Fallout 4: 7 Places Where Fallout 4 is Freakier Than You Thought

Fallout 4 appears to be less out-and-out weird than its predecessors, but though there's no Wild Wasteland a la Fallout: New Vegas, there is still unmarked weirdness for you to stumble upon in the Commonwealth. These peculiar places include the General Atomics Galleria, originally intended to showcase the products of the General Atomics company by demonstrating what a shopping district staffed by their line of robots would be like. What it would be like is 'extremely murdery', it turns out.
There's also Covenant, a suspiciously intact-looking settlement that won't let you in until you do a psychological test to prove you aren't a robot. The test by the way is stolen wholesale from Vault-Tec's Generalized Occupational Aptitude Test from Fallout 3. At least be original with your synth-racism, guys.
And don't be forgetting Pickman's Gallery, a charming exhibition of psychotic blood paintings, or the school where they fed pink food paste to everyone. Which is now overrun with pink ghouls, naturally.

Mahkra fish packing plant in the northwest really got to me. You find a heavily defended raider camp completely wiped out, and there are only raider bodies, saying that whatever hit them did so without taking any casualties. it isn't until you get the the plant's basement that you find a whole mess of synths. Scary as hell.

I found the parking garage death maze, but my character had the rank 4 Sneak perk by then, which made me (a) immune to pretty much all the traps, and (b) pretty much invisible to the wandering feral ghouls. It was kind-of embarrassing, really. Great place to collect scrap from all the trap triggers, though.

I mostly didn't care for his paintings, but the one with hands reaching up out of the fire towards an eye (seen at 3:30 ) was really to my liking. I feel like it's meant to depict the moment the bombs fell, the world scoured by fiery shockwaves, the suffering survivors and those soon to die reaching towards the heavens, begging an uncaring god for salvation from the inferno, or trying to find sense amid the chaos, a reason for the agony delivered upon them. The eternal question: "Why?". ... Okay, I think that's enough sounding like an art major for today.

Dj Gengar if you discover covenant after the main quest line it glitches out into thinking you already took it. Happened on my first play through. Went on two other characters before the main quest line was completed and I was able to take it.

The sewer with all the people murdered in various ways and tapes left by the killer for a detective he thinks is after him was way more disturbing than any of these. You can actually get the ritual knife they were digging for in Dunwich, it's a machete with a unique mod and appearance.

I think the Dunwitch Borers calls back to Point Lookout expansion for Fallout 3. In the expansion you got some evil ritual book and had to take it back to the Capital Wasteland, to the Dunwitch Building's basement levels where there is an obelisk. It is implied that the obelisk can also turn people in to ghouls if they spend too much time in close proximity to it.

There is other references in game about the food paste. I found a raiders terminal talking about how one of there members has been eating it and going crazy. Also I found a statue with a few raiders around it with pink food paste splattered across it. also the statues head was blown in half.
