I still don't understand why Newt Scamander has anything to do with this conflict, zoology doesn't seem helpful. Other than keeping Eddy Redmayne under contract.
@SuperMoviemaster212 жыл бұрын
Because Newt is a character who is so focussed on and who truly loves his beasts that he is cunning and determined enough to be able to do anything for them and as he has access to the beasts as shown in the climax of crimes of Grindelwald and in what people have said about this movie, they are at times the most useful thing to be used for the job/against the forces in question. As Dumbledore tells him in the previous movie, he does not seek glory or any form of power, he only ever truly questions whether or not something is truly right and if it truly has to be this way. It is truly all of these points that makes in the most pivotal protagonist within this conflict and overall series :-)
@ladyorapma2 жыл бұрын
He's just there because they called the movies Fantastic Beasts... 😔 If they wanted a movie about Newt they should have done just ONE movie about Fantastic Beasts, and then a different saga for the Grindelwald war... for some reason they tried to mix both things and now because this saga is tittle Fantastic Beast they keep trying to put any fantastic beasts they can in the movies just for the tittle to make sense and poor Newt is just there in the middle of the conflict for no good reason.
@SuperMoviemaster212 жыл бұрын

I've been seeing reviews and most (not all) seem to think that Newt and his beasts have nothing to do in this movie, but since I haven't seen it myself yet I'm totally open to them doing a good job integrating Newt and the beast into the story . That won't change my opinion that it would have worked better if the didn't mix Newt with Grindelwald's war, but since this is the way they decided to go I just hope they do a decent job with it.

I actually quite liked the first movie. I do think a big issue with this series is David Yates, he's been directing HP movies for about 10 years now and has barely evolved as a director. WB needs to find somebody new to rejuvenate the franchise.
@SuperMoviemaster212 жыл бұрын
Indeed, I cannot believe how it’s actually possible for the same Director who gave us the worst harry potter movies actually gave us the leagues better fantastic beasts movies, let alone the fact of whether you agree or not, the fantastic beasts movies just feel and seem like they were made with more and better passion and effort, as if David Yates actually wants to make them out of passion and genuine interest as opposed to his other movies seemingly only being made for a paycheque/just trying to find the most efficient way of doing them/ the movies Just overall having this “let’s just get this over with” attitude. I mean, the fantastic beasts movies do not have the horribly abysmal colouring and lighting that the David Yates harry potter movies have, even though they are still of course dark but at least you can actually see let alone actually care about what’s going on. As well, they have a lot more nuance with their filmmaking and just do a better job of capturing the emotion and connection and relationship between the characters without either over or under doing it or making it overly complicated. As noted before when you watch them it just feels and seems like they’re having a lot more fun with it when regardless of what was in the script, as in the half blood Prince movie it was literally David Yates, Not originally the Script’s idea for the bridge scene, and even though the scene is decent in the movie, it still doesn’t feel like it was fully realize what it could’ve been, unlike literally everything that was in the fantastic beasts movies only suffering if any at all from the material that he was given. Again why couldn’t he have fully realized and made the scene more engaging in better with half blood Prince even though of course it was long before fantastic beasts? Same with the Sirius Black and Bellatrix dual in order of the Phoenix which he has stated that he apparently “understands“ why people are supposedly upset with the duel being cut short when it was in fact filmed [An even featured a bit in a teaser trailer and then some prominently released B roll footage], And would not of interrupted The overall pacing and flow all that much, When they were even other scenes they could’ve cut out to help with that. #FantasticBeastsTheSecretsOfDumbledore

The tragedy of Dumbledore's backstory was in the books all this time (aside from the gay romance stuff). So I don't see how old backstory information would work for people who read the Harry Potter books.
@ajiththomas24652 жыл бұрын
To be fair, in the books, we only read a single defining moment in Albus Dumbledore’s life, when he was around 18-20, and the circumstances leading up to said defining moment. But that was only really Told to us rather than Shown to us. There are plenty of interesting facets of Dumbledore’s life that could be explored in the several decades following the event of his sister Ariana's death. As for the gay romance, I don't mind it and I know that at the time that Rowling was writing the books, there were British laws that restricted depictions of LGTBQ in media. I always thought of Dumbledore as gay. When I found about the Tweet from JKR that confirmed it, I shrugged and thought, "Figures." Like, I definitely got those vibes from how in the books, Dumbledore would wear robes in such flamboyant colors that the only thing I could think about it was that Dumbledore looked like Merlin but with Elton John's fashion style and tastes. It's not just me here who thought this, right?
@MariaRodriguez-hb4ix2 жыл бұрын
@@ajiththomas2465 I knew he was gay from the start . Maybe because I had read a ton of Japanese BL / Yaoi stuff . Actually, the good main gay falling in love with the villain and ended in a duel was a plot I read long ago . There are these group of mangaka , CLAMP , who used a lot of tragic love and gay characters on many of their mangas . The ones I’m referring are Tokyo Babylon and 1999 . First one is how the gay main character felt in love with the villain. Second one , never finished , except for the gay couple confrontation . Is about magical factions of good and evil fighting for the fate of Earth . End of the first story is very dramatic. As the villain killed the good guy sister and then told him he never loved him . But this part was a lie .

@@ajiththomas2465 I think the issue was that initially Rowling denied it to a journalist, then stated Dumbledore was gay right before one of the movies came out for the shock value. I haven't seen any of the Fantastic Beasts and really wasn't keen on doing so, but now that DT is starting to give it their seal of approval, I might give it a try. And if Martin laughs this hard, that's all I need to know anyway😆

The Third where it once again has no justification for calling it Fantastic Beasts... If they called it The Chronicles of Dumbledore, I'd get it

Idk why Eddie isn't getting or signing other movies. it's like there's a contract that he can't sign other movie roles while in this franchise. This movie is really abt Dumbledores love drama with his ex? 😂😂 or did I mishear it? Coreys impression of Eddie "Talking like he has asthma" looool Martins laugh attack had me😅

I get that JK Rowling is not the most liked individual in the world right now, but I throughly disagree that a movie critic would feel the need to bring their personal feelings into something that has nothing to do with the task at hand which is to review a movie not a person. If you are unable to separate the artist from the art then do not review the movie, boycott it if you must but me as a viewer of movies; I am not interested in a persons political or personal issues of another person or persons in a movie review. Just the movie itself; whether it was good or bad or okay. This is not the platform for, nor should it be encouraged.

Any movie critic that can't judge a movie for what it is shouldn't be a critic.

If you cant see a movie for the movie because of bias with the creator then you shouldn't be a critic.
