They should definitely save characters like Dr. Doom and Galactus for the post Multiverse-saga movies (if Marvel gets that far), I had a feeling the Egyptian Kang Variant (Rama Tut) was going to be the main villain but I'm pretty sure Jonathan Major's isn't going to be in that movie. They could probably dig around for some obscure Fantastic 4 villain. Dr. Doom is also a pretty big villain, so to have him appear right before two already crowded multiverse event movies (Kang Dynasty, Secret wars) would be a bit too much.

Interesting point - if they want to start working w Doom, they could instead make some unrelated standalone films charting his origins, waiting before introducing him into the larger MCU melee - taken on its own terms, his epic story could easily support a trilogy - one for his childhood defending his persecuted Romani tribe, another for his travels in this world and the next as he becomes Dr Doom, and the third for his triumphant return and conquest of Latveria
@Slasher120 Жыл бұрын
@@zmani4379 Yeah, that'd actually be epic. I kinda envisaged him as being the next Thanos-level villain. The MCU also desperately needs more reoccuring villains to give us rivalries between characters. The only characters they really did this with was with Loki and Bucky, and to an extent Kang. In Quantumania they turned MODOK into a joke and almost immediately killed him off (AND IM A MASSIVE MODOK FAN). Same thing goes for characters like Red-skull (he technically doesn't die, but you get what I mean). It would also be cool if this Dr. Doom had really strong reasons for why he was fighting. I'm not that familiar with his comic depiction, but from what I've seen in the movies he's just an evil scientist turned comic-book villain. I know vaguely that he's supposed to be the protector of some country (which you mentioned). The only problem I see with your proposal is that MCU movies aren't exactly doing well recently, and getting audience's in the seat's for three movies for an in-depth character analysis of Dr. Doom would be quite hard, as I'm guessing there won't exactly be the same level of action. Still really cool idea.

Whichever version of secret wars they adapt (the 80s one or the more recent one) you can’t really do it without Doom, especially if he’s available. He needs to get introduced sooner rather than later simply so they can set him up to play the requisite pivotal role in secret wars

Nice video - I agree Dr Doom should be an Oscar buzz type character - the MCU can't disregard his Romani heritage - it's too central to this character - he's driven by the racial discrimination he and his family experienced in his childhood, and the MCU is especially sensitive to such diversity aspects - Doom could be played, say, by an Indian actor, since the Romanis are part of the South Asian diaspora - IMO get a smoldering Shakespearean actor, w a well-trained voice, for Doom's famously operatic ranting - a charismatic actor whose presence alone can fill a room - Doom has the potential to be used as a key geopolitical figure, like the MCU Namor, or T'Challa - with his South Asian heritage, and Latveria's strategic position, Dr Doom can become a very topical icon of Eurasian integration, in the same way that Namor stood for Indigenous peoples (they could update Latveria's traditional Cold War role by moving it into Central Asia as a former Soviet republic - "Latveristan" - and maybe Dr Doom discovered vibranium there, and used it to bring that feudal republic into the space age?) - Doom has one of the most epic origin stories, that deserves standalone treatment like Venom In any case, I'm glad they're not using Doom in this first F4 outing (this news of Terrax is exciting) - it's good how they're taking their time to get all this right, considering how many times it's been botched - Dr Doom's South Asian heritage is crucial - both for the character's sense of identity, and for the MCU's larger ambitions in dealing w ethnic diversity and tapping into today's geopolitics - if they want to broaden the casting pool, then an Indian actor would at least be ethnically accurate (and that region alone has the world's largest film and theatre industries, let alone the enormous Desi diaspora), and the MCU would avoid charges of white-washing and ignoring this character's richly fascinating roots yet again
@cornonjacob Жыл бұрын
Nice idea, tho I don't like the whole "oh, found more vibranium here too". If they had to, I'd want it to be a super small amount, like roughly a bowling ball. That way it's not enough to make a whole op society like Wakanda, but enough for Doom personally to do some stuff that's super impressive with the amount he has.
@zmani4379 Жыл бұрын
@@cornonjacob I see what you mean - I was thinking of the geopolitics in Wakanda Forever - how Namor and Shuri were both reflecting larger global concerns - and Doom can bring Eurasian dynamics into the mix - he did work a kind of miracle in rapidly developing Latveria, so I thought that could play into intrigue over rare resources, but you're right that too much vibranium could dilute its role - maybe Doom's Latveria approaches Wakanda to seek partnership sharing tech and resources - tho I can still envision Latveria and Wakanda as 2 contrasting vibranium nations
@kingofhearts3185 Жыл бұрын
Doom also knows a lot of magic, so maybe Latveria's unique thing could be merging advanced tech, maybe copy Tony's nanotech, with magic.

