There’s just something about Joan that no other comedian has ever had! When I’m feeling down, I watch her interviews or stand up… absolutely hysterical! Her timing, her approach, just the way she pieces the jokes together…. Nothing short of phenomenal. As much as I absolutely love her, I don’t think her comedy would survive in todays society. But Joan took everything that was supposed to hold her back… being a female comedian, aging, being banned from NBC… and absolutely destroyed it and rose above it, becoming a legendary, iconic comedian who’s legacy still lives on nearly an entire decade after her death. I truly admire and love her!
@ambsat2 ай бұрын
@davidpatterson555 "I don't think her comedy would survive in todays society"...sadly, I think you're right. And how sad a statement is that about "today's society." Truly. I'm so glad I lived through a time with the likes of Joan, Don Rickles, George Carlin etc, when we all knew how to laugh at ourselves, and when taking outrageous shots at our own human nature was a part of our culture. We were better for it, by far, than we are now. We knew how to critically think and take things in context. We've become a sad, angry, politically "correct", "activist" sour, dour, society...with everyone outlawing everything. RIP Joan. We miss you!

***** We are talking about talented people. Saying Paul walker is like saying: 1. Robin Williams 2. Joan Rivers 3. My second cousin Billy Neither Paul or my fictional second cousin Billy belong on that list. Robin and especially Joan were true innovators and icons. Paul Walker was an okay actor with a pretty sparse career. He isn't even close to being on the same level as someone like Joan.
