Bricky doesn't make the most lore accurate videos but he makes the most digestible ones. When venturing into 40K lore it's easy to get lost or melt your brain. Bricky does a good job of showing you around while keeping your sanity intact. I recommend ALL his videos

Bricky is easily the best creator for any newcomers. It’s like having a friend who’s super into warhammer and having him explain it to you. There may be some minor inaccuracies, but he still knows what he’s talking about and it’s easy to understand. You learn the more in depth stuff after the fact, and correct the inaccuracies along the way.

Im glad Brickys videos get people interested in the lore but he glosses over the main attribute of blanks. Yes people feel uncomfortable around them but the most important thing is that nothing warp based effects them. Psykers power and demons get nullified. They are also VERY rare

Fun fact, the Emperor didn't just kill Horus, he erased that mf. In wh40k universe when you die your souls goes to the Warp, but the emperor erased Horus' entire existence including his soul

Oh and the custodes aren't created in tubes, they were once normal people. When they are very young children they are taken. In one of the books the custodian Ra has memories of when he was taken. There's also more about this in the Watchers of the Throne book. We don't know the process or even all the things done to them though. I'm also pretty sure they don't age at all. They can die in battle of course but not through old age, disease or poison

Space marine 2 can be good if you’re more into them, but if you like the idea of being a human in this universe, I recommend games like Darktide and Necromunda: Hired Gun. The latter is a bit janky but I still like it

Ok, size and scale; When it comes to populations, don't try to relate to it when it comes to Earth now. Instead think of the fact that he said a million worlds. Let's go small, let's say 1 million earths. Earth has a population of around 8 billion. We have a birth rate of around 350,000 per day with a death rate of around 300,000 per day. So net gain of around 50,000. If we translate into 40K numbers with that, 50,000 x 1,000,000 = 50,000,000,000. That's 50 trillion live births everyday. And this is just using lowball our numbers right now. In 40K there are some cities known as hive cities that have 10 times Earth's population in them. Earth itself in 40K is claimed to have one quadrillion people living on it. Population is not finite. The human population, and these are just populations that aren't force grown, are rapid and spread fast. The death toll may be extreme, but it is nothing compared to the birth rate. 1000 Psykers a day spread out across a million worlds, boarded onto black ships that sail to Earth across the warp. Are then sacrificed to keep warp travel available to all of humanity. Scale is often one of the biggest hurdles new people have to deal with. Whenever you're hearing it, just weigh it against the fact that humanity is in control of a million worlds, take into account sizes, he'll say stuff like ships that are the size of a continent. Think of an overpacked continent of the United States, and that is a simple starship. I hope this helps and I can't wait to see more, Cheers -Alpharious-
