Love the gat! I was using a TSE gatling gun with prime receiver as my daily runner. In combination with a prime Foundation's Vengeance minigun it's a really solid combo. Tons of ammo from the gat, then chew it up and spit it out with the mini. Even with the accuracy penalty of two shot, the explosive bit makes it so you hardly have to aim at all, and aiming at distance with lvl2 grenadier, never a miss.

I love the gatling gun, but it's a hastle to farm them from enemies for scrapping to get mods, finding ones that spawn on the map in set locations is a chore and crafting them to scrap doesn't seem to give me mods. I have a nice Two-Shot Gatling gun that I can't make more powerful because mods aren't unlocking for me.

@@Maxx_XIII You can get a bunch of them during the Mothman Equinox event as well as radium rifles, the cultists attacking the church usually carry gatling guns more regularly

Thank You for covering the Gatling Gun . Explosive bullets is more affective when you use the GG as a demolition expert ..It is a sniper gun , the 1st shot hits more often than follow up shots . I use the Drum ammo to clear the view.

I have the exact same gatling gun as you Turtle, and it is a very powerful and useful weapon, it's also completely stress free when it comes to worrying about ammo because you get so much back. I use a Gauss shotgun nowadays but this is still in my stash for whenever a rainy day comes, definitely one of the weapons i am most grateful to own.

First week of the game being live, got the two shot explosive gatling gun. That thing before the explosive nerf was a godsend as far as non-legacy weapons went.

I used one of these farming spooky scorched, lucky roll of instigating, +50% vats accuracy, 25% less AP with an unyielding build vats accuracy was exceptional & it always 1 shot to the head. I feel the delay between shots helped gun fu change target without being wastefull. would recommend my pick would be the high capacity magazine because the default magazine was taking up too much space on the screen / blocking my view

I got a V/E/90 one. Damage is not the greatest but as I usually run auto melee it is a great "free" ranged option when I need one. Also works great on reflective skin daily ops, it fires so slowly the dps reflection does not kill me.

I was fortunate to get an explosive instigating; rocking the same mods 😊 enjoying those one shot kills to super mutants ... revenge for all the times they slaughtered me when I was starting out😂

This weapon on farming normal enemies and foundations vengeance for events or bosses are a great combo. I have 20,000 ammo on a character I created a week ago using this combo and have never created any ammo. I have one that’s exploding and just running around radiation rumble holding fire is almost as good as a Tesla for tagging.

Bayonet does come in handy when Mutated Events you need to bash to kill and managed to get a Critical Hit with it to nail five hundred plus damage points the once.

Having had both bloodied faster fire rate and bloodied explosive, the dps difference between them is essentially nothing. If it's explosive put the prime reciever on. If it's got faster fire rate, use the speedy one. It was taking me 2 shots to kill level 100 super mutants with the explosive and 3 tokillwith the faster frie rate. Given the the fire rate increase, if you set it up right, the faster firerate one is exactly one thrid more than the explosive one, they both kill in the exact same amount of time. Essentially, go with whatever one you prefer yourself out. Both rolls are as good as each other. I kept the explosive one because of splash damage, and my friend has the other one.

I had an old Bloodied + 25a. I made a new one (didn't want to reroll) - Bloodied + FFR. Sadly I'm using a full health build. So the next reroll (now of the first gun), I got a Two Shot + Explosive. And at that point I ran out of modules, so I need to wait a bit before I can try again. But I'm keeping those two. The TSE one will be my "tagging" gun for events. Also, Appalachian Thunder Pipe paint is still available for 250 atoms for another 2 hours or so!

Ive been using a bloody/explosive gatling gun for months just because its so fun while wearing power armor, its the closest you can get to feeling like a 40k space marine with a bolter in 76 lol

The Gatling Gun was a lot more fun before they nerfed or “fixed” it. Used to be able to crank it faster (shoot faster) by tapping the aim button rapidly while firing.

I use an Explosive Gatling on an alt character and it is the perfect weapon imo. Never think about ammo and easy to tag enemies in events.

This is off topic, but could you investigate where our nuclear winter skins went? Power armor and weapon skins....it shows they are still in the atom shop, but not in game.

I can't argue with that intro LOL loved the gatling gun before I discovered the rapid fire glitch and still love it today even after it got patched out. I even rolled a B/FFR/90 one a while back and keep it with my heavy gunner when I get bored of my Ultracite Gatling.

