Honestly truth, too bad we still need to use them in modern day society and music

Don't throw the baby out with the bath water. Streaming has made the charts more accurate and relevant today than they ever have been. And pre-1990s, they were a complete joke. They weren't even automated, and a lot of it was guess work. Rolling Stones attempting to copy and rival Billboard in 2019 with their own charts should be a testament to how much more culturally relevant and lucrative industry-watching is than it ever has been. The problem with these particular lists (and all of Billboard's genre charts) is that they have a strange and largely outdated vision of genre. A lot of it is based on grouping songs by what radio stations they play on. And you're right, radio isn't very 21st century.

Cole you hit it on the money for me. None of those song represented hip hops substance just its aesthetics. I understand its based on commercial success but as songs these are fun but lacking heavily in value. Financial value may be a priority for billboard but when you just throw together two different genres associated with black culture, and list songs that only vaguely resemble the essence of either genre you set a precedent for the level of respect had for it. And it is about race. At least have a quality list if youre going to make a quantity list. I dont respect it at all. Post Molone is now hip hop or R&B. He piggys off of it. Macklemore uses rap but doesnt have hip hop in his essense either. It is dissappointing that these people represent the culture. Even if they boosted the size and commercial value of hip hop and R&B they gutted the soul out of it. Thats what this list says to me.
