When I saw this video I wasn't sure what to expect. I love Chael Sonnen but I don't think I am crossing any boundaries when I say he can get long winded at times (I do the same thing so nothing but love here). But he is actually a very effective teacher. He really explained this well while keeping it short and concise but also showing everything step by step instead of in one motion. Awesome job!

Not a knowledgeable guy on this, but with that last collar tie , couldn’t you get a under hook and then trip with your foot (same side as arm) and with opposite hand push the opponents shoulder and flip them backwards? Seems like it would work. Thanks for anyone who comments and helps Me out here

Yeah I never really used the knee tap either it never really occured to me. Very effective and safe move tho. Oddly enough, ever since I started playing fighting games I started understanding wrestling on a deeper fundamental level. You get punished for very unsafe and overcommital moves like double legs and single legs. But a lot of clinch stuff is pretty safe and you can chain stuff together while still remaining defensively responsible. Smh I wish I could go back into my freshman body with everything I know and start over

Is your undertook deep and high? Deeper and higher is harder to whizzer on.

In that situation I usually fake a high crotch and go single leg if they are clamping down on my left arm in an over hook. If they are clamping down on my right arm I'll fake a single leg and go bars gar(head on inside) double leg or if you are athletic cut the corner. Don't forget about body locks. There are only a few moves from the over hook mainly the fireman's series and the hip toss. If you have the under hook you are usually in better position.
