pyromaniac aardvark Cazadores are annoying to begin with, but we must not forget the Deathclaws at Quarry Junction. If you conga your way north from Goodsprings along the Long 15, you might end up sliced and diced by the damn things some time after passing Sloan. Thank RNG I went south from the get-go.

+Judson Joist If someone has the Ultimate edition, it comes with all the small pre-order bonus packs, including a 40mm grenade launcher, which makes short work of the Cazadores to the north, allowing you to reach New Vegas a lot quicker. Conversely, the Weathered 10mm Pistol works just fine if someone sets the difficulty to the lowest setting.

So essentially, Yahtzee began in Goodsprings and followed the main story to Primm, doing the side quest where he ended up in the NCRCF, then going into the destroyed Nipton where the Legion were and then heading to Novac to drink from a toilet before dealing with the great Khans in Boulder city, reaching Freeside and then freezing after entering the strip.

A liquid will only start to dehydrate you if its solute content surpasses the solute content of your blood. Water from your blood will end up diffusing out of your bloodstream to balance things out. That being said, it is possible to drink fluids that actively cause you to start dehydrating. The problem is that soda pop doesn't come anywhere near that point. As he points out, rightfully so, "it's not sea water". What I think people are trying to say is that things like coffee, soda pop, tea, orange juice, alcohol, etc, have higher solute concentrations than standard drinking water. Therefore, drinking anything other than standard saline solution (drinking water) will hydrate you _less_ than the ordinary water will. Now I'll slink back into my corner until I'm needed again ...

I was lowkey looking for this, but either I'm too tired or my english is failing me because zi don't understand how you explain the fenomenon. I just assume it dehydrates you because mostly everything that isn't water or 100% natural juice has a diuretic effect somewhere. Either tha tor they just thought that it dehydrates because you feel thirsty aafter drinking it.

I have watched ZP ever since he still had (un)licensed music for intro and outro, I think I have it on good authority to say that he enjoyed FNV. Quick explanation. TL;DR - Get your stacks between 21 - 26 before them. Ace is one, King doubles the value of what it's put on, Jack removes the card(s) its put on, Queen reverses direction of the stack it's put on. You're trying to get each one of your caravans (the 3 sets on the bottom) to be above 20 and below 27, so if they are 21 all the way up to 26, you're good on that one. Your enemy will try to do the same. Try not to let them get 2 caravans into that range before you, using the techniques below. If you both have 2 caravans in range and the game hasn't already BS'd you or anything, you'll want your caravans to be closer to 26 than their caravans. If one of your caravans is exactly on 26, it's perfect, and you should work on setting up the next one in range or destroying one of your enemy's caravans to guarantee your chances of winning. Numerical cards do exactly what you would think, they add that number to your deck. The ace counts as the 1. The order at which you can place cards is determined by the second card you place in that caravan. So let's say you put a 9 on your left caravan, then you put a 3 down, that caravan is descending and you can only place a lower numerical card on that caravan, such as a 2 or an ace. This is where the queen comes into play. The queen reverses the direction of numerical value. So let's say you have a descending caravan and you put a 2 on it, but you need to quickly tack on more value, you'd put a queen on that 2, during your next turn. Now, instead of having to place a lower value card, you can place a higher value card, such as a 10. The king is very useful in that it doubles the value of the card you put it on. If you have a caravan that's at 18 because it has a 10 and an 8, you could drop a king on that 8, it would make it a "16" and your caravan would be at 26, the upper limit. What makes the card so much more useful is that you can almost always place it down onto your enemy's caravan also. If they are within the 21-26 range, and have a high number that could destroy it, like a 10, you can put a king on the 10 and they would have to forfeit that caravan and start it over. Useful for when you have low value cards and need to slow them down. The jack is sort of like the anti-king. It removes the card it gets attached to from play completely. Forever. If your enemy has 26, from two 10s and a 6, you can put a jack onto one of their tens, and that caravan will drop down to 16. This is also useful if your enemy puts a king on one of your caravans to make it go over. You can put a jack on top of that king, which will remove both the king AND the card it doubled from play. Although most likely you won't end up in the 21-26 range from doing so, it's a much more desirable alternative to completely forfeiting that caravan. Not even I know wtf the joker does ¯\__(ツ)__/¯ Happy caravan-ing!

Vollification Honestly, I think it's best to treat them like deathclaws. Use a powerful weapon that can hit multiple enemies at once. If you have a heavy incinerator or a missile launcher (launcher should only be used from a range and only once, as reload times will hurt you) you should use those. A minigun or LMG can work pretty well too. If your energy weapon skill is good, then the Laser RCW is very effective against them, at least in terms of picking them away.

So i searched everywhere for these caps to get me that treasure everyone kept going on about only to find it was about 3000 caps and a pew pew gun that was completely useless by the time i gathered all 50 (could be wrong) caps. All that aside where's my damn fallout 4?
@DexFlames

Monk3ywrench It's not that hard - you can do it without getting aggro from any of the Deathclaws. It's not a glitch, you just have to take the right route. If you run straight down the road you're screwed, but with a decent perception you should be able to see the Deathclaws on your compass and avoid them. Gratuitous quicksaving can also help.

