The unquestioned favorite for Packers fans in the 2024 NFL Draft is Iowa Cornerback Cooper Dejean. The athleticism and versatility jump off the tape, and is something Green Bay covets at a position of need.
Following his private Pro Day, he is likely moving up draft boards. Just one month after clearing medicals following a broken tibia, Dejean crushed his workout, and I'm sure that's just scratching the surface.
In this draft profile, we look at Cooper Dejean's strengths, weaknesses, game tape and highlights to talk about why he is a great fit for the Green Bay Packers.
This is Cooper Dejean's Draft Profile.

Eagles fan here. I was shocked we scooped up both top rated defensive backs Q. Mitchell and Cooper DeJean in the 1st & 2nd rounds last month. packers fans should see both our picks in action against GB in NFL 2024 season opener in São Paulo, Brazil.

They’re definitely one of the spots I fear he would go before we’re up. I think it’s Philly, Pittsburgh, and Jacksonville that are my biggest landing spots ahead of the Packers.

The youth movement on the Green Bay Packers offense is extremely exciting. Brian Gutekunst can turn his other side of the ball, which is transitioning to a different scheme under new defensive coordinator Jeff Halfley, who should turn up the pressure quite a few notches after Joe Barry’s tenure. Green Bay already features Jaire Alexander, Eric Stokes, and Keisean Nixon at cornerback. Jaire Alexander has played 53 percent of the Packers games the last 3 seasons, though, he dealt with back and shoulder injuries during the 2023 campaign. Erik Stokes played in all of the 3 games last season, and the organization still has a decision to make regarding his 5th-year rookie option. The selection of Iowa’s Cooper DeJean is as much of a safety net as it is adding a premium athlete and quality defender. “Cooper DeJean is one of the most versatile defensive backs in the draft, if not versatile,” Giddings said. “Throughout his career, he has shown to be a true threat as a punt returner, averaging 13.1 yards a return. “As a defender, Cooper DeJean has shown the twitch and ball skills necessary to play cornerback at the next level. With him being a Midwest guy, he’ll fit right into the Packers culture, while this team lands a long-term solution at defensive back.” Go Pack Go 💚💚💛💛

For as much as anyone can think we're set at Corner, you nailed it Ray. The injuries that Ja has dealt with, not to mention the uncertainty of Stokes at this point, leaves us open to a very different CB room this time next year. Who knows if they'll pick up Stokes' 5th year option (I doubt it) and if that's the play then CB is a big need next year. Might as well cash in on that insurance policy now with Dejean or another of the high CB prospects, though I like Dejean for that versatility, athleticism, and character. Giddings had it spot on. He would fit right in with the Packers culture.

He confirmed a lot with his athleticism, but so many reports sound like teams view him more as a Safety than a corner. Could help him slide far enough for the Packers, if he’s their guy.

I wasn't for moving up because I was certain we could get DeJean at #25, and any draft pick can become an NFL star. I hate giving up draft capital. We can get great players in any round. If we don't get DeJean, we can still draft Cole Bishop and Renardo Green within the next 2 RDs. If someone takes DeJean before the Packers, then someone else will be pushed down to the Packers. IMO, if Gute is wanting DeJean, he'll be trading up, and it won't matter what I want.

I love your last sentence. We are at the will of Gutey and for the most part, I'm alright with that. I usually view things the same way you do, with every passing pick, someone gets pushed further towards the Packers pick. Gotten really comfortable picking late in the first and seeing guys go off the board who I would've loved to see as Packers haha. I would never trade the in season success for the chance to pick higher.

I would support moving up a few spots, but I don't think I'd move above 20 due to his limitations in deep coverage.

That’s always the question when you think about moving up for a guy. Where is the limit in the value given up to get there. I think I’d draw my cap at around 16 for him.

@@GreenBayFootballCorp I agree with you on that I saw that he was called a HIGH SCHOOL SPRINT CHAMPION from Iowa and he was clocked in CRAZY SLOW TIMES of 11.1/22.1 if he was a NJ NATIVE like myself he would have never been allowed to enter a stadium much less run in any meet.He should have volunteered for training in Track to get faster than that I can just see TYREEK HILL licking his chops if he saw DeJean on a field knowing the obvious. His former teammate RILEY MOSS who was the high school hurdler should have done that as well to get faster he ran the hurdles in 13.8 while in high school he could have been faster than that.Moss ran a 4.45 at the combine last year.

@@dwightlove3704 The funny thing about shred to me is how different it can be from track to on the field. Not that any of those dudes struggle once pads are in, but some dudes just can’t play as fast all kitted up.