I'm a new player and I've been using the Gatling gun to farm ammo for my mini gun. I got aristocrats and 25% weapon speed on my first module roll. the only problem is I've been broke because I need to buy things because I'm new LOL. I've been holding off and got myself up to 15K last night.

I'm still annoyed that they got rid of the rapid fire bug for the Gatling Gun(mostly because I didn't find out about it until like a month before they got rid of it), but speedy receiver and FFR do somewhat make up for it. Also, I agree that the base gunner's sight is basically worthless.

I run a B E 25 GG on my main and it slaps. Use it to build up a stockpile of 5mm then burn it all off with my B FFR FR mini. Best weapon combo ive found, been usimg it for years!

After "stealing" legacies this is my fav heavy gun paired with Holy Fire. I'm using TSE90 or TSESF. If You want faster shooting try to roll 25ffr+normal 5mm ammo with fast receiver and you don't need any other weapon if you don't want to study F76. Bloodied2525 is also a beast.😊

I can also say that the gauss shotgun and the plasma caster drop contextual ammo that adds up to far more than they spend. Aren't most weapons other than ones with plasma or fusion cores the same now?

It served me well for many, many, levels. Unfortunately, never managed to roll a good one, it was always just AA, or FFR or explosive or ... but never a combination of them, so i finally gave up and turned to other weapons.

I have a two shot,explosive and combined with Grand Finale in one of the best combos I played.And the good part it keepes the damage compared to minigun with two shot.

It's a good VATS weapon, as long as it has less AP cost star, and you use your Grim Reapers Sprint, VATS can really be an advantage.

You got my interest back up about this, so I rolled one the other day. While I wish I could've rolled a Bloodied, I got an Anti Armor, 25% less AP cost, and faster reload. Well, guess what? I'm back in love! Yes, I made it Prime, because the ammo drop is insane, not to mention the amount I can produce, is a lot better than normal ammo. This thing is a VATS beast!!!

I´m a lazy player and its my favorite gun because i´m lazy. When an event starts i press the fire button and release the fire button when the event ends. Maybe i should write some makro which keeps the button pressed for me because i´m too lazy 😅

I have a few good ones, the best one being a B/E/AP. I use it, on occasion, with my VATS Commando. With 500 AP, I can use VATS, and be efficient. I only use it when I get bored, though, as I only have about 150k 5mm. ^^

Thank you for revisiting the gatling gun. I can finally use this now that I can run around in regular body armor. Power cores vanish using VATS in PA.

Extra large mag is worth just to not-have the stick mag sticking up in your sight-line. Traded for a BFFR90 one along time ago even though my heavy gunner is an energy gun user.. I had to trade the Gat. Gun cause I was just using it all the time. Eventually traded for another one cause I missed it 😞

It's my main gun I personally have explosive and vampire effects I'm pretty tanki with it. Weapon speed is useless effect because you can shoot very fast in third person mod just press left and right mouse buttons at the same time it will shoot way faster than weapon speed...

In my opinion we are running out of options we need totally new ballistic weapons and I am not referring to recycling like the brand of elders or holy fire etc. They have to be really new, you could bring some from NW which has a lot of variety

Lazy..... You bet! Mine is a Bloodied Explosive. I use the 500 shell mag due to the other blocking so much on screen. lazy Winning. AND mostly One Shot head shot kills.

It's a lazy peoples gun, you had me there. But i already have a full blood tank no power armor crank-up gat character. But i use a naughty mod that makes my crank-up gat rave the same fire rate as the .50 LMG and it makes absolute sente for me coze if i can build it from scratch i can set the gear box pace to make it have a higher rate of fire like my father make in a old and slow motor decades ago to give me a homemade cart as a birthday gift.

I have used a Anti-Armor Explosive less AP cost that has the Ultacite re iever for awhile . Ammo never runs out perfect for every day use.

I think ammo efficiency shouldn't be part of a decision any more. I mean are there even weapons left you could run out of ammo? Even the LMG will break even with the occasional expedition or operation.

Mine ... gets stuck... it is funny and infuriating at the same time... i am locked in the animation where the handle does not want to turn around.... and stops mid-air... kind of... However, I use it to farm 5mm ultracite whcih is one of the most expensive ammos to produce as it requires Violet stuff that is hard to come by... Then when I have enough I use an Explosive AA Minigun in events. This one and the Plasma Caster are some of the best ammo efficient Heavy Weapons in the game. Maybe the thrid one would be the Gauss Rifle or Shotgun to feed the MiniGun.

Anti-Armor does nothing for me. The only real improvement on any gun is the exploding bullets option.