It just annoys me because it's the same argument they made for Spider-Man, that everyone knows his origin already and we don't need to see it. I like the idea of Sue being more of the focal character, could be interesting, especially as she is the more grounded character who keeps the group together. Vanessa Kirby's still not an actress that I would've put in my top 3 (she just feels a bit off, more of an Emma Frost) based on what I've seen, but I also think she'll do a solid job (it's not the MCU casting that's concerned me the most). For the Reeds, I think Adam Driver would be pretty solid, I think Matt Smith could do a great job based on his Doctor Who (which had an interesting range) and it'd be nice to see him actually do well with a post-Doctor role (especially a larger franchise, since he seems to have been burned by all of them), though Dev Patel is also my favourite of the three. Still agree with Nando's fancasting of William Jackson Harper but John Cho remains my favourite choice for the moment. Jack Quaid's been the best Johnny casting I've heard given any credence, though I'd accept Joseph Quinn (but if we're going for Stranger Things actors, why isn't it Joe Keery? He's full of Johnny Storm energy). The Ben Grimm situation seems to be the weirdest. Definitely agree Ebon Moss-Bachrach seemed to be headed for that role, though there is a part of me that wondered if he was going to be a very different Reed. Don't see him as Silver Surfer or Terrax, really, though they might make it work. Is it wrong that I kinda want Harvey Guillen from What We Do In The Shadows? I think he'd bring an interesting energy, but I could see it working, and I think he's got the range. There is a part of me that does not want Doom in this film. Let him rest for a single Fantastic Four film. It's like Magneto or Joker - yes, he's an important presence, but let's see what they're like without him, at least "Batman Begins" the situation. I love Antonio Banderas and really want a great role for him, but I think Galactus requires someone who can sound imposing while speaking slowly and methodically, giving that "Voice of God" vibe. I think Tony Jay (obviously not an option) or Clancy Brown maybe, Keith David perhaps? Antonio's more of a quiet but occasionally fast talker, with his voice merely underscoring the imposing presence, which is about 70-80% facial expression, 15-25% body.

This leave galactus and silver surfer for the second movie. I mean, if they use Rama Tut, Silver surfer, Skrull & Galactus as their villains for the first F4 Quatroligy (trilogy but 4 movies) than it would be good. Have the family aspect of the team make the stories over the 4 movies feel connected while still having a major influence in the marvel overall. F4 1 : F4 Stuck in the past crossing paths with Rama Tut and Quantum Realm and end credits Fury on S.A.B.E.R setting things up for Perhaps Brave New World and secret wars. Have the Silver Surfer special introduce us to the character with the origins leading to galactus on screen sending him to earth leading to F4 2 F4 2 : family finally gets back to 616 and they still have to get used to it as a family and the MCU in general, while Reed somehow makes contact with SS leading to basically F4 vs Silver Surfer with a small setup for F4 with a loose Skrull on the loose. F4 3 : Basically the skrulls are slowly taking over on a bigger scale and F4 and Fury (mainly reed and fury) get in on the hickup with Skrulls who decided to do their own thing, leading to another super Skrull (to a degree) try to continue graviks plan on a semi-bigger scale (cuz secret invasion should a whole saga with this kinda continuing the story) even cameos from giah and that funny old lady could be cool. Could also bring in Silver surfer as a partner. And then F4 is basically the introduction of Galactus with Whoever is on Saber (ms. Marvel, Photon, Captain marvel, F4, Silver Surfer, ) going cosmic and space and have a battle against galactus. Leading to obviously F5 but Galactus should be a villian for a whole saga so that story goes slowly

Based on this criteria, I think Brendan Fraser could be a good Ben Grimm

Ideal casting for me. Sue Storm: Vanessa Kirby, Reed Richards: Jack Quaid, Johnny Storm: Dacre Montgomery, Ben Grim: Ebon Moss-Bachrach/David Diggs, Dr. Doom: Cillian Murphy and Galactus: Antonio Banderas (which when i first heard it immediately loved it).

