because yt had a massive change in content moderation policy and it applies retroactively because reasons. it's demonetizing videos that have been uploaded for ages without issues - thus the reuploads with the "offensive" content edited out. and patreon is already a thing fyi~

Why can't youtube provide companies the option to have adverts on videos that do contain "offensive language/acts"? I mean there are probably companies out there that wouldn't mind having their adverts on videos like this?

They have fewer paying advertisers than there are videos for them so this is just an excuse(or clever business tactic) to hide the lack of revenue from the general public, by blaming the uploaders and blaming the advertisers to the uploaders. Yew toob is worried if the lack of revenue was more common knowledge it would affect the companies internal valuation and it's ability to take on new debt at a cheaper rate.
