My son (13) and I drove up from Portland last June, and fished with one of Jordan's guides (Dave Page). We had a blast, fishing a local (Kamloops) Lake, with Dave. Jordan was a pro in helping us set this up, and Dave is a great guide.

He mentioned seeing areas where bugs were hatching in the lake...what are you supposed to look for?

There are a few signs to look for. The first would be birds feeding on the surface. Second is fish splashing on the surface from time to time. The third is seeing the bugs emerging from the water column and hatching on the surface.

Yep. Most lakes including this one allow anglers to keep the fish they catch but many do practice catch and release but it's not necessary.

Disgusting that our lakes are stocked with sterile fish. It shames his province. It’s like a GMO fish. I’d rather have the tiny ones that God made.

Triploidization is not the same as GMO. If these lakes were not stocked, there'd be no fish in them to begin with.

@@FishingwithRod I know what the difference is but I think it’s weird and wrong. Fish can and always have been able to reproduce on their own. God doesn’t make mistakes. Thankfully where I am we have a clear map of which lakes are stocked and I don’t fish in those.
