Once you put on a clear coat, do you lose some of the holographic effect? Very pretty! I have the same orange stick, full of polish, just like yours. Ha-ha. I love it, it's easier to pick up.

Garden Guru I would say that depends on the topcoat and polish it goes over. The topcoat I'm using doesn't dull them too badly and these holos shine equally lovely w/ or w/o topcoat The huge orange stick of polish does make it so much easier, I just had to change to a new one because it starting looking a little grotesque lol

the formula of your polishes might not work as good for water marbling, you just have to try it out. And if it's just too thick, add a little nail polish thinner, then try again.

No matter what I do my polish dries too fast. Ive used several different kinds and I've even thinned them out.

I bought these polishes because of this design. I tried for about two hours to make these water marble. I tried different water, I even warmed it for 10 seconds in the microwave. I am an experienced water marbler and I could not make these polishes water marble. They would not spread, they would dry out before I could make the design. I've never been so frustrated! Did they work immediately for you? I'm perplexed.

Kattbelly Oh my goodness! I am so sorry you had such a frustrating time with these colors. This was actually the first indie brand I ever water marbled with and I have always had great success with her holo finishes. So let me list a few things that I think may been the culprit of your problems: 1. The polishes may have been sitting after being made leading to them being a little thicker then normal. I always have a bottle of polish thinner on hand which helps a lot. 2. The formulas of the polishes MAY have been changed since I first purchased them due to cost measures or products being discontinued. I personally didn't have much trouble with these. They spread out in the water for me nicely and every drop was very uniform leading to an equal bulleyes. I hope you try out again with these colors. Mucking Fusser Wow thanks, I didn't expect such a kind and helpful reply. I wondered if any of the reasons you gave may have been the issue. I'll have to try the polish thinner, as I don't think anything else will work with the bottles I have. You know I loved your design if I ordered the polishes because of it!

do you use pure acetone or acetone to do your clean up?

Chanel Parrish I use Zoya's nail polish remover so its a mix of acetone and mostly glycerine :)
