Ex dub here. The yoke placed upon the dubs is heavy, grueling, and burdensome. May all of us know the peace and love Jesus offers. For me it was Christmas midnight Mass two years ago in the back row of a Catholic church. I went alone, desiring to seek him. I sat there and balled my eyes out as I felt the presence of God in our midst. He offers himself freely and wants to draw all of us to him. Thank you for your story. Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

What a wonderful testimony. I had a similar experience when I was still in the WTS. A Christian whose door I knocked on gave me a Journey into Life booklet which I Intended to throw in the bin at home, but curiosity got the better of me and I read it - I know that sounds weird, that a JW would do this but this is how it happened - I felt compelled to pray the prayer in the booklet and ask Jesus into my life - it just really touched my heart (even though I’d been a devoted JW for 15 years at this point) Jesus became very real to me right then and there and I knew, just knew that the WTS were totally wrong. I disassociated within a week and have spent the last 36 years totally in love with Jesus. I am beyond grateful that he rescued me. I got very emotional when you did, just remembering that first encounter with my Lord and Saviour. Thank you so much for sharing 💖

This is a testimony. Thank you for sharing. I too am a believer and ExJW. I am struggling with organized religion and cannot ever see myself being a member of any church. I get so triggered by certain aspects. Certain Christian denominations flat out remind me of JWs. And I left JW life in 2011! My experience while battling cancer definitely confirmed that God is with me. I am now 6 years cancer free Thank you Lord! I am also perfectly fine not having all the answers about the Bible. That's another part of JW culture - having an "answer" for everything. Your observation about the JW Bible & how reading the Bible (it's usually King James & Amplified translation for me) you see how much was STOLEN from us - there is NO emotion or real connection to God.

@grammargoddessNYC 1st, thank you, Lord, for healing! 2nd, yes, you're exactly right. The JW version of scripture & worship strips out all emotion. not me sitting here crying over your story. thank you for sharing. I am new in my deconstruction, POMO but happily married to a PIMI spouse, (although they are sad by my decision).....i hear experiences like yours and just wonder how you reconcile the God of the old testament and the ....horrible things he did or asked people to do in his name. thats what i am currently struggling with. Jesus and the new testament is all good, easy to accept and love. but i cant wrap my brain around the other stuff. i think i may have always had an issue with it but squished it down and told myself that Jehovah had a reason, and he will make everything right in new system....but i cant do that anymore. If you also had to work through these thoughts Falon, i would love love love to hear!!! I admire your faith.

I've come to accept much of the old testament as myth and legend, and actually, that's perfectly acceptable in the Catholic faith. As I have grown in love for Christ, you see the love of the law, and you see that the Pharisees twisted it, just like the GB has twisted their scriptures. Give Jesus a chance. Find him. And you will grow in love.

Hi @justme0919, if I may share a bit about how I see the Old Testament, in the hope that it might be helpful: I’ve been 'Born Again' since the age of 8, and now at 60, I’m not part of any denomination or formal church community-just part of The Church, the Body of Christ. YHWH-known also as JeHoVaH, YeHWaH, ... -created everything: Space, Time, Energy, Matter, Thought... everything. We all belong to Him. As creatures, can a painting tell the painter he’s doing it wrong? We know death feels wrong, yet it’s appointed to us. But we can trust the Painter to complete a glorified masterpiece. Everything we see as 'bad'-whether in the Old Testament or in life-is ultimately a consequence of humanity's fall from Eden. God, in His love and wisdom, has been working to restore the relationship He once had with us. Every action He has taken, and every way He has done it, flows from His love and perfect justice. We must praise and thank Him for accomplishing what seems impossible to us-simply because He loves us so deeply. We owe everything to Him. And finally, we must remember that death is not the end. Our God is just, true, and loving, and eternity will give us endless opportunities to understand His ways more fully. My guess is, when we do, we’ll only praise Him more. Ne'emanut Shalom

For my understanding means: RELIGION is the attempt of people by doing good works, celebrate rituals ( walking to mekka for example...) and Traditiones to get favor from their God. But the opposite of RELIGION is GOSPEL ( means: Good News ! ) God came to us on earth in Jesus - we just celebrated and remember. Let us follow him until to the cross and resurrection - and praise him for what he has done - for me and you !@@mamajan99

