@@prismmioouu If you were talking about underrated fantasy series who nobody talks about, I will give you a huge list to start with 😂. About rick Riordan, I think a lot of people already read it. Umm I get your point but then again, where I live, people read his works till they are in junior high? I adore it because of it doesn't use the same bullshit YA fiction formula. I think there's a lot of people who think the same. Among non readers, I would say, this is the second most popular series (all combined) after Harry potter (since they have no clue that there are way better books), if you are not counting all that popular YA bullcrap. 😕

Yeah the Twilight and the Cursed Child. Completely relatable. Also one of the most problematic thing that I witnessed was, guys and girls in my school reading Chetan Bhagat and Twilight, while in 8th grade ! I now wonder how unhealthy it must have had been. Also, don't pay heed to the hate comments... I pity them really, how empty they must be at the time. Your videos are wonderful always. OMG! You're so right about Mrs Funnybones. I was feeling exactly the same way. It read like as though she wrote down just anything that came to her mind and called it a book which a huge publishing house happily decided to market and sell. I wonder if an unknown or a new author had approached publishing houses with such a terribly written book with no plot, they would've thrown the manuscript on the author's face!!!

Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami - there's actually no story, all characters are frustrated, want to suicide or have sex. One hundred years of solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez - so confusing plot, i left in 100 pages. Milkman by Anna Burns - No idea how it got Man Booker. Absolutely no plot, and the writing is horrible, no punctuation and pages are filled with all nonsense with some incomprehensible words. Also left in 117 pages.

Chetan Bhagat is one author whose popularity is beyond me. And you are right about Twinkle Khanna...Her popularity as a writer is more to do with her famous surname. Harry Potter and the cursed child was indeed not up to the mark. I loved Twilight but the subsequent books not so much. A popular series that I really, really hate is Fifty Shades series. If you feel bad about Edward Cullen & Bella then wait till you read about Anastasia and Christian Grey.

6:53 i don't like twilight saga either but what u said abt bella's character giving a wrong message to young girls isn't sth i agree with. i mean she is a teen and many teen girls do think about their romantic relationships. and may be what bella thinks is wrong, u can't expect a character to be the way u want him/her to be. they can be flawed. so i don't think its a good idea to insert ur morals into that. of course i respect ur opinion and ur perspective. but books are not always meant to be abt lessons. character can be bad and evil as well

Jk Rowling, of a good writer but she was actually making up the story as she went, evident from the fact that she introduced time Turner which completely breaks the world mechanics of wizarding world and brings to question why didn't they use it to defeat voldemort but let a 13 year old girl use it to learn I mean which of the above two is more important? Also Barty Crouch could have easily kidnapped Harry any time but no he has to lay an elaborate plan with every chance of failure and some how pulls it off. Also George and Fred had been watching their brother sleep next Peter pettigrew for 3 whole years and never batted am eye?! I mean books were good for that age when we were young but now when you notice all this it takes away the charm
@fandomnewbie
@fandomnewbie 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah there are A LOT of plot holes in Harry Potter. Especially in the world building aspect. The thing that works for Harry Potter is the escapism, that she imagined a world which has magic and in which kids are the heroes. I think that works very well for the age group that it targets. And it imparts some really important lessons of love and acceptance - things the the author herself seems to have forgotten these days 🙄🙄🙄 Oh but about the Time Turner thing, the reason why they couldn’t go back in time to kill Voldemort is because the way time travel is explained in the book is a closed loop phenomena. So if I’m not wrong, the person gone back in time has to relive the time between the past he went to and the present he left. Which meant that anyone going back in time over such a long time would mess up the present and their age in the present and that isn’t allowed. Does that make sense? Hahaha
@spandanpattanayak40
@spandanpattanayak40 3 жыл бұрын
@@fandomnewbie just saw I had a comment from you!!! About the time Turner, lets just say they go back in time just before voldemort was resurrected, they know where he was hiding( his father's old house) and he was reduced to almost nothing. Dumbledore would just go back 3-. 4 hours back and bam voldy is dead.
