The title music for the 888 is an actual NES game's soundtrack. The game is called Magic Jewelry.

The reason for the NOACs and Famiclones, is the patents on certain NES and FC technologies ran out in the mid-00s. While that meant a lot of cheapjack plug and plays, the kind found in boot sales and flea markets, it did lead to the newer units like the RetroN 3. But you still have to run into systems like this.

Counting all the unlicensed games, there are around 1,800 - 1,900 NES games (according to GoodNES.) But these multicarts never seem to contain more than ten games repeated like nine hundred times with like one or two bytes worth of changes, so don't expect to find something like Lagrange Point, or DDS: Megami Tensei on any of them.
@gamecheater803310 жыл бұрын
The entire (US) NES collection is 697 titles in total, so yes there are some repeats.

The repeated games are usually just altered versions of the original in a way similar to what "Game Genie" does - the creators have altered the binary code of the original to create "cheat enabled" copies of the game. The game can contain fe. extra lives cheat or "start from x-level" cheat etc.
@Fridelain12 жыл бұрын
There exist 1,055 games released for the Famicon (Japanese version of the NES) and 791 for the NES proper. Many are repeats. The thing with pirate multicarts is that they often where composed of (often older) games which fitted in 64KB of ROM. Latter games occupied 128, 256, 512 and even 1 or 2 MB.