+Charley Grindey I have an idea for a fallout game. It takes place in Michigan in the year 2302. A group of settlers thirty years earlier found a secret vault loaded with the location of a shit ton of oil underneath the Great Lakes, thousands of different kinds of animals, and a geck. However, security attack the settlers and the GECK gets damaged by the fight. This causes weather anomalies in Michigan and the settlers escape, news of their discoveries spreads everywhere. The NCR, the legion, the brotherhoods the enclave, everyone starts heading for Michigan so they can get all the stuff. You play as an overseer running a vault run by waste landers. You can play as a human, a ghoul, a super mutant, a night kin, or a synth. Then, one day, your vault is destroyed by an unknown group. You leave your vault to get revenge and decide the fate of Michegan.

The situation I refer to was when we were on an attack run in a combat exercise continiously for 12 hours with around 10 miles moving with many simulated engaments with enemy units and building and moving encampments along the way, around 45 pounds to carry including the combat gear, +28-30 celsius and 0.5 litres of warm water to drink. In the end of it I was a bit delusional and nearly all strength had left my body.

The only problem I had with this game is that the developers didn't have enough time to work on it really. It came out buggy as shit and required like a thousand patches. New vegas wasn't as big as the development team had planned or hoped. Area's and storyline's had to be cut. The legion wasn't grey, they were just all black. Which in my opinion is a huge problem with fallout when it comes to some of the factions, some of the factions just don't feel human, like their only job is to be mean i.e. legion whose only 'good' trait that I remember is that they protect their roads, I also hate the karma system, stop trying to apply your bullshit morals to a scenario like this. No Legion companion, in fact if you follow the 'good' side as in don't join any of the obviously evil guys then you probably won't come into too much conflict with possible companions. Still a solid game.

Didact13 But the game was boring. Story was great but there was so much empty space in between everything. In 3 at least the little things you find in between were interesting. There are two stonking great areas in New Vegas covered in fking ants and no loot or story or anything mildly interesting. All the farmsteads North of Vegas are empty bar the odd Fiend/Jackel etc Yeah it was more faithful to the older Fallout, but there was SO MUCH SPACE. SO MUCH NOTHING. There was so much crap between the good bits I kept getting bored. Sure 3's story was completely unfaithful and cheesy, but at least DC was interesting, so many little nooks and crannies with little stories.

I really had no problem with the game. The DC wastes appeared to be 12 copy pasted metros and grey-brown buildings with nothing inside them. I honestly hated DC, and loved the Mojave. I explored shit tons in Fallout 3, LOOKING for something mildly interesting and found nothing. Yes, there were more buildings/areas, but there wasn't anything of interest in them. I've heard this argument a lot and frankly I just don't get it. I spent hours scouting the Mojave or the surrounding areas, making my own little side stories. In 3, it was more of a chore to explore place. Yes, there was loot in these places. Was it, say, interesting loot? Worthwhile loot? Hell no, the best weapons and armour came from a few scattered missions. In New Vegas, there was a reason to explore. Killing all the Legendary Creatures, collecting the unique weapons, or just finding discarded notes and audio logs. You see empty space in the Mojave? I.. Really don't get that. I mean, there were more hubs in the DC Wastes I guess, but they were all godawful. Except the Citadel. Filled with Brotherhood pretenders, yeah, yet I liked it. After going to Rivet City or Megaton and doing all the missions, I never wanted to go back. Places like Red Rock Canyon, Jacobstown, or even the BoS bunker compelled me to return every now and again. So, what I'm saying is, there may have been more content in FO3, but it all seemed empty.. Dull. To me, at least

Have to? No. It's just what I do in RPGs that put me in creatively stimulating environments. You know. With a colour palette that isn't limited to variations of gray. Environments that encouraged me to keep playing, even after finishing all available side quests. I get you're trying to be clever here and dissect one bit of what I said, but the implication that I found it fun to use my imagination in an RPG being a bad thing is... Just a hilarious one. Really. Stellar. Had to? No. I just did. And still do, on occasion. Whereas my Fallout 3 disc hasn't been touched in a while. For good reason. Mainly, that I think it is an inferior, shallow game. My opinion though.

+Didact13 Dude to tell you truth the reason people all say New Vegas's world was bland compared to fallout 3 is that a lot of the towns and locations seemed relatively bland and samey compared to fallout 3. I mean fallout 3 every town you visited had its own distinct personality I mean just compare the starting town which was built around a nuclear warhead to goodsprings. And it had other great towns as well ones built upon overpasses, and in mueseums. The reason to explore was simply to find these amazing sights. Its not that their werent some good sights in fallout new vegas its just that they weren't nearly as numerous and were connected by what felt like a whole lot of filler. And also the lack of color did help establish a really strong atmosphere (for me at least). And by the way I liked new vegas more but common by calling it a bad shallow game you seem to forget that nearly everything in new vegas from its combat loot system was built off of fallout 3

One of the few times I have to admit Yahtzee's review was surprisingly shortsighted. It seems like he just wrote the game off as an expansion to Fallout 3 and was only remotely interested in the hardcore mode, which is the least defiining feature that sets New Vegas apart.

