"It was a run by cloning." Hilarious. Have you guys ever considered doing full length commentary tracks for movies? I think you could make some really funny content if you find other movies like this one, that you all have strong feelings about, and just tear them apart from beginning to end. Also, I just saw the deleted scenes section - James Cromwell's British accent was unbelievable. My brother and I didn't realize he was supposed to be British until he yelled, "Get my bloody medication!" We turned to each other in the theater and just started laughing. Pretty much every line after that got a laugh and it kept getting funnier and funnier every time he spoke.

18:49 Exactly! Agreed 100% with Dan. *NO*. I do not expect a movie about cloning dinosaurs to be fact-checked by Neil Degrasse Tyson (I know that he's an astrophysicist not paleontologist, but he's also the token science guy). But I expect it to make logical sense. I expect the makers to insert common sense into the movie. An unlikely premise does not exempt a movie from common sense! Unless you're making a movie with the Looney Toons. The Indoraptor cage scene, was straight up classic Elmer Fudd.

I honestly didn't like the movie, but my main issue (and I have many) is the price of the dinosaurs. I mean 20/30M, are you kidding me for a dinosaur? Football players cost 100 to 300M (Neymar)! All big sports teams could afford to buy 10 of these dinos and just have them around like prehistoric mascots ffs
@edmg76 жыл бұрын
Difference is the rich guys were buying them to use as weapons. An athlete can be afforded for that much money because they have the potential to make it back pretty quickly in advertisements and ticket sales, but only the athletes that have proven an asset in their game have that potential to make money and therefore are worth the investment. War is won on many factors (including using much more efficient weaponry than a large and easily shot animal that leaves tons of evidence behind, but let's ignore that obvious and obnoxious plot hole for now) and one common factor for out-lasting your opponent is spending money more wisely. If, as you suggest, someone at the auction were spending 10 times what they ended up paying when their competition clearly didn't want to go that high, that's money that could go to making an additional 9 dinosaurs that they ended up only spending on 1. Meanwhile, a competitor would have bought the DNA and research for cloning dinosaurs for the $30 million, and then starts making an army of dinosaurs with the remaining $270 million. Who has the upper hand in that situation? Basically: if in the Jurassic Park movies world making dinosaurs is far cheaper than buying them, the rich people will invest in making their own. Which, now that I'm typing this out makes me realise the real trick is the cloning, because if we could grow athletes for $10 million their value would drop too.
