PTNLemay Not sure, but a whole lot, and they only generate power during the day, so they would need to store all the excess, something which they just don't have enough iron to mass produce, since their production of iron plates is still relatively low.

like to try and solve their energy problem Lewis: Concerning the power situation of the factory: your steam plant is indeed not producing enough energy for your factory. when looking at the energy overview, keep in mind that the bar next to consumption represents how the percentage of maximum energy DEMANDS which is being met, while the bar next to energy production represents what percentage of the potential energy production is being used. I would recommend adding more boilers to the system, as it seems unlikely that the current coal consumption is enough to power your massive operation. it may be prudent to move energy production closer to the coal fields too, so that the complicated network currently in place to move the coal around can be simplified. p.s. a good indication of the power production is not the inserters, that build up a small internal storage then use it to move, but the speed of the buildings that need a constant supply, such as the mines, which have been running slow.

Lewis u need more power! Hover over some (different) machines and look at the right. There u can see electricity, it need to be full!! At all machines. U can up the power with more steam engines, they need water, so when you hover over them the water bar needs to be full! The steamengines need warm water, when you hover over the pipes with your mouse u can see the tempeture on the right. It need to be at 100. Every normal pipe (nog boiler) will cool the water.

SIPS !! LEWIS !! You need TONS more boilers and steam engines, your power is in a bad way, has been for a while, you need 4-5 times more than you have. Try 1 pump then 14 boilers then 10 steam engines all in a row, you will need maybe a vertical stretch of land to do it cause it takes up alot of space but its a very efficient setup. Also you could really do with upgrading all your inserters to fast inserters, you can place new assemblers and inserter over the top of the old and it will replace and put old one in your inventory. with the assemblers it will keep the settings it had before. Good Luck getting this message :D

Lewis red belt production is hindering their red pots production really hard, since he added a quick grabber at the start of the cogs production line and is grabbing pretty much every cog, barely any passes it, and the few that does gets grabbed by the belts and grabbers factory, making pretty much none reach the red pots factories to make them.

You need more iron plates but you don't need more drills, the only reason production is halted because you there isn't nearly enough power. Electric furnaces are handy because they don't need to be fed with coal but they are a massive energy hog. Just look at the drills, they're moving so slowly. Sort it out!

I have been using Cities Skylines traffic layouts for factorio lines, It works really well.

Lewis knows nothing, the inverters don't put it on the west, it puts it on its relative right. Also, the iron ore splitting system is super inefficient, they need splitters, not this weird inserted system.

I really wish they would stop using inserters to transfer across conveyors. They are for inserting into machines, everything else needs to use a complex series of splitters and conveyors to provide constant flow without power usage. God damn it.
