I did 450 in various places. Started off attempting a thru, tendonitis in both knees forced me off. Cycle of heal, hike, re-injure. It's very much a student quality piece (was my senior capstone), and I hope to revisit it with a higher level of production soon.

Bob Peoples is a truly wonderful man. I had the good fortune to get a shuttle from his late wife several years ago. She was such a sweet, sweet person and I still remember our conversation all these years later. I really enjoyed this video and it brought back so many rich memories. I need to get back out on the AT.

I've been thinking for a long time on doing a thru-hike of the AT. This video convinced me to train to do so.

That was an excellent compilation. I attempted in 95 and spent a while wandering, 3 1/2 months. This video nailed my experience in many ways. Good job. My mind longs for it many times. Soon.

Incredible video. No offense to National Geographic, but I think you've shown the spirit of the trail better than their documentary did. Well done.

Both times I hiked part of/the whole trail, I met people I liked before I even reached the trail. Didn't stay with them the whole trail, those people took a couple of weeks to find.

3:10 "In the mountains, we forget to count the days". Ancient Proverb (Chinese I think). Seems right to me. Neat video. As the Eskimos say, it's all about people, people, people. Best wishes from the UK. Carry on. 8)

Glad you spent a lot of time talking to Elmer and especially Bob, he's quite a guy. Out of curiosity, how much of the trail did you hike? I see you interviewed Hillbilly at the Kennebec, but most of the interviews were south of VA...

I don't use the term "trail angel", and my reasoning goes like this: If it's trail magic, wouldn't that be done by a "trail magician"? Accuracy counts or it doesn't. I think it should.

We'll done, impressive achievement in capturing a sense of what it is to be part of the AT community. However, only by being immersed into the AT community can one become a member. Son Driven

I like to think that anyone who takes the time to enjoy any part of the trail, and who feels as though they are a part of the community, IS a part of the community. We're all one big group of crazy hikers!

If I were to walk that trail, I would start in Main and go to Georgia instead of the other way, that's all up hill, from Main to Georgia is down hill. I looked at it on the map, anybody can see that.

If you spread the elevation difference over a 2000 mile distance, it's pretty insignificant.

@eugenebell8310 жыл бұрын
IamNocternal nah, couldn't be. Otherwise, why do people say "down south, and up north?"
@RepeatMusic10110 жыл бұрын
Because naturally people assume that north is up and south is down. For instance, if you look at a compass or map, north is always the top
