybody else... You're driven and passionate good family people... What comes through your videos is a good life and folks want to have a piece of that too. Yeah it's about fabrication and rock crawling and manly man stuff. And maybe a lot of people don't even know what they're seeing on a deeper level. It just feels good to them. I hope you're proud because I think you deserve to be. And in just a couple of weeks I thoroughly enjoyed watching many of your videos back to back to back. Partly cuz I'm a gearhead and partly cuz you make me smile. I hope you guys keep posting forever! Best wishes... Jeff 👍

I got hooked into your channel from my other half, now we both watch it. While you thanked everyone for watching, it's you & your family/friends who make it enjoyable. The knowledge, the fun with family/friends, the oops, your kids' projects, Michelle's "guess the part" (I bet she knows more than ya think!😁), etc. Can't wait for the Golden Nugget to be done.

Congrats Paul, nice work. I love way it looks and sounds. Amassing machine! I think it awesome how your whole family and friends were involved in building it and you let them have a spin at the wheel. Your talk about having the U Tube channel and how it has changed your life. Very heart touching and proclaiming your faith. Machelle, you have a great guy there. I can't wait to see more great things you will do, that you haven't even thought of yet!

Awesome video. Amazing trail rides with good friends is always a blast but I really appreciated the Q&A section and was happy to see Mrs. Lalee helping out in the booth at the end. Now on to the nugget and the jeepster. After a quick break though of course. 😳

Love that you started your first KZbin channel to share with friends and family that's the same reason we started ours. It was awesome to meet you guys at winter 4x4 jamboree. We definitely enjoyed getting an up close look at the FJ that is one awesome rig that you built.

Wow - what an amazing rig. All that, and it's "brand new", yet you still let family and friends drive it on trails that are more difficult than what 99% of off-roaders would ever dare try. Nice job Paul.

That looked like a lot of fun, and seeing the smile on your sons face in the drivers seat, I bet you helped him make one of his forever memories. It’s funny how childhood memories, can feel so insignificant to us at the time. Yet when we get older, and start looking back, they become some of our most cherished memories. 🙏🏻🇺🇸