For me it was a matter of months. I always was an eager Bible student (30 years of JW) and got more and more disappointed by the lack of interest in deep biblical subjects among my fellow JWs. It wasn’t so when I was younger. Then the new corrupted NWT. I plunged into subjects like Christology, salvation and church history. I called upon the Lord Jesus, got baptized and am an evangelical Christian now. I feel a lot of shame thinking about all the slander I preached against „Christendom“ for decades, it’s simply wrong. But JW defines itself by slandering other Christians.
@Hallel-o-jah9 күн бұрын
Sorry for you. You are listening to a lot of teachers around you with “itching ears” and have fallen to it. There’s no truth better than what Jehovah’s Witnesses have. Have you realised that it’s not at all just the teachings and doctrines we are talking about of the truth but most importantly, about Jehovah. Who do you call your God now? Jehovah is the God and Father of Jesus Christ. Christ is the messiah, the Christ, the appointed king, the high priest. These are just a few titles that point to Christ as second only to his Father in terms of authority. In fact his authority was just given by his Father.
@Hallel-o-jah9 күн бұрын
Are Jehovah’s Witnesses not Christians? You are joking.
@guido04129 күн бұрын
I am sorry for you that you don’t study the Bible but what self annointed men tell you you take it for true. YHWH or Jehovah is the holy name of God and I still use this name in prayer. Who did ever tell you that Christians don’t use this name? I recommend RC Sproul: the God we worship. - No JW are not Christians. A Christian believes in salvation and rebirth through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. YOU believe that Christ died for 144000 and that only 144000 are reborn sons of God. This is in clear contradiction to 1 John 5,1 (everyone) or John 1,12. The problem with most (today) JWs is that they don’t know their own doctrine well and are spoiled with their sweet media consumption and their governing body worship. Go to your own watchtower library and make a DEEP study on salvation, justification and ransom. Analyse if the only two verses where it is mention of the 144000 these thesis of JW are biblical or not. - Take a modern English Bible and make a deep study what all other greek scholars say about your translation. - I am a lawyer since 15 years and study the Bible since my childhood. If you think that I function with emotions : sorry that’s the JW business. Give me scriptures and hard facts. Make a study on the 2-witnesses rule in Child sexual abuse cases and ask yourself why the best elders who had to do with these cases left when they saw how the ORG treated them for decades. - Make a study on Christology and go through ALL the Bible verses that Bowman in his book „putting Jesus in his place“ gives you in the addendum. - If you are honest enough to confront the facts and wake up out of your sweet JW bubble than we can talk.
@guido04129 күн бұрын
NO JWs are not Christians. Why? Take John 5,23. You do not honor the son like the father. You had songs to the glory of Christ but they were all eliminated and now you don’t even sing to the glory of Jesus. - Take John 1,18 in your own Bible: Jesus is the only begotten god. - If you have courage confront me with scriptures and start studying the Bible.

Glad to find you, new subscriber here. It is nice to hear of ex-JWs becoming Christians as yes, so many sadly throw the baby out with the bath water and leave all faith in God. I think the way the Watchtower is set up makes this happens as while people are in the org, not only are they indoctrinated into Watchtower theology but they are also simultaneously inoculated against the rest of Christianity with lies and half truths so if they leave they still retain the negativity they learnt against the churches.

Thank you for a very moving testimonial. I honestly wish I had your faith. I have tried, after leaving I joined a women's group of Bible study where we were not allowed to say what religion we came from, just studying the Bible without any filters. I read the Bible seven times not just the JW version. The NIV, NLT, ESV, and a couple of others. I feel nothing. Just sadness. I often wonder if God really ever wanted me. There was this stupid talk a brother gave one Sunday when I was maybe all of five years old. What I took away from that talk that day was there are just some people who Jehovah hates, he saw them in the womb, he must have been talking about Jacob and Esau. I don't honestly remember but what I heard was Jehovah hated me. My parents were not the kindest people for sure. They honestly should have never had children, especially me. I was a huge disappointment to them. My first memory of my mom was her slapping me when I was 3 and telling me she wished to God I had never been born. You know how Dad's have nicknames for their little girls like pumpkin, munchkin, sweete. My dad's nickname for me was gd brat. I used beg Jehovah when I was little to make me be able to not make my parents hate me so much. The elders in the hall knew how my family was. I honestly wish I could feel the faith you have and I am so happy honestly happy for you. And Merry Christmas 🎄 Even though I don't believe I still enjoy the holiday now.☃️

I was raised in mainstream Christianity… but by the time I was 15.. I was disillusioned as my parents were anything but Christian at home. But I always had a deep love for Jesus. I had given my life to Christ at 8yrs old… but my mother didn’t believe me because “there was no instant change in me”. And no one guided me. By the time I was 18 I had become JW.. my BFF at school was studying to be a JW and it intrigued me. I was baptised and went about my JW life for 10 years. A few years in.. I started to see a few things that I knew was not biblical and started to wonder about it all. Then this happened….. I was out in field service and on this day I was by myself. I was a few doors a head of the others and I heard a voice speak to me and said.. “you may be able to take the girl away from Jesus, but you can never take Jesus away from the girl”. I stop in my tracks… and knew that I had heard God. I turned around, said to the people behind me.. I am Leaving. I walked to my car and drove home. That night I had this dream… I was in a prison… it was brilliant white.. everything including myself and my hair was brilliant white. I could see past the prison bars and it was pitch black. Out stepped two JW elders that I knew.. and one said to me… say that your are JW and we will let you out. I said … in that case, I will stay here. I woke up and knew.. I was to leave JW and left immediately. I was 28. It took another 7 years to return to Christ… but when I did, it was wholeheartedly. I was 35. I was baptised again… but… as i stepped into the pool I kept thinking this is what JW believe and this is what Pentecostal believe and to be honest, I was scared and confused…. But as I went under the water and came up to the surface… it was no longer about what religions believed but what God word said.that was 30 years ago… and wow… Jesus has been amazing. To honour and glorify the king of kings… is truly precious.

