Menace lol like ..all u type is different era .. Lebron aint played a great team or center in over a decade in a half.. Let check lebron skills- sloppy handles, no post game for his size, just gain a constant set shot in year 18, not constant jumpshooter, plays no defense, scared of late game free throw, one dimensional ,and weak minded.. Look at Kobe's defensive stats. Kobe didn't earn any of those Defensive First Team selections. Kobe was a defensive liability and even Phil Jackson said Kobe was defensively overrated.

Pure stats without context is still a garbage take. Kobe played in an era where points were so hard to come by. The league was averaging 96 ppg during the 2000’s with a league average fg% of 44.9. Kobe shot 45.7% from the field in the HARDEST era to score. Furthermore, league MVP is more of a media darling award. Kobe finished top 5 in MVP voting 11 times. The other players with the same or higher top 5 finishes in MVP voting: Kareem, Lebron, Bill Russell.. all multiple MVPs. Jordan has 10 top 5 finishes, 5 league MVPs. Wilt 10 top 5, 4 league MVPs. Meanwhile, players like Steph Curry finished top 5 3 times but has 2 league MVPs, same with Nash. I could go on, there are A LOT that have been left out of context with this stats only take.

I’m sorry but growing up in that era I knew Bron would surpass him, I feel like he’s either extremely overrated or underrated. The fact that dudes are putting him below 10 is criminal but 5 is too high, it’s sad really that he passed but I’ve seen way more people underrating him rather than overrating him tbh

People do the same with Lebron. The fact that the league started dwindling in defense just before Lebron started hitting his prime is something people dismiss on purpose. The best time for the sport was 80's and 90's. Why? Defense made the game tougher.

Another point that should be made is the fact that Kobe only has 1 MVP award, compared to Jordan’s 5 and Lebron’s 4, and technically Kobe shouldn't have any MVPs because the MVP in 2008 should have been either Lebron or Chris Paul. During the 2008 season Lebron averaged more points, more assists, more rebounds, better field goal%, better 2 point%, more blocks, and the same amount of steals as Kobe that year. Chris Paul that year averaged a double double, he was the leader in player efficiency rating that year, he was the leader in box +/-, and he was the leader in win shares that year as well. How Kobe managed to win MVP that year is beyond me. So considering the fact that Kobe's 1 MVP award of his career wasn't deserved, that means he was never the best player in the league during his career. Kobe was never the best player in the league, and yet he's somehow top 5 of all time according to a lot of basketball fans, lmao. Kobe is without a doubt the most overrated player in NBA history. I'm so sick and tired of hearing this "mamba mentality" bullshit, numbers don't lie.

kobe had a case tho in those years. He lead the lakers that season when Pau only played 27 games due to the trade in the deadline memphis did also andrew Byum was injured. without Kobe there the worst team in the league. Kobe took that squad to 65 wins and Kobe was the better shooter then Bron. eye test proves that while defensively and rebounding Bron was better. Numbers aren`t always accurate.

True Lakers fan boys worship Kobe but it is time for a reality check. I remember watching Kobe chucking up shots in double and triple coverage. He would miss 4 in a row then make one and they would put it on sportcenter. It is ridiculous. Also his passing wasn't even average passing for a shooting guard.

I also love how Kobe haters like this guy say he never won without Shaq or Pau as if anybody has ever won without another all-star. The biggest irony being that Lebron couldn't win jack shit without creating multiple super teams and still has less to show than Kobe. Facts are facts though. Overhauling duties from other positions kills the team & is not good basketball. And bron had a weak east for his finals streaks while kobe had 50 win teams down to the 8th sead in the west. And a weak era as the top 75 list is out with a ton of guys specifically from that era. I know it's harsh for Kobe fans because of the tragic death, and I'll admit his fyck everyone attitude and work is admirable, but you simply can't put him up there with Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlin, I even think Shaq was a much better player at his peak. Kobe didn't play in Michael Jordan's time for one, where getting a title was impossible for numerous greats. He wasn't even the best player on his own team during his 3peat, and one of the titles in the most contested in all time during that stretch. As far as this era being weak, I would say different but I don't see how that relates to anything being said here. If you research Kobe's defensive rating I think you will get a harsh reality, look at his + or - defensively for his career and it shows he wasn't even elite constantly (seriously please look at this statistic before you just demiss it like my last points. As far as we just talking, we are using points to justify our opinions, you are literally the one just talking non sense without supporting your case. I'm not saying he wasn't one of the most dangerous offensive players ever, but he was a ball hog that took to many shots and when you compare someone to the great one, it's important to point out that he was no Michael Jordan, not seven close. He's top 20ish in my opinion all time.

