Another great history lesson. Thank you for including all the non-kit items that these companies also made. I am not sure about their aircraft, but the Faller building kits include multi-coloured parts, such as walls, roof, doors and windows, etc. That way they can be put on a layout without painting, but they always have a plastic sheen, and seem to attract dust more, so I always paint my models. Thank you for all your hard work on these videos, and adding to our knowledge of kit history.

Hi Max, Being a model railroader from the early 1970's to present day, I'm very familiar with the Faller name. Also according to the 90th Anniversary edition of the Walthers Catalog, Faller products are imported from Germany to North America by the Wm. K. Walthers company. According to the Walthers catalog, the Faller company manufactures everything from Adheasives and Paint, to power & train controls, scenery, signals, tools, figures, vehicles and structures. This was another very interesting manufacturer history video, loaded with lots of neat history on the Faller company. Also loved the intro and the better half keeping you in line. Yes us KZbinrs are waiting 😊 Thank you Max for continuing to upload these interesting videos about the history of the hobby industry. Cheers, Rich S.

Thank you for the Faller 'history'. I was into HO trains while living in Germany in the early 60s. Because the building kits used a lot of pre-colored plastics painting was minimal. I might have that windmill stashed somewhere............cheers.

Great intro. We get to see that Max is in 4th place in a home of 2 adults and a cat. Thanks for the history of Faller. It is sad as you watch and listen of what happened to the German toy industry over the decades. In addition the same fate befell the German optical, train, model, electronics, and appliance industries. A massive cheaper labour force and automated production facilities in S.E. Asia. These German industries were all but decimated over the decades. Some still live on and do perform very well. I do not rememebr seeing a Faller product but I do remember seeing Pola. Thanks once again max.

Great! Now we need documentary about Kibri company which is quite unique because they mostly specialize in autocrane, heavyweight transport, construction and mining vehicles, agricultural vehicles and so on - 1/87 H0 scale colored plastic functional kits to assemble and play. What I especially like is modular approach which allows easy combination of parts between kits without surgery. And the amount of spare parts, usually around 20% of kit contents. I have all their autocranes and keep buying, just cannot stop having so much fun of assembly, decoration and playing with 2m+ high beasts.

@@maxsmodels only when you have time, health and patience to do that, Max. I just feel uncomfortable about so little popularity of engineering vehicles in scale model world. There are few enthusiasts, some models and even events, but it's a tiny fraction comparing to Nazi tanks and Spitfires which every model making company releases every season. Kibri is well known and respected company, I feel they deserve your story.

Thanks for this great video! I remember we had that little kiosk on our model railroad in the 70s. I just recently discovered their line of 1/100 aircraft kits, collecting them will be a real challenge since they are so rare. So far I only have the Me-109, which is of quite good quality for its time.

Great video. Especially appreciative of the Thomas music on the closing credits. I once tried to make my own sawdust scenic material. It takes forever to dry. You can speed up the process by using Ritt dyes dissolved in wood alcohol IF you wear rubber gloves and work outside in a well ventilated area. I found out about this while learning about furniture refinishing. Alcohol stains are decent penetrators with little or no grain raise and quick dry times. You also learn about color mixing as you mix the shades from Ritt clothes dye and not by buying maple or oak "packets".

The Faller HO slot cars and particularly the slot trucks were very nicely detailed compared to the Aurora trucks. The HO kit buildings look nice too, but the thin clear plastic packaging on some is getting so old that mine are starting to fall apart.