It is a bit strange that we don't have the Fantastic Four casting announced yet. I think Marvel already has most, if not all, of them cast and is just waiting for both the strike to end and for a big place to announce it (San Diego Comic Con or D23 most likely). If they do plan on the movie coming out in now May 2025 we will have to know the cast by the end of 2023 since it does take them about a year and a half or so to get pre and post done as well as filming, and with how CGI heavy this movie is likely to be they'd probably want even more time to work on it. I also agree, I don't want Galactus in this Fantastic Four movie. Not only is it too soon for him, but also the moment he physically shows up he'll overshadow Kang and would make him seem lesser than, and with the Multiverse Saga being Kang's time to shine, if you overshadow your main villain of the Saga before the end of the Saga, and like right before their main movies for the Saga, that isn't a good look. They need to save Galactus for a Secret Wars credits scene, playing into his comic origins of being the only survivor of a previous iteration of the Universe, and Secret Wars would be the perfect time to showcase that, or if Galactus is already around just some small teases from like alien races saying "the World Eater destroyed their planet" or whatever. I also agree that Doom should be in this movie, he doesn't have to have his armor and whatever right away, but not having Doom in a Fantastic Four project is like having Thor without Loki, it's like having Steve Rogers without Bucky, it's something that needs to happen. I know the issue is "if he's in the movie he has to be the main villain of the movie" but that isn't true, Fantastic Four has many villains that aren't Doom, you could easily use one of them, hell, that's one thing Fant4stic almost did do, have a main villain that wasn't Doom, Tim Blake Nelson's character in that movie was originally gonna be Mole Man. Mole Man would be perfect for a first Fantastic Four movie, or if not him Dragon Man, Red Ghost, Frightful Four, probably Molecule Man, they would also all be good for a first Fantastic Four movie. Anyways, as far as the castings, Vanessa Kirby is a good choice for Sue, and while I'd prefer Dacre Montgomery as Johnny, Joseph Quinn is also not a bad choice, I think Jack Quaid is a bit older than I'd want for Johnny, but I don't doubt he'd be good in the role as well. Reed could really be played by anyone, Dev Patel would be good in the role, though Adam Driver may end up getting it as well. As far as Ben Grimm, he's a character I've always had difficulty casting, there's just not someone that I've found where I look at them and say "oh, they could be a Ben Grimm in a Fantastic Four movie" Ebon Moss-Bacharach is a bit closer, but still not Ben Grimm. That said, whoever Marvel casts for the role is fine with me.

I think Matt Smith would be a great Reed. At the end of the day the Doctor is a fairly similar character to Reed anyway it's kinda a safe pick.

I remember being skeptical but positive on the Matt Smith rumor when your first video brought it up, now that it’s still being talked about makes me think it could actually happen. My only question is how good he can get his American accent… Dev Patel would be really good too tho, I also like Adam Driver but I doubt he’ll do it at this point

My only exposure to F4 is the movies. Which is bad. However, I understand that they are important in Marvel so I really hope they nail this. To be fair, the MCU has really been on point with their castings so let's hope that continues. And while I'm a big fan of Margot Robbie I just can't see her as Sue. Vanessa Kirby is 💯!

To be honest I hate Jack Quaid as Johnny but I think he would be a really good Mr Fantastic. I think the perfect Johnny is Glenn Powell and frankly I am shocked he has never come up in these casting rumours since after seeing him in maverick I think he would absolutely kill the role.

