I am brown skinned so when I woke up I had a slight white cast on my skin.... so I wiped my face with a damp cloth... that removed the white cast and I applied the two serums (aveeno and cocokind) both of which she has recommended and my skin was nice and glowing. SAME! 💯 I have had an inflamed skin barrier/dry sensitive skin redness ever since destroying my skin barrier in my 30s using a Clarisonic in an attempt to clean my skin thoroughly and properly. At that time I was seeing an aesthetician and having facials once a month in attempts to repair my skin barrier and dermatologica was the only products my skin could tolerate and while I was seeing benefits, it is also incredibly expensive. I’m 47 now and I still have extremely dry and sensitive skin, redness in both cheeks, and uneven skin texture. No matter what products I try to use to combat the redness. I have used Laroche Posay tolerine cleanser and it has helped a lot in terms of irritation and Tower 28 redness rescue line. But I’m definitely going to try this method and see if I can achieve a noticeable difference. My goal is to achieve skin like yours where I can use minimal products if I choose to instead of look as if my skin is dry, flaky, red, itchy, or patchy. I love makeup, but on the daily, I’m really trying to find products to incorporate in my skin care routine that works consistently to combat the problems I’ve described, gently exfoliate, making sure that I use tinted moisturizer with sunscreen on the days when I’m not working because I do live in Florida. I would love to hear your thoughts and any recommendations you have to offer. I also bought one of the light therapy devices that everyone is asking for your opinion on and I do notice a huge difference in the overall tightness of my skin, which I am absolutely thrilled about because I have always struggled with a double or triple chin, even though I am not drastically overweight. I was born with CP and have to use a power wheelchair because I’m unable to walk. I also have CRPS (which stands for chronic reflexive pain syndrome) and high CRP levels in my blood, which has been explained to me by Drs.as c-reactive protein resulting in high inflammatory response rate in my entire body. I am also a Dr., although not an MD, I do have an extensive knowledge in the healthcare and medical field. I’ve just recently discovered your channel (unfortunately, I’ve been in the hospital since December 2023 after breaking both of my knees and legs due to a fall for my wheelchair). The healing process has been an extraordinarily slow and difficult one. But on the bright side, it is giving me time to explore different topical areas to study which I love such as skincare. And also how I became aware of your channel. I’m fascinated by your videos and I thoroughly enjoy them. So don’t be surprised if you see more questions or commentary by me in future videos :-) You have a way of breaking things down that is not only accessible and easy to understand by your audience, but achievable for results. Keep up the great work. I would love to one day come and have an assessment and evaluation by you regarding my skin’s needs and your personalized recommendations. Thank you for all you do and I look forward to hopefully seeing more videos talking about the benefits/advantages to using light therapy devices.

I'm not sure if it's only supposed to be a compliment but if it's actually a genuine question I'll answer it. Make-up is a hobby and the skin is the canvas. It doesn't matter what the skin looks like, you still want to do your hobby. Some people think that makeup is only meant for covering "flaws." The view on that has been shifting for quite a few years now though. I think the trend has been going more towards body positivity and enhancing the features we like about ourselves instead of trying to cover up what we don't like. That's my personal take on it though. I hope this helped you in understanding a little.

I used it on the skin right up to my eyes with no issues (because the skin around my eyes was inflamed). The only thing is I didn't wake up looking like Shereene. I had blotches of dried Sudocrem in various places on my face. I had to wash my face very well straight away in the morning and then, I saw the great results. My grandma had the worst anxiety and she would pick her skin as a result of anxiety and panic attacks. I could always tell how stressed she was by looking at her face and arms. She would pick without even realizing. Well growing up I was used to seeing her use Vaseline and Neosporin. Then I noticed her using my son’s diaper rash cream. I asked her why she would use that on her sores and she told me how much better they are when she covered them in the Desitin. So I ended up over using my retinol and ended up with a huge rash on my neck and around my eyes. I wipped out the diaper rash cream and woke up and noticed just how much better it was! Absolutely awesome to see that my gram was on to something! Thank god she doesn’t pick as much as she used to since she retired.