Michael Jordan’s legacy is rightfully cemented as one of the greatest to ever play. There are many who think Jordan is the GOAT over Kobe where as more and more the emerging data points to Kobe being the GOAT. Nevermind that Kobe has more points, rebounds, and assists, All NBA Defense, ALL NBA selections, INSPITE of missing 5 years worth of games, AND deferring to Shaq for 8 prime years, as well as barely playing his first couple of years, there are more compelling reasons ... Taking the players records without Pippen (for Jordan) and Shaq (for Kobe). Jordan NEVER had a winning record without Pippen inspite of playing in the JV (EASTERN CONFERENCE). *** NEVER*** His record without Pippen was 182 wins and 228 losses, a 44 % winning percentage without Pippen. His playoff record without Pippen was 1-9, with ZERO series victories. As for Kobe playing against the heavily stacked Varsity Western Conference and his record without Shaq ? Kobe had 508 wins and 458 losses, a 53 % winning percentage EVEN counting the post achilles injury years playing with 3 of the worst teams in NBA History against the deep grueling West. 53 % > 44 % In the playoffs without Shaq, Kobe won 59 games and lost 42, a 58 % winning percentage, compared to Jordan’s 10 % winning percentage (1-9) without Pippen. 58 % > 10 % All this with Kobe having far inferior teammates against significantly superior competition statistically !!! If Jordan shot a higher FG %, that’s strictly because he only shot 1/3 the amount of 3 point shots as Kobe, not that he was a better shooter, in fact Kobe was a superior pure shooter, and far superior tough shot maker than Jordan. If Jordan could, he WOULD have done any one of the above in his faster paced era’s with more possessions, no Shaq to defer to, and averaging 4 more shots per game. He didn’t have Kobe’s offensive skillset, nor ceiling and capacity, therefore he NEVER DID ANY OF THE ABOVE. Defense : Jordan did have a DPOY and Kobe didn’t. But Sidney Moncrief had more DPOY than Jordan. Was Moncrief a better defender. Timmy Duncan never won DPOY. But he controlled the game defensively, as did Kobe for his team. Jordan did have 9 ALL NBA DEFENSE Kobe had 12 (Most ever by a guard). In the end, both are extremely talented players, and Jordan did eliminate 20 - 50 win teams, which is an extraordinary achievement, however Kobe eliminated 24 - 50 win teams. In conclusion, the league has had many great players, some put up great stats, some travel from team to team building their own superteams in their quest to be GOAT, Michael Jordan should be respected as an alltime great, but a rational and objective observation of the data favors Kobe on many key variables in the GOAT debate. Perhaps best described “Michael Jordan mastered his career, but Kobe mastered the GAME”. Number of playoff games against sub 100 DRTG teams among perimeter players in modern era Jordan - 6 Kobe - 65 Average SRS (competition during a title run) Jordan - 15.41 Kobe - 18.86 Total points and assists Jordan - 32,292 pts, 5633 assists. Kobe - 33,643 pts, 6303 assists. Jordan played against man to man defense. Kobe played against zone defense, also used ISO. Championships Jordan- 6-0. Kobe 5-2. I believe the only real difference between these 2 was the Era and competition they really played Kobe deserves to be in the top 5. I actually have him 1a,1b with jordan.

The people who played against Kobe or seen his game know he's one of the best to ever play on the hardwood. Shaq won 3 FMVPs because it was a prime Shaq. No one, and I mean nobody, is winning Finals MVP with a prime Shaq as their teammate.

