a suggestion I would love to see is a video on eyelids. Early 50s late 40s eyelids. There are SO many videos and products that talk about eyes, but it is allllll under eyes. As I get wiser, I find my eyelids are doing a weird crepey thing, doing make up is ten times harder, and finding info about upper eyes is so darn difficult! Thanks you for all your amazing advice!

I put Vaseline all over my eye area/lids at night. Works great. You can use a regular face/body cream on your eyes during the day. The older we get, we have to focus on skin prep and changing how we do our makeup if we wore it when younger. I don’t do much foundation and minimal concealer. I stick with a one and done eye shadow if at all (creamy formula is better than powder for me) and use a little lighter eyeliner than I used to. I use a tubing mascara now and only on my top lashes. My main “foundation” is a tinted SPF (usually mineral because of allergies). I save the way I used to do makeup for special occasions now. I’m 52.

Have discovered using 2 Biossance products on the eyelids stops dryness and extreme itching….wash face with Amino Aloe Squalene Gentle Cleanser. Dry. Then lightly mist Squalene Hyaluronic Toning Mist. Daily. Crepe, dryness, and extreme itch are gone ! If eyes or face need a humectant when I am out of my home, I mist with Super Serum Hydrating Mist by rms. Lovely product.

@GenXVictoria Love ❤️ this routine. I do the same but use a touch of cream blush and skip tinted moisturizer unless I'm going out for a special occasion. I use oil based face cleanser and eucerin cream two to three days a week to keep face moisturizeredat night. Thanks to Dr Idress I saved my face with the zinc oxide slather when my skin feaked out with the 🥶 a few weeks ago.

@SheShopsShe Eats I thought the same thing when I was looking to buy Pond's cold cream a few years ago. In fact, I seem to recall that I contacted to company to get their recommendation on which of their products was closest to the original formulation. I ended up with the one with a pastel green lid. It's called Pond's cold cream CLEANSER. I remember it as having a fragrance, though, & this smells the same as the original to me.

I live in a pre-war New York City apartment and the heat is either on or it's off there's no modulating it. And in the winter time, the humidity in here rarely reaches 10%, and 0% for days at a time is very common. I'm 73 and already have dry skin, so getting through the winter is a real challenge. For a cleanser I use a very gentle yet highly effective one called Prequel that contains 50% glycerin and comes in an enormous (13.5 fl oz) bottle and if I recall correctly, it's less than $20. (by Dr Sam Ellis) Lasts forever. One pump into left palm, squirt in some glycolic acid by The Ordinary, rub palms together and apply to dry skin on face. Lightly massage in to dissolve makeup or face products and then add a bit of water and smooth it down to neck and chest. With a tad more water you'll be able to also use it on your hands and forearms. All with just one pump! I do this 2-3 times a week, especially in winter because of the occlusive moisturizers.

I'm new here so this is hands down one of the best hacks to lock in moisture in the skin. Your glycerin video with the travel mister has me hooked so I bought one along with the rose water. I assume I used the right proportion but I find it hard to breathe in the mist. I'm attributing it to the organic rose water I used by SilkySecret. I don't want to give up on the product because it feels and smells refreshing. I just might need to adjust the proportion and use less product. Also is glycerin even needed with that product? Let me know what you think?