I read the NKJ and I researched several key scriptures in 6 languages. The NWT is also an acceptable translation of the Bible. I like how they "try" to pronounce God's name to the best of what is humanely possible as being Jehovah. I just don't like how they don't capitalize "Holy Spirit" though. Other than that, there are minor questionable mentions about it that some may consider as negligible.

In 2019, I was very upset after a divorce, and I asked Jehovah for a sign while driving. I asked for a statistically improbable sign-none of this bullshit coincidence sign. Within 30 seconds, a car ran a red light and hit me and I got hit a 2nd time. Then I ended up on the edge of the train track and I could hear the train. (Later, I found out that one of the cars hit the crossing equipment and it signaled to the train to stop) I nearly died. After that, my life got great and I never went back to the meetings.

Well, I made if 5 minutes. It actually saddens me when people are so hollow inside that they require these belief systems to feel validated. The facts are in. The bible has been so manipulated and mistranslated that it's useless. Far too many of the characters never lived. There is NO evidence for the miraculous claims it makes. When I left JW after 35 years, it took several more years for me to reevaluate what truth was. So, I started reading again. I didn't make it past Genesis 2 before it dawned on me how ridiculous these tales are. The more I read the bible outside of the propaganda machine of meetings and publications, the more atheist I became. Sad.

@@mamajan99 Woah. 500 eyewitnesses? So they each wrote about it, right? No? You see only ONE man, Paul, claims there were 500 yet we have not a single testimony from any of them and Paul wasn't there, either. I reject your 500 claim on lack of evidence.

@@Eric_01Watch the recent William Lane Craig video (only 34 min) on proof of the resurrection. The evidence presented in the manner he expresses is compelling.

I made it a much further but the point where Falon lost me was about 5 minutes in when she came from the presupposition that God is real. The second was the confirmation bias or coincidence in Falons husbands change of mind being credited to Jesus. Its akin to the old JW lore of people becoming JWs because a witness knocked on their door 2 mins after they prayed so god answered their prayers. Its simply coincidence. I think this is a major fork in the road for exJWs. They leave the religion because they deem it not true but they don't dig deeper to actual evaluate if God is real. Like any JW household growing up, the teaching was "god is real" not "is god real?" so we grow up with the presupposition that god is real. The critical thinking is never taught to ask the question "if god is real". Granted, Falon may have actually deconstructed this and come out with the supposition that god is real but based on her comments, my assumption is that she just continued believing in a god because that is what she had known all long. For me personally I never held a belief in god despite being raised a JW a leaving when I was 35 because quite frankly, the lack of evidence for god and the concept of god didn't make sense. Then when you deconstruct the bible, you realise its just a whole lot of hear'say and stories. If you actually put on your critical thinking hat, the concept of god and the bible falls apart very very easily. Occams razor really does apply here: the simplest answer is usually the correct one. The Vikings believed the weather was a result of the gods because they could not explain it any other way but do we believe in Thor today? No, cause we understand weather and why it happens. Evolution is a scientific fact and has more evidence than the concept of god. The fact that you need a book supposedly written by an almightly individual to prove that almighty individuals existence without any modern day evidence to back this up also crazy. Why did god reveal himself 2000 years ago but now at a time when people seemingly need him the most, does he only reveals himself through mysteries and faith? A god showing up would do a lot to change a lot of peoples minds or beliefs. I appreciate that others continue on with their faith and this is by no means a knock on Falon or any other people who have a belief system but its hard ot take these videos or "testimonies" seriously and just feeds other peoples confirmation bias in their own belief system.

religion is geographical and cultural. if you are born into a faith system, you will end your life in that system, with only a very small percentage of exceptions. this is true of all faith systems. the increase among evangelicals and WT, if they so claim, is taken from the faith system they represent. the very small percentage reality is true of them and all faith systems without exception. this is why it is difficult for any faith system to claim exclusivity at this time. the geographical and cultural borders are not broken down, as they were in the first 3 centuries by the disciples of the master. the true people of God i believe will be discovered during the great tribulation and not before. c h r i s t will choose and rescue from all nations those who are his. these selections will likely surprise many, in that the present faith systems are very restrictive. it is elitist to believe that only certain ones in a particular faith system are 'good enough' in the eyes of the master. that elitism is predestinarian, and condemns everyone born to a particular geographical or cultural location. in the fairness of deity this cannot be the case. you stand as you are in the eyes of God, no matter where you live, no matter what faith system you were born into.

After leaving the Jehovah’s Witnesses, one can only become a Trinitarian, as only Jehovah’s Witnesses are true Christians.

Or, now hear me out, you could come to think of life, the universe, and everything in many other ways. There are so many other options. There aren’t just two choices.

"How and why I became a Christian after leaving a Christian group" Sounds logical 🤨 Let me know if you wanna hear my story of how I became a Zoroastrian after leaving Zoroastrianism.😂
