The m4a1 is a carbine with a 14.5 inch barrel and is suppressor compatible unlike a normal m4. Also unlike the m4 the a1 is fully automatic and not burst. They aren't as common as the m4 though. Atleast not in the USMC.

You need a class D fire extinguisher to put out fires caused by termite otherwise you can use dry sand however during the main flare up nothing known will stop it it will also burn to fast to stop initially

Yeah, you can only slow a thermite reaction by giving it a heat sink that won't just explode and/or add fuel to the reaction. Add water to a thermite reaction? It explodes the water, and splits some of the water so now you have a hydrogen/oxygen fire on the side. Sand helps to steal some thermal energy and prevents further spread of flame. Enough sand and you can snuff it out after a time. But if you make Cupric thermite... Don't mess around with energetic compounds, and don't touch copper in regards to chemistry without appropriate training and certifications.

Thermite CAN be put out with a fire extinguisher Class ABC fire extinguishers are your typical extinguishers that you see in households But class D extinguishers DO exist, and they are made precisely for metal fires and self oxidizing flames most commonly found in airports also BOTH ingredients in thermite are metal oxides, and he is correct in saying it generates it's own oxygen and cannot be smothered fun fact, it IS POSSIBLE to make higher temp thermite with titanium oxides, but it's much harder to ignite as well since it has a higher ignition temperature. It usually has to be turned into a thermate

Fun Tokarev(TT-33) facts : 1. The original version of TT33 did not have safety mechanism on itself - The only "safety lock" was half-cocking. Thermite can burn underwater, it is self oxidizing. I've even seen it smolder in a vacuum chamber. Nothing will put it out. Edit: another thermite fact, it burns hot enough to set asphalt on fire. Don't play with thermite kids, it is basically lava on demand

It's a bit confusing, but it apparently covers the burning compound in a thick layer of material that forces the thermite to cool and eventually be put out. Neat.

you cannot use water or CO2 fire extinguishers on D class(metal) fires. instead, cover with alumina, or anode cover material until fire is out. one site suggested a dry powder extinguisher however i suppose if you didn't have one, extremely dry sand applied using a long-handled shovel would do the trick, as mickyflint says "it will not extinguish the thermite but it will stop fire spreading into surrounding material until the thermite burns itself out."

yeah, I was wondering as to why though. I'm guessing the main issue was that zach probably was finding a bunch of old ones in iraq, and even though my firearm knowlege is pretty limited, I don't really know of any gun besides maybe an AK that can be exposed to the elements, and possibly gathered second hand by people who don't know how to maintain guns, that are also decades old, Although I don't want to sound biased here like AK vs AR, and no iffense, but you can totally get a m1911 chambered in 9mm, not that hard. The only way I could pheasably compare the two is if I had both a TT33 and a M1911, and stress test them to see what their strengths and weaknesses are.

In all the research I've done I have never, not even a single time, heard someone mention that can happen. You'd think the Soviets would have noticed that when testing the weapon before adopting it. Also, pretty much anything designed by the Soviets is as reliable as the AK, including the TT. They built stuff prioritizing reliability and durability over everything, within reason. Also x2, why get a 1911 in 9mm? get a HiPower, it's the same but better. Another gun that I don't know if Zach got mixed up in his rambling about the TT, or he literally knows nothing about it. It's basically the FAL of handguns. A product improved version of the 1911, given to us by the blessing upon the world or firearm design that was John Moses Browning.

DesertAvenger again, due to my limited knowledge of handguns, or guns in general, I can't give a educated opinion on the matter, as the only way in my eyes to prove this is via mythbusting, by somehow getting my hands on a decent condition tokarev and a m1911, and stress testing them both. Because I don't just want to assume that one is better than the other, and instead, get proper research and testing done. Also, the AK, whilst definitely durable, also still needs maintanence, and has been found to be unreliable when it comes to mud, compared to an AR, which functioned just fine. See, I can't just trust any old schmuck unless there is proof and testing done, as the AK guys seem to think that the AK-47 is the pinnacle of weaponry, and that it can withstand all forms of matter, whilst being able to wipe out anything in it's path, and any other gun pales in comparison, which is stupid, as guns are guns, and all guns will need constant maintainence, have their own tolerances and durabilities, and are made with specific purposes in mind. Also, remember that not everything the soviets made was "perfect", as most of their weaponry was designed around mass production, ease to use, and durability. Not every weapon the soviets made and field tested was good, the PPSH, whilst a badass gun, still has the problem of the spent casings flying out from the top of the gun instead of from the side, meaning you had to shoot it at a 45 degree angle to avoid the casings flying down on you like raindrops. my apologies if i am controdicting myself, I also like the tokarev TT33 because of how it looks, but I can't say it's a good gun without firing it myself and seeing if it is good or not.

@@AwkwardHypernerd413 I've never once mentioned the word perfect. I just said "as reliable as the AK", meaning just that, as reliable as the AK. Easy to use and cheap to manufacture, while still being as effective as needed. Since you brought up the PPSh, it's important to note it got replaced (partially) by the PPS-43, and the rain of brass was never really noted as that much of a flaw if it wasn't an intentional design choice, so you didn't pepper your buddy next to you with hot casings. Never heard of someone having to point the gun at 45º before, that would be both uncomfortable to hold and would make aiming considerably harder since you wouldn't see the sights. And considering any soldier firing the PPSh would be wearing a helmet/thick hat, I don't think they would've cared either way. And while the AK doesn't stand mud or other matter as well as the AR does (which isn't *that* well if you forget to close the dust cover) it's much easier to disassemble for cleaning and has fewer parts to clean, which was an important design consideration by a nation that had a significant amount of conscripts in its armed forces. The AK isn't perfect, but it sure isn't the garbage rod that many people think it is, and many of its "flaws" are intentional design choices or were remediated upon iteration of the design.

Pretty much the only thing I know about guns is that adding a scope to a revolver is pretty pointless. The guns are generally accurate up to 100 yards, which can be seen with the normal ironsights. Sure, you _can_ add a scope to your revolver, but it's not going to do much. It's useful if your eyes are failing, though.
