Beautiful dog and love how alert he is throughout the walk, always watching for threats. This is one very well trained dog. My beautiful pet German Shepherd is quite obedient and protective - but nowhere near to this level. well done :)

A1K9 Ltd dude what dog is that I know it might be a German shep but it doesn't look like it. Anyways that was cool of how your dog is trained how to do that I love it I have some grandparents that breed Presa canario. And they used to breed German Shepherds but the Presa is a good house and protection dog. We also have African burboils which we haven't tested yet but you may like them.if you ever what to buy one I'll send you a link to the sight were you can see. GSD's are amazing family protectors even without specialised training. I've had 3 over 4 decades. My dog is now over 12 years old but still healthy, driven and doesn't allow street beggars within 10 feet of me. He's great with my grandkids, gentle, perceptive and playful. Feel privelaged to have owned such good examples of this breed. Best advice, get some at least basic help to train your dog whatever breed.

I train my German Shepard and yup best protectors you can ever ask for! My boy is going on five years old and he’s huge. But he knows the difference between someone who has bad intentions and those who have good intentions by nature and by commands (I trained him using hand signals). But yup I agree that basic training should be for any breed!

This is What a Personal Protection Dog is supposed to be. The Handler /Owner kept his dog within 6 Meters, Dog stayed in close Proximity with Family. The Threshold on the dog, where the threat had to come to the Family and the K9 shows that dog is safe on the streets, not a liability. A true Personal Protection Dog in my Opinion should not be doing Sends, or being deployed where the dog is leaving the handler in a street civilian situation. If a dog has to be sent after a suspected threat In the same fashion as the Courage Test in protection sports or Law Enforcement application, then that is no longer considered protection, but is now an assualt charge, even if you were actually being threatened, you can still get sued. If you have the option to leave the scene do so, if you have no choice, stand your ground. This dog was well trained by professionals who truly understand the laws, allowing civilians to have reliable Non Lethal Forces of protection, that will Deter threat or make them comply. This is what makes a dog more valuable than a Firearm, even though a Firearm is more Powerful and Lethal.

Thanks for your comment. I think you will find that if the dog was being used as a means of defence the dog biting would most likely be justified. Remember proportionate use of force is justified under the laws of this country, to protect yourself, your property or in some cases to stop a criminal act. I for one would rather defend my position in a court room if it came to it, than in a side street being confronted by two guys who in this day and age will probably be carrying weapons of some kind. Any appropriately sized breed can be trained for this work, but the individual dog has to have a high drive and be very willing and obedient. It's a long training process. Some breeds will naturally excel in this work.

Yes, but it is probably one of his first times training, he seems young, beautiful dog btw, he will be taught more things, like which arm to get if thre is a wepon of some sort. My grandpa used to help train K9 police dogs, he taught them which arm to grab if there were a blade, etc.. This might be the particular one that he worked at but i dont know.

The cop hit the button , his dog was released from the car and took on the three men. Yeah, so? It may be cheaper but will you ever have a companionship with a gun? Will a gun alert you of a threat in the middle of the night? Is a a gun legal in your area? I'm certain that a dog is legal in your area. Will a concealed carry pistol deter any would be criminals? No, it won't because it's concealed and they probably won't see it. A large, loud barking would certainly deter any criminals.

This is a demo to show the ones who don't know how the dog works, but in a real battle the dog must be trained to bite the arm that's holding the weapon, and in case the robber takes out a weapon with his other hand, the dog must jump off his bite to the other hand, and if he tries to hurt the dog with the other weapon, the dog must jump off on and on until the robber has been succesfuly disarmed. Also, the dog musn't be the only one in this battle.. You must fight with the robber too. If you know your dog can defend you in any situation like this but he isn't properly trained, you must tell the robber to wait until you tie the dog, that he has nothing to do and you dont want him (or her) to get hurted. Sorry for the lost.
