Can you reuse the applicator? Since this is a ceramic product do you have to throw away the microfiber towel used to buff the product. What is black ice?

This is ceramic infused, this is not a full blown paint ceramic coating, so no worries, yes you can reuse the applicator. And just wash the towels after use, and reuse. Black Ice is a ceramic based spray sealant, that will last even more than their Last Coat version 2.0

It would be nice if you could get a car with worse trim conditions to see the long term durability... My absolute favorite is solution finish trim restorer, only 20 dlls for the big bottle and I estimate you can easily do around 10 cars with it and the durability it's amazing so far I've done 6 cars and still have about 3/4 of the bottle, can't imagine anything else better at the moment because I don't know if this TLC product will last.
@PanTheOrganizer4 жыл бұрын
Solution Finish is exceptional too. However it's messy to use and takes longer to apply. So both are great products, it boils down to personal preference. Given TLC's awesome track record for durability with their TLC version 2.0, I don't see how this won't meet or beat expectations of 12-18 months durability. It's good stuff!

CeraTrim looks like it is very easy to apply and more durable compared to Carpro Perl which I use. It seems like CeraTrim works wonders in the exterior because of the glossy appearance and a small ceramic protection which is great for exterior. But for the interior, I don't think the glossy look will be desirable on something like the dashboard and it won't need the ceramic-type protection. I'll stick w the Carpro Perl diluted when I need interior restoration, and 303 aerospace for protection for interior. But the CeraTrim looks appealing for the exterior 🌟
@PanTheOrganizer4 жыл бұрын
I agree Keith. For the interior I still use PERL diluted 5:1 or Aerospace Protectant, but yeah CeraTrim on exterior rubber and plastics is already outlasting PERL by a long shot. I am confident it will surpass the claimed 12 months durability.

What do you recommend for trim on maintenance washes? Or normal washes.
@PanTheOrganizer11 ай бұрын
Nothing special needed other than washing your car as per usual. If your trim has no protection, you can add a trim protectant (either a spray like CarPro PERL diluted 1:3 for exterior use, or a longer lasting coating like Gtechniq C4 or CarPro DLUX or Gyeon Trim). If your trim is faded and oxidized and chalky white in appearance, you can use a trim restorer like the Ceratrim, or Cerakote's popular trim restorer. See my video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lWq7Y52wh82HraMsi=xAfzdIPuWRPG6XXE

If it’s a new vehicle you could apply the new Solution Finish Over the Top. If it’s old faded trim, you need to first restore it with the regular Solution Finish, and then protect it with Over the Top. 2 step process. Look into it. CeraTrim is a one step restore and protect. Both systems are excellent.

I couldn't really work it in like you did and it made a mess trying to apply it tight spots like around mirrors. Some got on the paint, hopefully that is OK. The gel never really set up, even after 20 minutes it was still wet so I wiped it off with a microfiber. It could not be "buffed" just wiped dry. It looks great so I hope it lasts.

I will say if anyone uses it as a tire dressing to buff it real well with a microfiber towel that you're going to throw out anyway.
@clbdyc4 жыл бұрын
Went through a car wash and the ceratrim looks as good as when I applied it. Applied thw Black Ice today. Is it as easy to use as wax? No. It's much easier. It's practically self leveling. You can do a whole side of the car and not worry about high spots.

I have a question Mr. Pan the Organizer. I've been using Mother's Back to Black for my trim,it's affordable for me and works. My question regards B pillars. I'm certain mine(volvo) aren't plastic or vinyl.. I'm guessing some type of metal. I've checked with my local Volvo dealer and they're clueless. If I've made any sense, how do I clean, maintain or otherwise address these particular items. Can you help?
@PanTheOrganizer3 жыл бұрын
Impossible for me to say as I don't know what material you're talking about. If you don't know, and Volvo doesn't know, I certainly don't know if I don't see it... Usually, if it's not gloss black (piano black lacquered finish) then it's some type of textured or smooth plastic.

Looks like a great product. I'm also a fan of the McGuiar's "Back-to-black," for this same application. I bought the McGuiar's Blue Ceramic Spray wax after watching your video. Fantastic product. Worth the $17 price tag. You can get refill bottles for a bit cheaper too. Thanks, Pan. A

I plan on doing a complete detail on my husbands 2007 Honda Civic. It is in excellent condition, but needs a total detail. I plan on putting a ceramic coating on it but I'm not sure if I should ceramic coat the trim or use Ceratrim. I wouldn't think you could use both.
@PanTheOrganizer2 жыл бұрын
If the trim is faded and oxidized (looks milky white or chalky and faded) then it needs to be restored with a trim restorer like CeraTrim. If the trim looks black and in good condition, all it needs is protection so you could apply a trim coating like CarPro DLUX or Gyeon Trim. You wouldn't use both, as CeraTrim also has built-in protection, so it restores and protects.

If it's textured plastic, there's not much you can do unfortunately, as that's missing material. If it's scratches on gloss black trim, I made a tutorial here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qImUZaSdhsial9E

What should I use on a brand new car for outer plastic trim? You said to keep ceramic wax off plastic trim. So what should I use when doing my regular car wash?
@PanTheOrganizer2 жыл бұрын
Just use a trim protectant every once in a while. Something like CarPro PERL diluted 3:1 for exterior plastics, or 303 Aerospace Protectant.

If you accidentally get some on the paint, just wipe with a microfiber towel.
