Going forward, I think Pep should seriously consider converting this City side into a unit that absorbs pressure and plays on the counterattack. Because City do not have the legs to continue playing a high possession system combined with pressing up top and playing a high line at the back. Because it’s making it far too easy for opponents to tear City apart in transition. Contrary to what a lot of people think who’ve only seen Haaland play in City’s extreme possession system, Haaland is not just a penalty box poacher. He’s genuinely perhaps the single most dangerous striker in open space on the counterattack. And many people who never saw Haaland play in open space systems with Dortmund and Salzburg would see a very different version of Haaland that’s so fun to watch.

I’d love us to become a purely counter attacking side. To force teams to have the ball against us and play out against us. Haaland would be devastating playing in behind all the time

Love Pep, but his 3-1-6 system has been an abject failure with the players he has and he’s making it worse bc he keeps playing it and bc they can’t deliver on it properly, they’ll keep dropping points and round and round we go. I couldn’t agree more that Pep should adapt his tactics and ABSOLUTELY incorporate Haaland’s pace & power into our arsenal, yet given Pep is obsessed with possession, it’s not likely that he would want to do that which is unfortunate. Also, I think is insane to keep playing this absurd high backline while inverting a defender when we have zero coverage from the MF. It is literally playing Russian roulette and we conceded how many goals with this absurd setup? 28 goals in 14 games. We literally need to score 3 goals on average to win a game. That is nuts. I’m still quite worried about the remainder of the season bc if Pep continues with this 3-1-6, I don’t think we make Europe, any form of it

On the pitch, under Slot's system the easiest of the three to replace is Trent with Bradley

We will see how City's squad looks after the January window. I don't think they'll win the league like they did that year they were down 11 points however the race for second is wide open.
