Yep, same, when I was younger I had to have “designer” things, big brands, Audi’s and Mercedes cars, Rolex watches, the lot. Now I’m older with a family and they mean everything to me, I don’t have any of that stuff, got rid of the lot, I’ve just traded my car down again to a small Toyota as they’re reliable and cheap - that’s what I look for now! I’m saving up huge amounts of money with the sole intention of passing on to my children so they get the best start possible. And living a stoic lifestyle where I only have what I absolutely need is so much better, I feel so much more freedom and not like I’m constantly chasing more money, more items, more expense. It’s honestly liberating.

Love this channel!! I have a WW story about how he treated a friend of my friend who was paralyzed from the neck down in a home invasion! After the incident happened and two years of surgery after surgery, my homie found WW's KZbin channel and eventually signed up for Wes's course. A few weeks into the program he found out that he needed another major neck Surgery and it would be 6-9mo of recovery. He then tried explaining to Wes during one of the group meetings, and asked for a refund. He told Wes. He didn't expect the full amount back, but could prorate it. This is when Wes completeely loses his shit on my friend (and at least a dozen people are on the video conference witnessing all this) Wes was calling him a broke loser, telling him he should go beg for change on a corner, because he will never succeed in Life with his loser mentality!! He also said something like "he wouldn't be paralyzed if he wasn't so weak minded" My homie was beyond embarrassed, and completely crushed , and never got a single penny back!

I hate the whole "I'm an alpha male" BS. You're not alpha if you have to tell people you're alpha. My brother did and said all the samething, and it was fxxxing annoying. I was in the Marines for 8 years, and I've had the privilege to train with some MARSOC, Green Berets, Dept of State, and a 3 letter agency I will not name. These individuals are humble, very well spoken, and very, very well informed, incredibly brave, couragous, prepared, and willingly head towards the sound of violence to put an end to it. At no point did they ever boast about being badass and how cool they are. They tend to put others before themselves because they know they can handle themselves. You get this kind of "you're safe, in good hands and everything will be alright" feeling even though everything around you is going to shxt and you could die any moment. Being alpha is NOT WHAT YOU DO!!! It is a part of who you are. I guarantee you that if STHF, every single "BOY" on that fresh and fit stage will scatter, fend for themselves, fxxx everyone else and then lie to the public how they were the baddest and bravest mxxxxx fxxxer there. I'm glad and so grateful that some of these special forces guys that trained me rubbed some of their "real alpha male" vibe onto me. You know you're an "alpha male" when you have another fellow US Marine tell you to your face, and I quote "Hey Sgt Lor, you know your job, and you seem to know what you're doing...... I trust you with my life." To this day, I still don't know how else to say thank you to him. All I know is I received closure and was able to move on with my life. If he were to die and I failed him, that is ALL ON ME. Another quality of an "alpha male" is that they also take PERSONAL ACCOUNTABILITY and then improve. Honestly, I don't feel like an alpha male. The stupid thing is that it's only possible to win across the board if your board is extremely narrow. You can earn money, buy stuff to impress strangers, harass every woman you see for a date and work out all day so you meet his requirements. But what about travelling the world? Learning a musical instrument? Writing a novel? Reading lots of books? Learning languages? Learning about quantum physics? Or history? It's a terribly narrow view of the world and a pretty ugly way to be.

Years back, I read one of Joe Weider's books. It stated that a man can build all the muscle he wants, but if he doesn't deal with his deep seated issues, he'll never actually improve. He may be muscular, but inside he's still the same small and limited man. Wes is a true example of this. Muscles are great, but really don't matter if you don't develop yourself mentally, emotionally and spiritually too. It's about striving to be a total package and not just a one trick pony.