I just have to repeat for the 1 millionth time since Benedict Cumberbatch was cast, any New Yorker superhero can be fully british. It’s not a problem whatsoever. As someone from NYC, we have a million people with a million accents who have lived here almost all their lives and a british accent is absolutely not uncommon at all. It would take one line “My parents moved us here when I was 10” and whatever accent the actor comes with is absolutely explained away in an entirely fair way

imma keep saying ive been saying its “type casty”, but Brendan Frazier for Ben Grimm. I can 100% percent picture him saying “Its Clobbering Time”. A new one could be the guy from I heart Abishola, he’s skinny know but i could see it. Brendan Isn’t fat but he fit’s the build id say.

About Seth Rogain, I agree I think it would be jarring, but I also felt that way about Benedict Cumberpatch and that worked out ok. Maybe he could do it! I bet it’s taking awhile to cast because they need to all have chemistry with each other, and if Sue is the lead, they’ll probably all have to screen test with her
@gri4108 Жыл бұрын
Determined to prevent this timeline from suffering the same fate as her own, Sue became the Ultimate version of Kang the Conqueror. As Kang, Sue possessed powers which the Sue Storm of the present day did not have, including shapeshifting, teleportation and molecular rearrangement.

This is most definitely out of the realm of possibility but I would genuinely love to see, if they were to do an eventual Doom casting, that they should Silver Surfer or Darth Vader it, with the body/mask being really anyone fit for the role with purposeful mannerisms and the true weight of the performance going to someone like *Christoph Waltz* . With all respect to those in the physical acting profession or any other actor in talks to do the role, I have to agree that Doom should be one of the characters given the most gravitas in the entirety of the MCU and by divvying up the role into one of a physical and one of a audible could lead to a better control of having a more critically renowned actor be the one in charge of ruling the script. I understand that Christoph Waltz may lean a bit older in what they are attempting with this Fantastic Four movie and that his casting would play a bit loose with the consideration of a broader, European actor but I still believe that this slight delineation of physical and audible portrayal is one of which Hollywood has seen before and one not inherently offending by any means not to mention just to see Dr. Doom brought to the screen with such an authoritarian and captivating performance whilst giving a monologue would be incredible.

Ok hear me out Adam Driver and Mr. fantastic, Kirby and invisible woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny and this is crazy but I think it could really work. Jack Black as the thing he’s big and he’s Jewish plus after bowser he can have a deeper voice.

I agree with you about Seth Rogen not being the best choice for Ben Grimm/ Thing, with only really one (maybe two in a way) augment in his favour and that would be Bradley Cooper as Rocket.. did not think that would have worked but now I can’t imagine anyone else doing the roll/voice.. also in hindsight, Vin Diesel as Groot doesn’t seem like it should have worked but it definitely did, so for that I’m personally keeping an open mind.

I'm not super worried that we don't have a cast yet. I remember a decade ago, everyone was doubting Fox's ability to get First Class out by its scheduled release date, and they began announcing the cast only a year before. It can be pulled together quickly, it just needs to be a priority...and it just isn't right now.
@brewdaly1873 Жыл бұрын
I'd be really excited if Sue was actually the main character. She has some of the most badass moments of all of the F4 in the comics, like when she threatened to put in air bubble in Wizard's heart, or when she knocked a hole straight through the Baxter building during a fight with Reed, or one of the many times she punched out Namor.
@BaithNa Жыл бұрын
Sue being the lead makes sense because Ben was the lead of the first movie, Johnny was the lead of the second movie and Reed was the lead of the remake. I'd just like Johnny to be younger, around Peter Parker's age because they're supposed to be good friends.
@kevandre Жыл бұрын
I believe it was an autocorrect or just a mistake type of deal because Jack Quaid has zero Johnny energy. Like maybe Reed, for sure, though at the same time I'm not sure I'd be able to divorce him from Hughie. Like when I watch the Hunger Games and see him I'm like "oh Katniss just killed Hughie" Though at this point we're two for two on our Johnnies being in other superhero roles so who knows if we'll have that happen again. I don't generally prefer that, though there are times when it works out I guess

Aside from his age, the perfect casting for the Thing/Ben Grimm may be Jack Black. He fits the rumored casting description, he was born & raised Jewish, he absolutely can do the voice if Bowser is any indication, and he has expressed interest in the role in the past according to IGN. As if that wasn't enough, his mother is famous for being an aerospace engineer.
