My mother is buried here and I come here often. Where she is buried use to be lots of Grandmothers and Grandfathers buried nearby, now it's so many young men it's a shame.

I love these because alot of them no longer get thought of. I myself have set up my arrangements. At the moment I have the ashes of 6 dogs, my mommas ashes, will have my dads, and more dogs if that's Gods will. All of the urns will be placed in the casket with me and I have a beautiful spot, in a very beautiful place indoors. We all will be together forever.

Unfortunately, the majority of those young guys died due to gang relationship or robbery. I lived in Chicago in the 90's and lost quite a few friends to those reasons. RIP

Everytime a passed persons name is mentioned or observed on the stones brings those individuals back to life for a few moments. Once the names are forgotten the people go back to obscurity. So it's a wonderful thing that you do Lamont. I wonder if our names will be mentioned a hundred years from now.

I did see the murder of LaQuan... It was awful!!. I had never seen it b4 and surprisingly, I was unaware of the murder until now. I live in another state and at that time, I was working on a heavy project and wasn't watching the news much. Thanks for bring his story forward and visiting his grave.

So sad how these young people are passing. That song “what the world needs now, is love”. I agree that some of these kids, didn’t have a chance from the get go. I’m a white woman but was in a similar situation. I ended up pregnant at 16, my mom kicked me out. Some teachers reached out to me and got me on the straight line. They need to have something in the area, where younger kids can go just to talk. No need to have name or personal information. Sometimes anonymity makes a huge difference

I really enjoy your videos especially the historical education on who the people were and how they died..the only thing I find myself doing is wishing you would slowly scan the terrain and show the cemetery and all the different graves..sometimes I see them in the back drop when your talk and I'm like Lamont show me those lol...love what you do though it's so awesome!!

The National Gun Memorial is also a resource you can use to find information as well as Find a Grave. On both websites you can leave flowers ( F A Grave) or light a candle (NGM).

Another great video Lamont. The rest of the country hears about the problem of gun violence in Chicago, but they rarely get to see a name or a face to go with the tragic story. And sadly the biased media in my perception still doesn’t think that black on black violence is that big of a deal. Well, no matter what color you are, all life matters and is precious.

You know we must keep fathers in the home. Why does the government persist on separating families.? They tried doing that to my mom and dad when I was growing up. Dad got laid off and we had no money. And the only way they would give Mom food they said Daddy left. but my parents refuse to do that! So many young people have died. Prayers for all.

About 10 years ago, my friend and I got the Star Ledger newspaper here in NJ. Just about every day, the Star Ledger published an article about Newark gang-related fatal shootings taking place from the early evening throughout the night. On occasion, little kids would get caught in the cross-fires while walking to the store or playground. My friend's husband commented, "If you live in Newark, just don't go outside after six pm." Unfortunately, the subject in this video mimics Newark's tragedy. I don't know if the shootings continue in Newark, but I have the feeling that they do.
