Families Are Dependant Upon Animal Agriculture | Problems In A Vegan World | Q & A | Animal Rights

If everyone stops consuming meat milk and eggs, what will happen to those who make a living raising animals? Many have a misconception that they will remain unemployed forever. First understand that the world will not go Vegan in one day. The number of Vegans will increase gradually. From 10-20, 20-30, the number of Vegans are going to increase only very slowly. When such a scenario happens, businesses and sectors which do not have much profit will lose their employees. And those people will begin to find jobs in businesses and sectors that do flourish.
For example let us assume you are the owner of a supermarket. In your shop you sell chicken, fish, milk, eggs and mutton. Along with that you sell fruits, dals, vegetables and starchy vegetables too. As the Vegan message begins to spread the animal products will not sell as much as they used to. At the same time you note that people are buying more plant products.
Earlier your store had a lot of animal products, but when you restock you will buy less amount of meat, milk and eggs from your suppliers. And will stock up on things that are more in demand such as Vegetables, fruits, grains, dals, and many starchy vegetables like potatoes. This not only concerns you but all the food businesses worldwide. They too will have to cut back on animal products.
Therefore the profits of dairy farmers, egg farmers and slaughterhouse owners will slowly reduce.
Since the demand of their products is not like how it used to be they will have to reduce the number of animals they breed. Hence they also need to cut back on the number of employees they have with them.
But at the same time since there is an increase in the demand for Vegan products more manpower would be needed to produce those products. So people need not be unemployed.
For example those who used to be butchers will now be farmers. Truck drivers who used to transport animals will now transport sugar cane and jaggery. Some might move to wheat flour factories. An ex dairy employee can now work for a Vegan hotel or start his own Tea stall.
The old lady who used to sell fish on the beach can now sell corn and peanuts. Those who sold chicken biriyani can now sell Vegan biriyani. Those who have non veg hotels can now sell Vegan food. Those who own bakeries, coffee shops and other industries merely have to start Veganizing their products.
Let’s come back to your supermarket now. Let’s assume in a few years the world goes Vegans and there is 0 demand for animal products. At that point you will completely stop selling animal products. Not only will you increase the amount if Vegan items sold at your shop but you will also introduce a new variety of Vegan products.
This the meaning of capitalism. What is demanded by the majority will be supplied. If we demand Vegan products they will supply exactly that. Businessmen do not care about what we eat. They will provide anything required to make a profit. Hence they will alter their business accordingly. Meaning the fate of these animals rests in our hands. If we demand violence it means the world will provide that. For how long are we going to remain this way? Just because the vas majtority practices something does not make it right. Please think about it and go Vegan.

There are two reasons why vegans comprise a fraction of one percent of the population: The main reason is due to humans’ failure to care about what they put into their own bodies - as long as it tastes good, who gives a damn about the consequences to one’s own health or the ethical concerns regarding other creatures or the environment? The other reason is due to vegan advocates and animal rights activists being inept in their understanding of morality as well as their abysmal grasp of human physiology. Almost every single vegan activist I know of wrongly believes that we are omnivores, and they are clueless in respect to metaethics and applied ethics. But that is not the most unfortunate thing about the matter. Hi, i want to meet you in person and talk with you about how can i meet my goals being a vegan, I'm ready to spend twice as much monthly on supplements and what so ever... I've always been a lacto-ovo vegetarian but i admit that for my selfish desire of bodybuilding and gym, I'm not able to go vegan. Meat is also terrorism & genocide. Our country is most populous now, wat too much over-populated, it is our fault & other species are suffering because of us. Since 1900s Bharat's population has grown more than 7 times in 120 years & hence we intentionally grew the poultry, fishery, dairy market also. Initially Illiterate & uneducated people who didn't want to work hard in fields growing fruits & vegetables, resorted to fishing & butchering. Although butchers & fishermen/women (near water bodies) were there everywhere across world since beginning but today most butchers are seen to belong to some particular communities who were not even there 1000-2000 years back. Since then the local people who were mostly vegeterians have become deluded & greedy meat eaters.

Then far far less crops would be grown. Why are you under the impression that animals eat air, water and sunlight and not crops. Most arable land is used to grow crops for animals not humans so there will be far less destruction of wildlife so you probably won't even have to bait these animals in the first place as they will have plenty of forests becuase less forests are being cleared to grow crops.

Even with that reduction there will be a significant decrease in the land used for crop production. Forests are being cleared for grazing and crop production, if the demand reduces all this will reduce.

Plants don‘t feel pain. Animals do. Also many calories & proteins get lost in the process of feeding plants to the animals you then have killed. So if you want to „kill“ less plants (+ animals) you should definitely go vegan.

It would take f.e. far less resources if everyone would consume just plants. Actually animal farming is really unsustainable (as I stated before). Every year 80 billion land animals are bred, fed and killed, while millions of humans are starving. (Of course there is a distribution problem, but that’s a societal issue, not a vegan issue.) So, in fact, we could feed the entire world population with plants.

Let Arvind secure them a livelihood then. Most of the animal agricultural farmers in India are landless marginal people. With four or five cows they are meeting their daily needs by securing food and fuel for the local community. By doing this such farmers don't need to search for job or depend on others for livelihood. Arvind is just talking empty with the usual vegan logical tricks.
