What I want from a hype article: • A summary of the team’s special rule. • A datacard from one of the operatives on that team. • A Strategic & a Firefighter ploy. That’ll give us a taste of what’s changed & what’s the same.

Regular troopers with a special rule isn't totally a brand new thing. Consider the Kasrkin Trooper with "Elite Trooper", the Mandrake Warrior with "Shadow Warrior" They have experimented with this idea of giving a basic trooper some kind of small special rule before.

There’s 2 things I’m looking for in updated team rules. Kroot absolutely suck and can’t kill despite being a kill team. Considering the new edition is putting emphasis on killing in kill team I’m hoping they get some big changes. I love Kroot and the models look great just let them do something this time. Or hell give them a Kroot ox back like compendium Kroot had and I’ll play them even if they’re still trash. I’m also curious to see what they do with felgor this time. I love melee teams and beastmen but I get why people hate playing against them. They also seem to nerf felgor every balance slate. So I’m hoping this time they can find a better balance without gutting the goats.

We're probably going the AoS route where they release daily hype articles for each where they show the main faction ability, maybe a few ploys, a couple of datacards, and a piece or two of equipment

Really hoping troopers are a viable option this time around. There were many teams where they just wouldn’t be chosen for any good reason, which didn’t make complete sense to me from a game design perspective. A lot of the basic trooper models were just super cool as well and I wanted an actual reason to build them for the game haha. Here’s to hoping!

man I would LOVE if standard troops were more than fillers. either via reduced equipment costs, special rules/abilities that target them, increases objective control, or purchasable upgrades just for them. I'll take anything. Also my farstalkers still need a krootox.

THE DOUBLE HELLO SOUND IS BACK!!! Anyway, I want to see Angels of Death. I need to know what it is!!! Went 2-1 yesterday ending at 2nd place with Intercession in a pod full of Wyrmblade, Salvagers, Kommandos, and Fellgors. I want to continue playing these guys!

Its not true legends, theyve at least send the none 'authoirsed' teams or whatever there call it, are still going to get rules and balance updates, just not going to be part of their 'tournment approved lists' so they'll at least be a bit more reasonable to play during like club nights etc .

They are lasting through the end of this new edition (3 more years) with regular balance updates. They simply won't be useable in select Classified-tournaments after 1 year. I suppose if all you want to do is play in Classified-tournaments, then for you they will last just 1 year.
