First video of the year! Continuing my journey experiencing 4Kids Winx for the very first time. What are your favourite parts of these two episodes? I personally liked seeing what classes at Alfea are like.

My favourite part is Bloom transformation and Bloom said "We're the Winx Club."

One thing about the 4kids version of Musa being a princess is that they really committed to it. They played with the backstory of her parents as her dad being a prince but really far removed from the line of succession who left the royal life to pursue music with her mom. So, make of that what you will about 4kids changing things around, but at least they stick to their guns.

I think that's a nice and practical way to make Musa royalty; it'd explain why she has a lot more freedom and less responsibilities, as well as why other royals (especially the stuck-up ones) don't really acknowledge her. It'd be great if this was canon so it could ocassionally be mentioned from time to time.

This is *fascinating!* I was too young to understand English when I first watched Winx and now I am too used to the dub from Austria to watch it in English as an adult. So thank you for showing what 4kids did with it, as a Yugioh fan I was prepared for the worst. 😄

My theory on Palladiums transformation is that some writer wanted to have a hidden/subtle gay romance between Palladium and Avalon (they really had some scenes in s2) and decided it would be a little silly with Palladiums old design (personally I love the old design) but adding another teacher didn't fit too so they convinced producers to change Palladium for whatever reason.

I like the 2nd design more. But regarding the romance thing, while I find it cute and I wish it happened, I think it's just us fans ready too deep into it and seeing things that aren't there so it proves our delusion. Plus iirc that wasn't even the real avalon, it was Darkar's henchman.

It's propably just me but Palladium just gives me Transman vibes I know it's most likely not intentional at all since winx club came out in 2004 But to me it's kinda a fun head canon In season 1 he is this trans guy who hasn't got that much magical testostorone I guess you could call it that yet and is awkward and shy because he's not comftroble in his body yet Then from season 2 onward he's more confident since he got a lot more masculine body thanks to the magical testostorone and can express himself a lot more now since he is comftroble in his own body

I'm not sure what Rainbow was trying to do honestly. I assume they just scrapped his old concept on a whim. Wish they had offered some sort of explanation. Your thoughts on Palladium do make more sense than whatever the intent was originally in the show though.

Someone once said a logical explanation would be it's part of the life cycle of an elf, where they start with the design in s1 and once they completed their growth, they reach their final form which is his s2 design. But tbf we've never seen any other elves in the series to know what their biology is like. Kinda like how fairies have magic winx, charmix, and then enchantix; he went from base/middle elf form to final elf form.

Another explanation is art style/design change or retcon lol. Like daphne coming back to life or Sky asking Bloom's hand twice and so many other stuff they drop, retcon and forget about for some reason

Totally random comment but this distracted me both in the last episode and this one but the way you pronounce "euphemism" is fascinating. 🤣 Also, the rest of the content is good too, ofc! I grew up on the 4kids dub and, imo, is the far superior dub in terms of voiceacting and giving personalities to the characters (ESPECIALLY Lisa Ortiz as Icy!) also some of the references and changes were so much better in this dub than the others. Always my go-to for a rewatch.
