The stakes were really high in this special. Plus it was the 1 year anniversary of timmy not telling about his fairies & having it in closed doors was a big deal. Plus having crocker being the big bad for the special was cool & timmy revealing his fairies to his parents before it was became the run of the mill was a huge thing for the fans during the time. It's in my top 10 nick specials of all time for me.

Fun fact: some of these big movie type of episodes was supposed to be the series finale until they got renewed for another season by Nickelodeon. The episode channel chasers when y’all get to it was one of them. At the time a bunch of Butch Hartman’s work was on a balance whether or not to renew or end the series. That’s what happened with Danny Phantom and Jimmy Neutron. If I remember correctly Butch wanted to keep going with Danny Phantom, but Nickelodeon would not allow it.

56:08 Since you were wondering about Jorgen taking Cosmo and Wanda, if you connect the dots you'll notice they prepared an explanation about why things happened the way they did. Normally, Jorgan appears like he did for Crocker, but in Abra-Catastrophe there are multiple exceptional circumstances: -When Earth became Planet of the Apes, every fairy was retired from the planet except for Cosmo and Wanda, as they were sent to "try out" the monkeys; -As soon as PotA vanished, Crocker immediately caught Wanda, setting a new alarm before anything else could change; -Jorgen establishes "no more fairies" will be allowed on Earth while Wanda is in Crocker's hand, which includes himself, and effectively means only Cosmo and Wanda (who's trapped) are allowed to go back and forth since they are already on Earth; -When Timmy reveals the truth, someone has to come for the fairies, but since Jorgen isn't allowed, nor is any other fairy, **Da Rules** (which was also what summoned Jorgen to Earth in Crocker's past) executes the job automatically. But erasing the memories isn't part of the rule, which simply says the revealed fairies must leave, so everything is left as is after Cosmo and Wanda are gone; -With the two fairies released, Jorgen can theoretically undo his Earth ban, but Timmy eats the muffin before it happens and fixes everything himself, istantly restoring normality within the fairy laws too. This leads to Jorgen immediately showing up and finally do his job as soon as Timmy is in a secure area, and this time he would also erase everyone's memories as usual.

The one thing Fairly Oddparents always did really well were their animated specials. This is one of the best episodes of the show and showed the stakes the show could have. It also gets the characterization right too. One thing that becomes a persistant problem in later seasons is the horrible characterization and writing. I get this show's humor isn't for everyone, but at least with Cosmo's lack of smarts here, I could say Cosmo still had understanding of everything that happened around him and his jokes were either insensitive jabs or nosequitirs. In fact he was kind of smart in the first couple of seasons. Cosmo could also still be competent when the time asked for it. Mr. Crocker was also more of a villain than he was later too. And even though Timmy's parents are still neglectful, there was at least humor in how bad they were and its clear you weren't supposed to take them seriously, even if they are terrible parents.
