That was one of the greatest finishes I've watched in 30 yrs of watching every single stage of every TDF. At 10k to go I thought they'd get caught, at 4k I thought for sure they'd get caught. But when they showed the view of that last corner, I was amazed they held the gap. Awesome!

@@ProducerEmilydo you know if the spectator who caused that awful accident before the race even started was charged at all? Someone throwing crisps in Poggi and Jonas faces would later be charged with aggravated assault (also should have been charged with wanton waste of good crisps too, but that’s a whole other discussion) My point being, if someone can be charged with aggravated assault (and rightly so) for the “crisps incident”, how the hell can someone who breaks 3 teeth of a Pro Rider - before the stage had even started no less - get away with doing so? Just asking in case you were aware of any further context to that incident and can clarify if they were charged, as I never heard any more about it. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing during that pre-stage live stream! Maddening. Considering the cost of fixing that Riders teeth (not to mention the pain, and emotional and mental distress in the moment during a high pressure environment they’ve trained so hard for - as well as the pain and discomfort post-surgery) I hope there were some serious repercussions. It would be a really interesting episode or section to do following-up on some of these kind of incidents, so we have some facts about who did what, the charges, and any statements made to the Press after the fact etc - like the Woman who was holding that “Allez” sign that smacked Tony Martin in the face and decimated the Peloton (and I believe a couple of Riders TDF ended there and one - who’s name escapes me right now - basically retired because of it) I’d love to see a serious deep-dive into this topic at some point if possible - I just can’t for the life of me understand why the UCi is all about rules, consistency and safety measures, yet are so inconsistent with handling incidents like that which surely demands perpetrators be made examples of (like paying a Riders Medical Bill for one!) Final point *(I know, I’m far too verbose for my own good!)* kudos to the way the Tour of Britain was handled though - it was refreshing to see [pretty much] every traffic island and possible hazard either clearly defined or physically signalled by Moto-Riders upon the approach of the Peloton. It just proved that with some actual forethought and proper organisation, it can be done. Rider safety should always be absolutely paramount. No more careers and lives cut short and families like deprived of their loved ones like Andre Drege or Gino Mäder these past few seasons. A cherished friend races for Ineos and as much as I do adore this Sport, I know so much more could be done to limit injury and prevent any further deaths. (Apologies for the long-ass*d reply - if you made it this far, thank you - and have a cookie!) 😋

Checking strava Poggi ave 40kph, therefore the peloton Ave that, over 3800 meters of climbing. For Cav to finish 39 mins down, he hasn't done badly, especially if he has a stomach issue.
@hendrixinfinity39925 ай бұрын
The margins get smaller the higher the speed, so Cav was probably averaging something like 35, which is still insane.

Big expensive mikes but poor mike technique. Too 'plosive'. Please lower mike so it's below chin. Talk across top of mike, not into it. They are sensitive instruments; stop overpowering them, and it'll make for more appealing video too, when you can see more of people's faces. Mind you, these guys have often said they don't read comments, so this is more for other viewers to observe than in any expectation Jimmy or Emily will actually change what they're doing. On the plus side, good to see cables in this set up having a bit more freedom; not pulled at a very tight angle from bottom of mike. Congrats on that.
