Thank you for the review! It's very refreshing to hear someone pro and con these brushes a little more, as most KZbinrs who I've seen talk about them haven't even mentioned the luxury price tag of these brushes, which is a huge part of why I've never been able to bite the bullet on them

It's very interesting to hear your review. Everyone has been raving about them. But they don't look that different and special to me and also I find the website really annoying. And I think they are overpriced. I feel like a lot that got them in PR might have raved about them because they were chosen to get these very expensive brushes for free

I mean, I think your last part is a little unfair. Everyone has different tastes, and they don't have to be mine. But I will say that I did get the face set for the holidays, and I do really really like them. I don't make videos anymore, but I've been thinking about doing an update on this. I really like the cuts of the brushes and they are softer than other brushes I own. I even got the "final" version of the brush I reviewed here and it is softer, so it seems like they take user feedback seriously. I hope that's helpful!

@@FacesByGina that's great to know. Of course, they don't have to share your tastes, that's just the way I feel about how they were influencer marketed. To me it felt like Rephr flooded the smaller influencer community. But hey what do I know I haven't even tried them 🤗 I'm glad you like them

@@ems_h.eartnotes No I totally get where you're coming from with that. I think that's part of the reason why I was so disgruntled in this review, haha. But I'm glad my partner got me the face set, because I do really like them. I'm considering diving a bit more into the fude natural brush world as well. So we'll see how that goes, haha

I haven’t checked their site out for a while, but I remember when I last looked the ‘bespoke’ brushes were customisable; three different handle lengths to choose from and three different bristle lengths (I think) per brush type, which I believe could be ‘mixed & matched’. I looked into them because they seemed to be being so hyped, but the price turned me completely off. Thanks for such a balanced and well-worded video on this 💖😸

Thank you! If those options were there, I didn't see them when I looked most recently. But that sounds similar to what I read on the Kickstarter

I agreed with your review regarding softness. I have this brush and sensitive skin and didn’t think it was soft enough.

I often use the same face brush for all powder products, blush, bronze, highlight, and just dust of excess pigment. I felt like their earliest brushes were mainly for powder products.

Interesting review! I appreciate your balanced approach. I’d be so curious what you think of their eye brushes if you got any, as those are the only ones I’ve been looking into because my eye skin is sensitive and flaky due to acne treatment.

You should never use cleaning products that contain alcohol for natural hair brushes. And I find that you definately can use the same brush for all the powder products for the face. You just wipe it gently against a towel in between!

You’re totaly right, if you use one brush for foundation, contour and blush you’r have to clean it everyday to be ready for the next day, and it would take some time to dry. It’s just not realistic!

Exactly. I haven't seen that marketing lately so maybe they've pivoted away from it. I hope so!

I picked up one eye brush that was in their prototype stage for half off. That was the only way I could afford it. While they may be phenomenal, I'm just not will to pay more than $15 for an eye brush.....sorry?

That is the point of purchasing a prototype...correct? So that you can use it and then give the company an honest review. And for $45 you can get four brushes at that cost right now. Most eye brushes are $24 each and they are BOGO right now. All of their bespoke brushes are customizable. But even their core collection can come with the choice between the matte black or the “pro”, which has the black gloss handle and silver ferrel. And it has always been that way. So the last part of your review is REALLY confusing to me.

Hey, thanks for your comment! At the time I did this video and review (towards the end of the preorder phase), the customizable handles were not available or not clearly labeled on the site. The customizer tool they have now was not there, and the sale they're having was not a thing. So even if it's that way now, it wasn't that way before. And even if it was, it was not well designed so one could find it and understand it. The purpose of doing the prototype program is to give feedback! I don't know if anyone at rephr saw this video or how my feedback form was used, but, in theory, that part of my review helped them create the tools they have on the site now.