Dr. Thank you so much for sharing this brilliant idea. It completely cleared my 5 year old ezcema. She had 1 rash on the left side of her mouth and 1 rash on the right side of her mouth. The rashes measure around 2 inches in lenght. They were not only red and inflammed but also the skin look like fish scales. Thank you for helping solve this 4 year battle. I have collected so many creams but they didn't help.❤❤

Hi Dr. Idriss! I’d love a video on what we can do to minimize discoloration from sun damage on places like arms, shoulders, and chest. Would Amlactin help?
@louise2008 ай бұрын
They've changed the formulation of the LRP Cicaplast Balm B5. Added some new ingredients. The texture is completely different. From soothing my skin it is now inflaming it - massively. I have found a lot of people having issues with it, so it is not just me. It was perfect as it was... why they do this? 😭 I'll definitely be trying some of the others on your recommended list.

Hi Dr Idriss, just wanna thank you for sharing with us your valuable knowledge. I ordered the triple paste after your video and tried it on my hands. I’ve been plagued with hand dermatitis since 2003’s SARS outbreak after damaging my skin barrier from over sanitising my hands. I’ve never had skin on my hands so calm before without the help of antihistamine etc. I still applied steroid cream first before a layer of vanicream moisturiser and locked it in with thick layer of the butt paste. Sealed with cotton gloves. When I work from home I do that in day time if not I do nightly too. It has since changed my life. Thank you so much once again! 🙏

Eucerin Senstive Mineral Zinc Oxide Protection SPF 50 formulation is 24% Zinc Oxide! Its thicker and whiter than Cicalfate but i find it to be very soothing. I will layer all kinds of creams on my face when it's feeling itchy. Cetaphil Advanced Relief Cream with Shea Butter is excellent as well.

Thank you for the informative video! I just want to mention how happy it makes me to see that you enjoy scents in your skincare! I am like that too, and it simply baffles me how most people are terrified of scents in skincare; people are massively “allergic” (paranoia?) and refuse to enjoy a pleasant smell in skincare! It makes the experience soooo much nicer! So thank you for mentioning! ❤️

Some people truly have sensitivities/allergies to fragrance. There’s nothing wrong with that and there’s no need to look down on people who have those issues.

Great video, Dr. Idriss. One question: Mornings after skin basting, are you still only washing your face with water or are you washing with a gentle cleanser like Vanicream? Thanks!
@nikusaiyan988610 ай бұрын
Would love to know also but personally i have found that cicaplast is not possible to remove with water alone, you have to either use a cleanser or a washcloth. You could also try konjac sponge but I've found it too gentle to remove it.

Think the new formulation of cicaplast is not as thick so it would be easier to wash off

Two things before I get to my question: 1) CONGRATULATIONS ON GETTING YOUR OWN LINE ROLLING SO NICELY! 2) i have six children and am very familiar with the diaper blow out...UGH! 3) My QUESTION: I started using L'Oreal Revitalift a couple of months ago, and I noticed a real difference after only a couple of weeks with almost no irritation using it every other night. But over the last couple of weeks I began to notice darkening around my eyes, not quite "raccoon" eyes but quickly darkening. I only put the L'Oreal near my eyes with a vaseline buffer, but could the retinol be causing the darkening? That's my question. Thank you Dr Idriss. You're FABULOUS and funny and gorgeous!

Yeah my face hates zinc lol. Even mineral sunscreens. Instead of healing, skin gets more dry, red, irritated, itchy.

You might be allergic or have a sensitivity. Same happens to me with skincare/makeup that is high in silicones (dimethicone, trimethicone, etc)

@@cattrainfit8393 yes, I think so too. I've also been blessed with the same sensitivity to snail mucin, centella, panthenol (yup even panthenol which is supposed to be amazing for calming and soothing), glycerin and a whole bunch of other ingredients that are good for normal people lol

Apart from the obvious wow, and thank you. I love the simple down to earthness you have and the normal bathroom, not staged and all ‘perfect’ it’s a used bathroom. Toothpaste on the side, a slightly damp towel from drying hands, normal products in the background not expensive only used for show products. It’s very refreshing in this time so thank you and butt paste bought ready for ghost facing tonight!! 😁

From one female physician to another, cheers! Question about the triple cream you slathered on-that same company makes a sheer version with 12.8% zinc oxide-how is that possible, and would it work the same way as the non-sheer?
