I have enjoyed watching then rewatching Shane over and over again since I was a kid.

I disliked Shane when it came out and never watched it again since! I doubt if I ever will!
@JohnnyKray3 күн бұрын
Shane was a VERY good movie, but it was one of those that you either loved or hated. I thought it was well made and it's always good seeing Jack Palance as a bad guy! Shane: "I've heard you're a low down Yankee liar" Wilson: "Prove it"

"The Big Country"! Perhaps the greatest western ever filmed! The music is terrific too!

Jean Simmons as Julie Maragon also added to the movie. 😉

Wrangler: I am happy you included Vera Cruz, the Cooper/Lancaster duel is one of the best ever. One highly underrated duel was Fess Parker and Jeff Chandler in The Jayhawkers!

1:25 - unrealistic but it sure was satisfying 3:00 - needed more context 3:50 - follow up to some really well done scenes 5:16 - early days of the better shoot outs 6:20 - one of the best opening scenes of any movie 7:02 - classic Eastwood 7:52 - (dido - love the background audio) 8:55 - great humor 9:21 - would be so-so if not for Eastwood 9:47 - some of the early western hero standards 10:36 - difficult not to place this one among the best 11:22 - more accurate depiction of a "duel" 12:37 - can't say I would have left this one out either 13:17 - excellent example of the 'Lancaster dramatics"

About the baddest duel I have ever seen was the last ten minutes of "The Quick and The Dead" that sequence is worth the rental of the whole movie.

Some really great ones. My favorite is Kevin Costner’s Charley Waite vs. Kim Coates’ Butler in “Open Range” (2003). Short, and completely subverts expectations. Charley: You the one killed our friend? Butler: That's right. I shot the boy, too. And I enjoyed it.
@dennisyoung46318 күн бұрын
The sentiments expressed (by Butler) were probably commonplace in real life…

The best duels are in "The Ballad of Buster Scruggs". 🤣😂😅😁😇 "Sir, it seems you are no better judge of human beeings than you are a specimen of one !" They still owe us a full Buster Scruggs movie ! Tombstone: Dang, Michael Biehn should have brought his M41 Pulse Rifle.