He has been pretty positive of New Vegas in the past, saying it's better and more deep and generally far better written than Fallout 3, but that he just can't get immersed in the Bethesda boggled-eye conversations, messy interface and bugginess. So he has at least played it properly in the years since.

A lot of New Vegas is just Fallout 3 assets kit-bashed together because of the short dev cycle, which is how strange things like Rotface wearing Eulogy Jones's suit happened. It's closer to a for-profit TC mod than anything else. That's not a dig at NV though. Some mods are just outright better than the original game.

I wasn't much of a fan of FO3. It was always one step away from a super mutant fight and cowering in the corner hoping that you have enough bullets/stimpacks or whatever to get past them. While New Vegas was a colourful, fun world with much more to explore. The ending to FO3 was great and so was Mothership Zeta, but compared to the whole of NV and all the DLC FO3 doesn't stand up much. I suppose it comes down to whether people want the gritty and constant fear of FO3 or the more upbeat and poppy style of NV. For me, I love the wacky yet dark nature of NV.

It's like that until you meet up with the Outcast Steel Rangers who give you 18 stimpacks / 5.56mm ammo / something I can't remember for nabbing a laser/plasma pistol/rifle or a suit of power armor and giving it to them. However, don't go waltzing up in a suit of Outcast armor you found lying on the ground, because they'll take it from you and ridicule you for not leaving amazing (looking) armor on the ground.

1:50 It makes complete sense. Sodium, is salt, salt absorbs liquid, thus making you thirsty. Soda has a lot of sodium, it's so that when you drink one up, you're thristy enough to go an buy another one. A reason why sailors say not to drink the sea water when stranded, it's salt water and you'll only end up even thirstier...

It seems that there is a debate on which of the two newest games is the best which to me doesn't make sense since there is obviously no contest at all both games are the same they where made in the exact same engine but New Vegas gets the advantage of having learned from FO3's mistakes *I keep hearing that fallout new Vegas is less optimized than Fallout 3 now first I used to play it in my Xbox 360 and only once it happened that my character sank into the ground and it looked like a hat had claimed life and started roaming the wastes but that's the one ocassion now granted in the PC version I've been getting a more crashes and a few glitches but there are mods that the community is so fucking proud of that can take care of them forever and that goes for both games so... *I'm not gonna cover DLC's because those cost money that not everybody has and therefore not everybody can experience *This is where you can notice the improvement and the learning of the mistakes I talked about earlier first fallout New Vegas improved all the silly animations from FO3 they still look like shit but was it just me or did my character looked like a duck whenever I walked with my pistol out *In fallout 3 there where like 12 weapons and 4 of them where shit In fallout new vegas there where a lot more and even variations of the already existing and where much more useful even the one that weren't so powerful because you only came across them in your first levels and they where efficient against the kinds of enemies you would face then besides the inclusion of ammo types and weapon modifications that make combat more dynamic since you can choose different approaches to different occasions Both games have huge maps with impressive locations that are rich in history but I have one problem on the way Fallout 3 makes you explore every time you need to get somewhere you have to get inside an intricate train station that has a bunch of enemies that are sometimes just annoying to have to deal with it just doesn't feel good and I don't understand who thought it was a good idea to hide all the scenery of the capital wasteland to make you traverse the same designs of railways over and over again both games had great enemies that where powerful and memorable so *A lot of people claim Trhee Dog for his incredible performance which is just out of place for me every time you turn on the radio it's a 2000's radio DJ presenting songs from the 80's which really sticks out like a sore thumb to me whereas Mr New Vegas is a chill charismatic (person) that does the job just fine that's the only problem I have with them they both give news about you and present good music *The character in both games are likable memorable and can honestly make you care about them but the companions in Fallout New Vegas are more intricate and have a richer backstory also they respond to your interactions with the world leading to some of the best quests I've ever seen for example "I forgot to remember to forget" beautifully executed and implemented quest *Both stories are great but the main quest in Fallout 3 there is no room for elections which they probably didn't need but it adds to replayability in Fallout New Vegas you can choose from 4 different factions to side with 4 different outcomes to the main story, in fallout 3 you can only have the good ending or choose someone to scarify So in finally Fallout 3 was amazing Fallout New Vegas was better Fallout 4 will be even better and Skyrim sucks, good night.

The gang in question at the standoff is the Great Khans and their intent was to escape the NCR soldiers not kill people. The NCR's goal was to resolve the issue peacefully and retrieve the hostages but a lot of bad blood exists between the two factions due to an earlier debacle in which a platoon of NCR people killed a whole innocent town of Great Khans in a "They have weapons of mass destruction" style hash up. Hence, the needless standoff. (Which, by the way, you can resolve peacefully and get everyone home scot-free by asking soothing questions and passing a speech check of 45)