They didn’t let 18 year olds play and they had 2 all star guards but once Kobe did play he did shine as to why they let those players go not to mention shaq didn’t win until Kobe came into his own as a player he went to the finals with the magic and lost he was a loser before Kobe that’s just a fact

If you look at the shooting percentages of teams back in the dead ball era they all shot under 45% for almost all of Kobe’s career. He actually for his 13 year prime 03-13 shot below average once in 04 when he was dealing w Colorado. He was not inefficient at all his era was. Also the 1 MVP award that Kobe won wasn't deserved. Lebron that same year averaged more points, more assists, more rebounds, he had a better field goal %, better 2 point%, more blocks, and the same amount of steals as Kobe. So Kobe shouldn't have even won MVP in 2008, and he was never really the best player in the league at all during his career.

Less than 2 minutes in and I can already use your own logic to debunk your narrative. You say that Kobe hurt his team defensely because he had a negative defense plus minus rating and then you showed the leaders of that category; Joakim Noah, who was a 1x DPOY, 3x All Defensive, and 0x steals or blocks leader was ahead of Hakeem Olajuwon a 2x DPOY, 9x All Defense, 3x Blocks champion. If you count when Kobe was actually started playing (98-99) to 2013 when he tore his Achilles he is at least top 10 in all these statistics if we look at defense there is only one year 1999-2013 he made a defensive team and made his team worse on defense and that year was 2011 when he was 32 years old. The thing about defensive stats is that it hardly takes on ball defense into consideration and because of that does that mean Dennis Rodman is a bad defender because he doesn’t have good stats of course not because defenders like Kobe and Dennis will snot have their impact shown in the defensive stats you actually had to watch basketball. 2010 vs the Celtics game 7 of course he had a bad game but he still had 23 points and 15 rebounds. Literally nobody shot well that game and if Ron artest saved Kobe then ray allen saved lebron but that’s not how this works. Bulls vs Seattle gm 6 Jordan shot 6 for 22 and shot 26 percent and didn’t dominate in any area like Kobe did I don’t see anybody talking about Jordan folding on that same year lebron in the playoffs played dog water vs the Celtics but I don’t see anybody talking about lebron folding everybody has bad games in big moments. Kobe in the last ten seconds is the only stat you show for clutch actually what the nba defines as clutch time is the last 5 minutes of a game that’s within 5 points. If we look at these moments in the finals Kobe has scored in total 76 points on 45.6 percent shooting while lebron has 74 points on 30 percent shooting. (Side note) Kobe has lead the league in 4th quarter scoring way more times than lebron has in the playoffs regular season and finals. When you look at Kobe shot 35 percent in the finals this amount of times you have to know for 3 of Kobe’s 5 chips there was hand checking and the nba was much more defensive minded in the 2000’s and that’s why he hasn’t been as efficient. (Side note) Kobe is the only player to have 3 straight playoff runs with 600 plus points and he beat 11 50 win teams during those 3 straight finals runs unlike lebron james’s competition when he was playing in the east. The last thing I would like to say after breaking all your arguments to cookie crumbs. You had to actually watch basketball instead of just looking at a stat sheet and I really hope you didn’t pay the guy who wrote you this script.

The Score of game 7 of the 2010 NBA Finals was 83-79 Lakers. It was a defensive game Everybody except Rajon Rondo (ironic) shot bad that game. Bring up Pierce, Garnett, Allen, Odom, Bynum, Gasol, Artest shooting stats. All of them are horrible. Kobe got the record for most rebounds (15) by a guard in a finals game, in game 7... “Gasol was more efficient in 2010 finals” Kobe had a broken shooting hand during the entire 2010 playoff run. Most players would’ve ended their season with that injury. Kobe not only still played but lead them to a championship. 🤦🏾‍♂️ Now a clutch shot is only defined as a 10 second or less shot. 🤦🏾‍♂️ When someone is clutch they turn it up in the 4th quarter and break the other teams will with minutes left so you don’t need a last second shot. You know how many times I’ve seen Kobe score 15-20 points in the 4th and put the game out of reach.

Numbers don't really tell the full picture across different eras dude. I think having Kobe top 10 is fine, as long as nobody is placing him above 7th all time. If you want to argue about Kobe, he was only the best player in the league for 2-3 years between 2006-2009. Most players have way longer stretches than that.

