Are we sure these are unfinished or just filler spaces? GTA 5 for example has a ton of these 'rabbit holes' that are just meant to give the impression of an interior in order to make the world feel more detailed. In reality there's no depth to them and most lack collisions like the ones here. Still, good video, cat!

I think the windows stuff could be that yeah, especially since they're near where you exit a vehicle for that one...horrible Manny mission... But the others I really don't think so, there's a LOT of inconsistent collision meshes, and for something such as the building near the stunt jump, you can really easily see the "empty" doorway. If it IS filler spaces, then it would explain the first one, since in the game files it's a part of the building, rather than separate like normal interiors. But I don't know how they worked with interiors during development either Another thing, each island had their own design team so maybe the Bohan team thought since the island is so small, it could use these filler spaces a lot more than the other big islands? That's an interesting thought sir Gesha!!

I'm certain the first interior shown in the video was actually supposed to be a gameplay area. I doubt they'd make the stairs if it would be intended for "depth". But, honestly, it's really hard to tell. GTA 4's map is horrendously inconsistent, with for example most of the decorative storefronts in Bohan, Broker and Algonquin just being flat photos, while in Alderney they for some reason have actual depth in them.

or the Lure Apartment and more other apartments around the map but for some reason ( plot ? technology ? ) they only included 4 safehouses ( with Niko's apartment in the beggining )

wow.. never used any of those interiors during multiplayer.. but i found probably up to 20-30 wall glitches.. where you hang n slide into the walls.. they are everywhere all over the game

Honestly if this game had a country side it would had been so fucin cool, imagine driving around the country side with gta 4 engine, but the devs will need to have a reason to put a country side am i right

The Bohan bridge WAS locked at the beginning of the game. Maybe they changed it but on my old Xbox 360 if you start a new game the bridge is blocked with police…

If Rockstar Games actually cared about the interior, then why is there many unfinished interiors? Even GTA V still have many unfinished interiors. They're called "Rockstar", not "Lazystar"

@@automation7295 They're called Rockstar because it's a sexier name than DMA Design, and you need a sexy name to sell video games in order to, you know, make money. For sure there are a number of flaws in rockstar's game design, mainly the horribly outdated mission structures, but not wasting valuable development time on arbitrary interiors isn't the mark of a shit company, it's time and money management. Would you rather do nothing in a "finished" interior space since there's no content to go along with it anyway, or actually play the fucking game? GTA V was the most expensive media product ever produced when it came out, meaning more money and man hours were put into making it than any movie or game before it. They put those hours and dollars exactly in the right place, people are still talking about it and playing it 9 years after, and no game other than Red Dead II has managed to get even close to V's production values since.
