Another great feature that the original Megaman X has that none of the other sequels have is depending on which robot master you play first can affect another stage example play chill peguin stage first and defeat him and it will freeze flame mammoth stage,defeat storm eagle stage and his air fortress will crash into spark mandrill stage,defeat launch otcopus and it will flood sting chameleon stage as these results will make each of these stages much easier and if you collect all power ups and hearts and energy tanks you can find a special power capsule which doctor light teaches you how to fire a hadouken which is a one hit instant kill!

I didn't like Chakan either, Dave! Too frustrating. I did beat Kid Chameleon a few times though - my attention span was way longer as a teenager, apparently. I remember calling the Sega hotline on that one, because there was this one level about halfway through where I searched for hours, not able to find an exit. It turned out that it was a trap level that indeed had no exit; if you wound up there via the branching level paths, then too bad, you had to start over! Now that's harsh.

If you go by the the Mega Drive's standard then the GBA would be marketed as 16-bit while under the same standard as the SNES, considering the SNES has an 8 to 16-bit CPU, the GBA would be marketed as 32-bit.

@MrJechgo10 жыл бұрын
1) The title killed me XD 2) Joe, do yourself a favor and SKIP... ENTIRELY Mega Man X6 and X7. Mega Man X5 was supposed to be the LAST game of the series before moving on to the Mega Man Zero series on GBA. However, Capcom screwed Inafune up by milking the series. The story lost its impact in X6, although the mecanics didn't get affected that much. X7 got the balls dropped on... HARD. Capcom tried to go 3D with the series and failed miserably. Furthermore, get this, they made Mega Man X, the titular character of the series... UNLOCKABLE. Yes, you start the game as Zero and newcomer Axl and have to unlock Mega Man X, who has become all emo and depressed from the war. X8, on the other hand, nearly corrected everything X7 has done wrong: they reverted to 2D gameplay, while keeping the 3D graphics, you get to select all 3 Hunters from the start, and the intro stage rotates them to get you accustomed to their abilities, the voice acting is much better, the music is more rocking, the boss battles are more straight-forward, the stages are more linear, the secret stuff utilizes each Hunter's ability. It's the better game. On a sidenote, you should also try Mega Man X: Command Mission, a JRPG-styled game and it works great. 3) That Faceball 2000 ad was awesome!

David Molina Salazar Well, like I said, X6's gameplay works just fine. The problem with X6 is the story: Zero and X get shot and supposed to be destroyed for good at the end of X5. However in X6, X is revived and he gets to chance to find Zero who has been repairing HIMSELF during that period??? That doesn't add up.
@SpiralPegasus10 жыл бұрын
MrJechgo Oh, come on, I love X6 but it was broken. It had a lot of blind jumps (with bottomless pits below of course) and the up+attack _downward_ slash was absolutely retarded. The story, yes, too, was flaky, and not translating the dialogs was just lazy. It does have the *absolute best* music in a Mega Man X game and it looks great, though.
@MrJechgo10 жыл бұрын
SpiralPegasus I'm not saying that X6 was perfect either... the gameplay worked... most of the time, and it retained the series' major staples. The story got shafted hard, and I mean HARD. That's why it's not worth playing after X5. Same goes with X7. At least X8 was a decent recovery.

David White Great news... it would make it cool to watch episodes at a constant HD definition. I'll be waiting for this to happen... just please don't limit it to USA distribution... it will be such an ass to get it arranged to send it to AU. ;-)

David White I know, but I'm going to make the same comment until the dvd or blu ray is released. :)

Really good episode guys. With Rival Turf it is interesting how when publishers brought game series over from Japan they just changed up the names to make them there own title despite if they were part of an ongoing series....... though it's probably either "they didn't care lets just get those games out" or "the last game didn't do as well as they hoped so maybe changing the name of the next game will differentiate enough to get more people to buy it.

This may sound weird... but in the little clips, where you put in the cartridges do you actually push them all the way through or just gently place them into the tray, to make it look more effortlessly? Just asking because it looks definitely different than when I try to shove some carts in (don't ask).

Wow, great episode as usual guys, really enjoyed. I thought the skit at the end was awesome; i really look forward to those. can't wait for the next gamesack. Do the 8 bit swap and 32 bit swap separately tho as i'd really like to see as many opinions as possible.

You'd definitely have to have an Nintendo Entertainment System and Sega Mater System switch. For SMS, I'd pick Phantasy Star, Alex Kidd, Zillion, Golden Axe Warrior and Wonder Boy. For NES, I'd pick Punch-Out, Gargoyle's Quest II, Battletoads, R.C. Pro-Am and Castlevania III...or any of the Mario or Zelda games. I'd also like a Saturn vs 64 and DreamCast vs GameCube. Although the DC is closer to the 64 than the GC, the Saturn and 64 are both 5th Gen. Consoles while DC and GC are both 8th Gen. Consoles.

I like how Joe got all crap except for _MegaMan X_ and _Kirby: Superstar_ while he gave Dave some of the maybe less known but definitely more interesting games on SEGAs 16bit beast. Interesting episode for sure, thumbs up!

I'd start reconsidering friendships when you are given Rival Turf and Faceball to play. :^) Another great one, guys. The editing was kick ass!!!!!!

This is my favorite episode of Game Sack so far. Also I must ask how do you record your Genesis Joe? I recently got a Sega Genesis and i would like to record the games I own for it without use of an emulator(Because i like to be legit with playing retro games).
@GameSack9 жыл бұрын
+bachesag Normally I use a Genesis 2 that was modded for s-video. In our later episodes we have switched to capturing via RGB. If you're going that route you'd need a Framemeister, an RGB SCART input and an El Gato capturing device.

+bachesag there's another choice. there is a box that's around 70 bucks and I kidd you not is amazing! perfect skart. I use for Sega Saturn, Sega cd/genesis,snes and even a modded Turbo 16. you don't need to spend 400 on a frameister

I love beat-em-ups and enjoyed the Rushing Beat series. I never played much Brawl Brothers, but I rented Rival Turf several times. It had a code where you could rename all the enemies. I had so much fun naming them as all my friends from school. It would mean little now, but it was awesome in 2nd grade. Peace Keepers was my favorite actually because it had a lot of cool easter eggs and branching pathways to select. Plus one of the coolest features allowed you to hook up the multi-tap and play 4 players arcade style. I never got to try it out though.

Also Megaman X is my all time favorite SNES game so I have to point out that at 4:37 you didnt have dash boots so you couldnt dash ahead like you wanted to. Flame mammouths weapon killed that thing instantly pretty much and allowed you to just walk on ahead.

Great show as always guys. Your production value is second to none. I never thought much of Magic Sword until I played it with a long distance friend on the Final Fight Double Impact game on PSN. It's really a much better experience when playing it with a friend, or perhaps even an enemy. :)

In Mega Man X, unlike classic Mega Man, you can also charge the special weapons (well in Mega Man 2, the Atomic Fire was the first chargeable weapon, but with the X series, some of the charged special weapons even have cool abilities).
