Good & useful comparison. I just picked up a wheel last week for NH5 & am extremely satisfied, plus relieved that I didn’t blow $. The difference in control is striking, & i am no longer a liability to cause a wreck like before. There’s a reason the word “control” is repeated so many times during this vid. I noticed it instantly as I was able to keep my car comfortably under control on one of those narrow, single-lane asphalt drives that are at some tracks in which you get up to speed before blending on the backstretch. Also, dirt racing is an absolute joy with a wheel, although it did take quite a bit of practice to get the feel for it on dirt.

I've used the Logitech G920 on PC for years, it is a good wheel, some problems with the pedals as they need to be cleaned every once in a while. Other than the cleaning, I don't have any problems with it.

Depends on how bad you really want the upgrade. My G920 set me back about $375 total, & I do not have buyer’s remorse in the least. Was literally plug & play on XB1 with zero issues. Like with many things, I would advise pay as much as you can afford to.

everyone who says that fanatec isn’t worth it is right... it’s not worth it if your playing Heat5, the force-feedback engine is no where near good enough to take advantage of the abilities of a fanatec wheel., simply getting a logetic wheel is good enough. For a fanatec wheel to be worth it you need to driving in a sim like Iracing, ACC, RF something that has actual quality FFB. Oval Racing in Iracing is amazing with a good wheel.

I use a controller and I rotate between easy and normal driving aid depending on the track. I feel like I have to because the car is so hard to control with just your left thumb.

The thing I'm still wondering is how Heat 5 is apparently so good on a wheel while Heat 4 on a wheel is UNGODLY atrocious if the physics have barely been touched.

I primarily play Heat 5 offline, on my PC (using my T150) & yeah I agree, using a wheel makes a huge difference. Though, when I do go online from time-to-time (on console), I'll just use a controller.

I'm curious if you had to make any changes or if the wheel being a NASCAR licensed wheel makes a difference, because I have the same base but a different wheel and the game just seems to think that the middle of the steering range is a giant deadzone and it's completely unplayable.

Are you Xbox? If so Get a G920 if your PS4 get the G29. If your PC get the G29.If your able to afford into the Thrustmaster or Fanatec just make sure its compatible for your console if your xbox or ps4. Pretty much any and all wheels will work on PC

Get a belt driven wheel stay away from gear driven wheels they are awful. You’ll have to spend some money though either way

Funnily enough I find the complete opposite . I have far more control with a controller than a wheel I bought a logitech wheel about 3 years ago hardly use it . It's okay on ovals but as soon as the car gets loose you have no control and crash. Much easier to recover on a pad. . And a road course a wheel is next to useless. Have to drive so slow and carefully as any twitch in the car and you crash. . For me personally wheels are pointless on a console. Way faster lap times with a controller.

@@philip.goodman Nascar Heat isn't a sim like IRacing or NR2003. Heat always felt janky physics-wise at least to me, and whenever I use my wheel on it, it's hard to use when you're so used to an actual sim. Controller is perfectly usable, but wheel is odd.
