This is stunning today. That guitar work. Brilliant, timeless band.

This was part of the soundtrack to my life in the late 80's and early 90's. Share household, the J's and lots of parties. Then I got married and everything changed. Needless to say memories come flooding back.

Now these guys could put on a show. The crowd at Deakin University early 1990s went absolutely wild.

I heard the song Black Bandages on Rage one night when The Falling Joys were guest programing. The song was featured on their studio album from 1992 called Psychohum. Black Bandages was one of the few, if any, politically charged, anti-war songs written after Operation Desert Storm. I think this song has great merit as The Falling Joys dared to make a comment about the shocking effects of war on the innocent. The many thousands of women and children, the aged and infirmed caught in the cross fire and affectionally known as "collateral damage".🔥. The track has a great punk-rock feel, driving distorted guitars, fuzzed up bass, heavy drums, the Star Spangled Banner and voice samples from reporters, world leaders and war correspondents. Brave song. Great lyrics. Check it out!!!
