And I thought my 2+12+2 pull-push trains were long, because most tutorials and let'splays only used 1 loco with 4 cars and many many train sets and waiting areas.

The multiple station loading and moving forward 4 trainlenghts, is actually a pretty clever idea. also its 256k, so its has to be beautiful.

I'm currently working on a map for 3-60 trains (yes, I like 'em "realistic", that thing, tested it works on another map, accelerates more sluggishly, like a real train). But: in order to have the room between ores, I though I'd make RSO's region bigger. Now, having set the region to 50 (from 7), I'm still searching for ores. I'm already all out of iron in the starting area. Hope I find iron before I run out of radars :D

why not double track the thing and put a couple of 4-16 trains on it, or maybe even 8-32 ones if you're feeling extra spicy

Long trains are very real. As I count the wagons, I encounter a locomotive pulling 30-40, sometimes 50 wagons.

it's better to smelt the ore first, since ore stacks have a lower maximum than plate stacks. Just a suggestion.

Wait wait. So if that's 30 million copper, and this train carries about 256k copper each trip... This train can only do about 120 trips

I have multiple mines and the train only visits the ones with the enough most ore in it's chests. So when the mine is not producing fast enough, the train goes to farther mines to fill up.

I'm running it on nuclear fuel. It lasts a long time and it gets resupplied automatically.

They are set to 2 seconds of inactivity. The station only opens when there is enough items in the chests to completely fill the train, or else the system would break down.

@@michaellundgren6949 the air conditions where you could set the train to move on when it has a certain number of items. Knowing exactly how much each car takes at each station you could set it so that the train moves on to the next station when it reaches a certain amount. Because those conditions are train-stop specific (that is set in the train schedule not in the station circuitry) they can be different for each station.

Multi-tracks don't work well with trains this long. All blocks need to be all chain signals until there is a block long enough to fit a 32-128 train.