If someone makes 6 shots in a row in the 4th but miss the 7th shot for game winner, is he regarded as "not clutch"? In countless games, Kobe has carried his team in the 4th yet failed to make the game winning attempt, and people only use that last shot as a justification as to why he isn't clutch. Kobe has led the league in 4th quarter scoring many years at high efficiency. DeAndre Jordan shoots 68% FG from the field, thus does that make him a better shooter/scorer than Kobe 45% FG? Stats don't tell the whole story, you have to utilize stats in context with the actual game being played. If you actually play and watch basketball, you know that Kobe is clutch and a top 5 player of all time.

Saying Bron has had better teammates is straight BS! Bron has never played with anybody close to Shaq's level, unless you think AD is a top ten player all time. I also don't think you realize just how good Gasol was, he easily a top 5 PF/C in the league at the time. Gasol doesn't get the credit he deserves for those 3 championship runs. In 08 the Lakers went 22-5 after acquiring Gasol, they got drastically better. 2010 Gasol should of won FMVP, he was that good and Kobe was widely inconsistent both on offense and defense. Best players LBJ had were Wade and AD, neither of those guys are on Shaq's level. Wade was really only good for that first year, after that injuries slowly destroyed his career. Bosh was garbage, he had a really hard time fitting in Miami, he is probably the most overrated player LBJ has played with. Love was ok, he fit in better than Bosh mostly because he could shoot. Kyrie was also solid but again, not on Shaq's level. None of the guys LBJ played with were taking FMVP from him. Shaq won 3 playing with Kobe and Gasol should of won it 2010. Either Kobe wasn't as good as you think or his teammates were better than you give them credit for, in my opinion its both. Kobe Hater manipulating certain stats. You’re definition of clutch is wrong. Clutch is not just 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 shots. It’s 2 mins of less in a close game or the entire 4th Quarter of a close game. It’s not just making the final shot either. Clutch blocks steals assists, free throws count also. Kobe is top 5 most clutch of all time, PERIOD. Bring up LeBron FREE THROW % STATS in the clutch and let’s compare. Entire overtime periods is considered clutch also if the game is close. Kobe’s best clutch play (many game winning shots in Kobe’s career) is not even a game winning shot. It’s the lob to Shaq in the 2000 WCF against Portland. Pau Gasol was 0-12 in Postseason play before trade to the Lakers. Shaq had Penny Hardaway and got SWEPT out of the 1995 NBA Finals. Shaq, Gasol, Bynum are the reason why Kobe is not near 50% FG for his career. LeBron and MJ never played with a prime back to the basket big man that was a star player. MJ and LeBron could move freely to the paint and rack up cheap dunks and lay-ups, which improves their FG%. Right now for LeBron the pace is sped up (similar to 1960’s era) rules changed to take away consistent defense and AD rarely plays in the post, allows an older LeBron to have his FG% still around 50%. Kobe couldn’t move as free, but still got to the rim occasionally. And STILL dropped 33,000+ pts for his career. Kobe is top 20 greatest defenders ever and will go down as being a better defender than LeBron (6 Defensive team selections, 0 DPOYs). Kobe was the YOUNGEST player EVER to be drafted to the NBA in 1996 at 17 years old. (The FIRST perimeter player EVER to get drafted to the NBA straight out of High School btw). A youth record he held until Bynum broke it in 2005. MJ was 21, LeBron was 19. Kobe was traded on draft day to a CHAMPIONSHIP CONTENDER that already had an all star backcourt. (Eddie Jones, Nick Van Exel). MJ and LeBron was drafted to sorry franchises that allowed them the playing time and freedom to pad their stats early in their careers. Don’t discredit Kobe for getting traded to and continuing the WINNING legacy of a STORIED FRANCHISE THE LAKERS. That’s just as significant as turning a sorry team into a contender. He beat those teams or you meant the Lakers beat those teams? A lot of those "50 win" games come from the early 2000s when Shaq was the first option. Pau Gasol had a higher win share/48 minutes than Kobe in the 2010 finals and Pau was the person who stepped up in the fourth quarter of the game 7 of the 2010 finals.
