Great video! I learned a lot. I can't seem to find an answer to this complaint I have from a member: "Why do I get notified when someone joins the group. Turn it off!" I can't figure out how to do that for them. Thoughts?

So I just found out that even if you have post approval, your members can still post pictures on your albums or even create their own albums on your group without authorization! This makes no sense & there’s no option to turn this off. Post approval only works for posts on the group timeline. If there’s a way to fix this, let me know please. Thanks..

Great video Jerry. I was hoping to find a way to require post approval JUST for businesses posting in our group. We don't want to have to approve posts for regular members. But it looks like it's all or nothing. True?

None of these things helped me figure out why my Facebook group does not show up in search. It is public, visible, active...but does not show up when people search for it. On Google is says no information is available for this page. I always wondered why the other group gets all the members and I do all the work. Everyone tags me on the other group because they think it is my page. If I start over with a new group I lose the 1.6 thousand people who have been there for 6 years. HELP!

I don't think there is any way to move the Guides button. It shows at the top on mobile and desktop, unless you're IN the guides in which case it shows up on the left.

In our group we added membership questions and now want to add another question. How can we do this ? It's not giving me the option to add. Do we have to delete questions and start over ?

Do you have a video that shows how to make the featured section show up at the top of the discussion page and stay open all the time? I have one group that has that and I created another group where I tried to do the same thing and it will not allow it to happen. The group where that works was created by someone else. I acquired the group because no one was administrating it. I have yet another group that has the featured section at the top, but it is not always open. You have to click on it to see what's in it. I can provide screenshots and/or links to show you. In one group the featured section has a pinned note telling people to read the rules and the rules are pinned right next to it in the featured section. I can't get the other group to do that. Do you also have a video that shows how to make it so that the rules must be read and acknowledged that they have been read before you can move on? Either will work. I have also tried to to pin that message telling people to read the rules first. That will not stay at the top of the page. If I post anything after that, it moves down just like any other post. I would also like to pin the rules near the top so that they are right there to be accessed. Can you please help. Thank you

I have an issue I am an adminstrator of a Facebook Group. I noticed recently that my posts are not stating that I am the administrator of the group, this sems to have vanished. What is causing this and is there away of correcting it? My posts are only showing my name and not the admin. status next to it as it was doing. Very frustrating.

I am a member of a large, private group whose front page for non members just shows “about” and 3 items under group activity. It doesn’t show admin name or rules or anything until joining. How do I do that? I just created a group and on the front page before joining it says I’m the admin (which I’d prefer to hide until people are members), shows location, rules, shows private, visible… how do I have the non member page be simple? How do I have them agree to the rules when submitting request to join?

What would you suggest for a really active facebook group that wants to limit the number of people who can sign up for events? It's a hiking group with 2000+ members, and as you can imagine, having 50 people sign up for a hike is a problem! I found that business accounts/pages can add a ticketing function, but I'm not sure where that leaves us for a solution since the group is not part of a business. All events are free and currently anyone can post an event to the group, fyi.

You'd have to use a different tool. Maybe Eventbrite? There used to be a Facebook integration with Eventbrite, but I'm not sure it's still works.

We have a local High School group with only 1 admin (& no mods) and that person passed away and has been taken over by scammer posts. Is there a way for someone to get appointed admin for this group ?

My group is locale specific but get massive requests to join from India, Bangladesh etc. is there a way to auto decline other countries?

Unfortunately not automatically. You can try and put that on your Cover Photo or in the first part of the group description so fewer non locals might apply. You can also click More Filters on your Member Requests page and sort by location.

Do you know of a way to pass ownership of a group? My friend has a group and they no longer want to own it and want to pass it on to me but we cannot find a way to pass ownership of it.

They can just add you to the group as an Admin. Then remove themselves.

@mrjerrypotter but does that give full ownership? I am 1 of 5 admins and the other person is the creator of the group. The owner wants to leave the group but wants to pass sole ownership to me and not the other admins.

@ technically there is no such thing as a group owner. There are only Admins and moderators. Obviously someone created the group, but they are just an admin.

I just made a group private. I want it visible so I selected visible. Nobody can search for it. What am I doing wrong. I know private groups can search for groups to join. I'm going out of my mind with Facebook. I set up a group 8 months ago, a small number of members 1k. I have it set so that I approve all posts before they're posted. Recently I've noticed it's automatically approving posts, I haven't changed any settings. 🤔Please help!!

Sounds like a bug, but double check your settings and make sure you are the ONLY one who can approve.

Why are some people allowed to be requested and invited in, and it goes through fine, and others in your Friends list are not able to be added in? As far as I know, the setting is allowed for anyone to invite anyone. It's a private family page. My cousin isn't able to invite his friends/family. Frustrating. I like that part about removing a inactive admin… though 6 days is definitely to short of a period. I am in a group right now where the admin hasn’t been active since August 3rd, 2023. So as you can guess it has been over ram with scammers who have zero respect for the groups rules, smh. Many people including myself have tried to reach out to the old admin, and offer assistance with no luck. SMH

Why has FB removed the ability to change our group pages from public to private? FB removed the icon in the top right corner of our group pages and removed “Manage Group” option from our group pages. People are posting porn on our pages and we can’t change the privacy settings.
